seems they are buying 53 tonnes of it at full retail price.
Why are they paying the full retail price? There should get it at a discount so they could distribute say 100 tonnes. Somebody making a killing.

    Cheese?
Miserable bastards. I remember getting a nice big lump of roast beef one Christmas.

Mind you, the internet was only in it's infancy back then and boards didn't exist, so none of you were able to express your horror at poor people being given food that would just end up being dumped anyway.

    Here's some AH fodder:
The free cheese will raise cholesterol in the poor. They will then have heart attacks because the cheese and all that heavy smoking and drinking will mess them up. Then the government will be forced to raise your taxes to pay for heart surgery and the meds that go with it.

This cheese is going to cost you all about €10,000 a block.

We're all doomed, and it's the fault of the EU. We should leave and re-join the UK.

    Did I cover everything?

Mary Harney has been milked to provide this Cheese, hence the mysterious weight loss.

A West Wing TV show reference there I reckon

It's also something that was dished to the poor and elderly during Reagan's reign in the 80s.

This would have been a complete non-story if Brendan Smith as Ag Minister hadn't tried to make a story from it. It blowing up in his face is down to him, not anyone else.

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,614 ✭✭✭ArtSmart

that's heartbreaking. Smith should be fired.
the cost this will ****ing add to the price of borrowing (yes, it will effect it) will far out weight the 'benefits' - the bloody muppet!

Sure! the government have been buttering up the sheeple for years, but now they realise that we are really mice and are treating us accordingly! ;)

But you have to chase after it!
