Free cheese!!!!!

The Agriculture Minister Brendan Smith has announced that a substantial quantity of cheese will be made available free of charge for those most in need this Christmas.

He says the cheese stocks will be made available for collection by charities from November 15 at stores in Dublin, Laois, Waterford and Cork.

The scheme is funded by the European Commission

It's also a staple food in much of Europe, consumed on an almost daily basis in one form or another. If the scheme is being funded by Europe could it be that it was they who are providing it?

I'd love to see the minutes of the meeting in the EUropean Commision where somebody suggested spending money to buy cheese for poor Irish people. That's an idea someone comes up with at 5am on Saturday morning after a 12 hour session.
