finglas, hands down - look at the number of shootings in the past while and then look at the number of the articles you'll find with people from dunsoghly estate mentioned within. unbelievably high proportion. my family are from finglas, so i know there are good people there too, but walking through it just does not feel safe. that poxy shopping centre on cardiffsbridge road is unreal, the amount of drug dealing is shocking. plus the number of tracksuit warriors hovering around at any given time of the day or night is outrageous - there's just no ambition in the youth of that place at all.

i voted for blanchardstown in the poll cos finglas wasn't there and i don't have enough experience of other counties to cast a non-media-influenced judgement. I was raised in blanchardstown, and again, despite the presence of many good people, it's such a desolate, rundown kip, full of tracksuit wearing no hopers and horses. I live in blackrock now, and despite my distaste for the yuppie kids with their lack of any sense of how the real world works and what it takes to make a success of yourself, there is a lot to be said for walking down the street at night without having to look over your shoulder.

Yeah. Come on, this is really offensive to people who live in those areas.

How would you like this topic if you were raised in one of those areas with little prospects in life? The majority of people anywhere are honest people, only a minority are criminals.

That my friend is the fault of the government and its "lets give people money and houses for doing nothing and not kick them out when they act the bollox".
I'm living in finglas years and i actually like living there,the majority of the people are genuine and friendly.its a very central location for twon,airport,m50 and shopping etc..its a small minority of state-funded scumbags who bring the place down,acting with impunity and hanging round the shops while thier parents drink thier dole money away in thier corpo-rented houses.

All 32 counties of Ireland are like a seaside town. The best place in the world during the summer but a complete sh!thole for the other 8 months of the year.

And thats if we even get a summer, which we haven't really this year. Again.

+1, I've grown up near there, worked there for years and socialised around there.

There's a far bigger sh1thole on the 39 route close to town. My boyfriend and I both had our cars keyed, windows smashed and his steering column was messed up beyond repair, all in the space of a week after he moved there.

Then, he had to get a rental car for work and the p/side wing mirror lasted about 5 minutes, all these cars were parked on one of the busiest main roads in the area. You'd hear car windows/house windows being smashed every night. The little scummers didn't give a flying f*ck, walking around with crowbars in broad daylight, nor did the guards because the area was so rampant with this.

You know the place is a kip when even the guards can't be bothered.

A well known fact by anyone with the intelligence to not have their opinion rammed down their throats by gutter journalism , Limerick is one of the nicest , most vibrant , modern cities in this country of ours.

Yes it has it's problem areas like all other centres of populace .

For me I would vote Sligo , a town masquerading as a city with a population who have the mentality of a one clan village.

Another is Shannon , fcuk all in that town , best avoided unless heading to the Airport.

The whole of Limerick gets tarnished in that poll. Moyross and southill-kips, most of Limerick-fine.

Moyross is 2 house burnt out, then a boarded up one, then a regular house, then a few more boarded up.......dunno how people do it living there.
