    Pandering to an extreme is not liberation. Women acting out what porn models do isn't liberation either or what Loaded or Nuts readers see as liberation.

    I do think we have improved immensely over the last 20 years, but my worry is in a rush to react to the RC sexual extreme, people go to the other extreme. Extremes usually aren't good!

    i agree that pandering to male hetero desire does not equal sexual liberation, and particularly as this thread is about "sexually liberated women" i think it's funny that so many men seem to think sexual liberated countries are simply the ones where they've had the best sex.

    i feel a sexually liberated woman is someone who does not feel shame or guilt around sex, someone who is educated about sex and techniques and stds and contraception and who can discuss it openly when necessary, and is someone who has sex on their own terms -they don't have sex just to make someone like them, or refrain from sex for fear the guy will judge her.
    how many people she has slept with is irrelevant, whether her favourite position is missionary or revers cowgirl is irrelevant,whether she has some hang ups about her body or not is a different issue and whether she fancies and ****s boards.ie posters or not is most definitely irrelevant.

    this poll can't generate an accurate answer anyway. for example, if i had to vote i would go with canadian girls, but thats because i lived there and knew canadian girls who were what i would call sexually liberated. there are also plenty of canadian women i wouldn't consider sexually liberated, i just didn't seem to hang out with them. same can be said for everyone who's shared their story of sleeping with a hot german/czech/english girl...what about all the girls you didn't sleep with/meet?!

    In many ways, I think women have taken a step back in recent years - partly due to the role models, partly due to their own aspirations... a lot of young women idolise & aspire to be footballers wives, tarty popstars, models etc - basically any career that trades on looks & appearance.

    Instead of using the benefits of the political, cultural, and economic equality that feminism achieved, many women are happy to allow themselves simply to be objectified.

    Whilst a lot of men have no problem with this (more tits & ass to see!), it hasn't been something driven by men, but more by women themselves.

    In some ways, women are their own worst enemies.

    Just as many men are their own worst enemies in that they perceive their value or worth, in what the opposite sex, women, want or "desire"?

    So, yes, women are often their own worst enemies in that regard. So are men. Maybe this isn't dependent on each sex but relates to both sexes?

    I'm not sure that's true. I think men often base their self worth on their achievements & that our role models have always been men who achieve - whether through business, sport, technology, science etc & that has been a constant throughout the decades, unlike it has been for women.

    Though I could be wrong. :p

    I always thought Irish women were sexually liberated but it's only when I went abroad a few times and had had a few encounters with women of different nationalities that I saw the way Irish women talked about sex was for effect and reaction, bluntness for the sake of it, a game of one-upmanship. Then I grew up a bit more and realised only some Irish women are like that and a few in my group of friends were like that but not all. As a country sexually, I think we're classy and getting more open minded.

    Now when we're on hols, all inhibitions and decorum are out the window!

    I don't think there is a "type" or that indeed "sexual liberation" is indeed a useful or correct term to use. People decide how they are going to live their lives. I think the term also casts a negative light on those who wish to hold conservative views on the subject as if we are "chained".

    Looks like Brit girls and in particular English girls are gonna win this poll. (up the poll :))

    Well when i was travelling in australia many moons ago staying in the hostels & backpackers..i would come across many randy girls of different nationalites..but by far the randiest were ...yes you guess it...the english girls.

    Sometimes you didn't even have to chat them up they'd just hop into bed with you no questions asked.

    If there's any english girls out there reading this can you please explain why you are so randy (not that i'm complaining;)) is there something in the water or what??

    Sweden without a doubt has the most sexually liberated populations. They've proper sex ed,sexuality and sex are not taboo's,women aren't sexually objectified to the same extent as they are in UK and US.

    I can't believe people think the US has sexually liberated women? A country where women are neuroticlly obsessed with shaving their vagina's,the highest rate of plastic surgery, and where a significant percent of the population are right wing Christians?? How on earth is that sexual confidence and liberation??

    but my theory is this.......no religon no guilt.....religon is more or less gone out the window in the UK hardly anyone practices

    so the no fear of god factor or guilt has alot to do with it imo, women and men feel free to do what they like when they like with whoever they like:)
