    It's not in 3D. 3D sucks!

It is. My two local cinemas are showing it in 3d

"Dark Knight Rises" director Christopher Nolan has been among the loudest critics of Hollywood's rush to 3D, claiming it degrades the creative and viewing experience. "It's all about the money," he told the PGA's Produced By conference in May.

I think they are confusing it with the IMAX scenes...

There's going to be an awful lot of people thinking their 3D glasses are broken at those showings :pac:

So what was the experience of seeing it so early (in a really nice cinema too) like?

It was my first time in Lighthouse and I loved it really, not sure if all the screens are the same but the seats in screen 1 were probably the comfiest I've sat in in a cinema (bar Lazyboys at some VIP crap)

Good atmosphere around the place, fair bit of press around too

    Jesus that is unreal.

Tbh it's a worse state of affairs at Cineworld. Two screens so far have failed and widespread delays are probably to be expected all day at this rate.

    bring back film!

    Worse than a shooting???

(edit) obviously you don't mean that. But worse than what?

was a joke, albeit bad one. Obviously worse than very little but a major first world problem.

Went to the 5am show in Rathmines.

So glad I did, what a film! Exceeded my expectations and justified the hype. Just blown away!

Cant wait to go watch it again!

In the meantime have to work until 2.30 pm and then go to a wedding!

How do you all rate Kilkenny Omniplex as a cinema? I'm getting too impatient to wait 'til I get back to Dublin to see it. :o

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,791 ✭✭✭coolisin

It's not a bad cinema since it was done up, some of the idiots that frequent it though have a tendency to ruin movies there.

I haven't gone back since quantum of solace, Carlow cinema is of a decent quality.

I went to first show in Cineworld this morning. It's was the big screen and nearly full up. Projector wouldn't play film so they offered us tickets to next show in smaller screen. We would've been packed in as that show was about to start and some of the clientele seemed a little strange so got a refund.

    A bit disappointing.
