Irish government response to an invasion

    1. Issue Iodine tablets
    2. Call the Brits
    3. Grab as much cash as possible and hide.

fairly self explanatory. Just like a Myers/Harrisite moron is self explanatory. I view both sets with equal contempt.
Returned to you with more contempt.

    1) Get to your local and down as many pints as possible.
    2) Seems to me the Brits have to call the Yanks before they can do anything.
3)No cash left in the country, all gone to Anglo, Irish nationwide, Bertie and co.'s pockets and expenses

What about this mythical Irish neutrality? Ireland isn't "Allied" with anyone. The only reason any country would help Ireland out would be if it were in that country's interest to do so. The only country that really applies to is the UK because Ireland falling into the wrong hands is a risk to British security.

Irish government bashing, not Paddy bashing. Irish governments have, over the years, failed to fund the military to a decent level so I can only conclude that this must be the main defence strategy.

Probably not, but the two Typhoons that escorted an American flight when it asked for assistance in Irish airspace might make a few people think again.

(How on earth did we get here??)

    This thread is fun.

Personally, I serve with someone in the Defence Forces who is currently over in England on a Platoon Sergeants Battle Course being run by the BA.

    Probably brainwashing him right now.

    The bastards.

First off, that letter looks really fake. Secondly, it's illegal to recruit here for the BA. Fucking retarded thread.

Yes and as somebody who did an armourer upgrading course in Bordon Hampshire and they dont brianwash but certainly they treat PDF members as not so bright as I discovered. Took a few slaps at the Naffi to sort out the men from the boys. Respect grew then for us. At least our boys never did anything to be ashamed of like the BASTARD who served in the north like the paras and black watch.

Where is "The free state" Is it another American state or is it in south Africa? Lot of IRA lads worked hand in hand with the brits, I hear.

I live in the Republic of Ireland. We are a free country unconnected with britain except for part of our nation that is temporarily and illegally occupied by a foreign country.

Be worth passing that picture to the Army for their opinion.

anyone who joins is a traitor to ireland. if someone wants to join the british army let them go to britain, but dont let them back. im sorry but i know its all over now but after the whole 800 years they shouldnt even be our ally nevermind be allowed recruit here. do you think the americans would allow the taliban to recruit in new york? this is wrong and is going to cause contraversy.

Read the constitution please. Specifically the section mentioning what constitutes treason.

Taliban is technically a political movement not an army. Insurgency movements are different to armies.

AFAIK, we voted to change the constitution so that we no longer have a legal claim to the 6 counties, therefore it's not illegal.

As for temporary? Who actually wants to take on the 6 counties? More trouble than they are worth! The majority of industry is government run. We simply can't afford it.

Be better if it were for the people of Rathmines, what with their experience of needles and the like, they would be much better at using precision tools.:D

Well no self respecting country is going to allow foreign armies to steal potential recruits for it's own armies right out from under it's nose.

I watched a documentary a couple of years back about Dubs in the English army and they were all lads that had been rejected by the Irish army first.

Make of that what you will;)

    The Irish Army isn't recruiting.

Back in the 80's (probably the documentary you saw), very few people got in on their first try in the Irish army, and at that, you better know someone was a good mantra. So it was a choice of join the British army or draw the dole until the economy picks up.

PS, noone is being stolen. It's a choice they make.

Well you make a good point there but Thatcher boasted how the British army helped the Mujahideen against the Soviets - and not just with supplies but also training etc. Doubtless some of this training is now been used to kill and maim British soldiers. Then there was Iraq War 2 not scantioned by the UN, not to mention collusion with the loyalists in the north.

Sometimes the lines between the British army and terrorism is very blurred.

Illegal? Now that one is going to require an explanation.
