I think I'm gonna bite the bullet and upgrade. I always thought that the VU+ Duo was way under powered and the specs of the Duo2 look about right to me. If I could get my hands on one with a twin s2 tuner and a dvb-t tuner built in for around €500, I might be able to sell my existing Duo for 150-200 mark. That would make the cost of the Duo2 more bearable. What do you think ?

Why not consider a Gigablue Quad for around half the price ,supposed to be almost as good .
500 euro is crazy money for a receiver .

    Folks

What's the name / url of the Spanish website where many of us bought our vu+ duos originally?

If I remember correctly DNME used http://www.ielektroniks.com/ for that purchase and I'm sure he had a thread on here about it too.

That's the puppy, bless you. I searched and searched but couldn't find it. Mind you searching in work using a mobile phone is not so easy :)

My sat config issue is back again

posted a thread on WOS, we will see if anything comes out of that...

Tried flashing blackhole, and the same issue is occurring on that too...

I flash the box, do an initial setup, manual scan, then reboot to bring the usb dtt tuner up, and then lose the sat config....

    Maybe your flash is full?

Run this command to keep an eye on the OS

    tail -F /var/log/messages

    Which Blackhole image?

2.06 has a glitch which doesn't allow scanning of HD channels.

If you're not getting much else it indicates that your satellites.xml file is out of date (a lot of channel moves recently).

Your best bet might be to download install a bouquet from the settings server.

Autobouquet is a good "add on" to do this . You could also try a search with "network search" enabled.

Desktop PC Boards discount code on https://www.satellite.ie/ is boards.ie

Free to air channels will do,until it gets sorted at the weekend, guy I got it from has always sorted out any problems using teamviewer. Says I'm using 2.0.7 on the info page on main menu.

i have same image so hang on a mo

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,416 ✭✭✭swoofer

ok do this slowly, green, yellow, press ok on addons, then cursor down to black hole settings , settings = channels , now press ok and if you have box connected to internet it will search and a list will appear, use the first one, ie press ok. it will dwonload and install.

if you are not connected to internet it gets tricky but i can guide you

Cheers, seem to have all the free to air now.

Blackhole has its own inbuilt EPG.

    Have you configured CrossEPG properly?

I only get an epg for some of the channels .

    Then it's working.

It happens sometimes (couldn't get Italy earlier on any of the three options available!).

    Is it UK?

Try XEPGDB & XMLTV as well as OpenTV providers.

Seems to be ok now after the advice I got . I have used a usb. Can you PM me the guide?

yaba, say what you did but you MUST use a USB stick for EPG to work properly.

Absolutely not true and best not to send people into panic with such definitive statements.

I use the hard drive - always have, not sure where you're getting the information from that it MUST be a USB stick.

Did what radiowaves said and it seems ok now. I was missing loads of the channels but they are all there now.I think when I enabled the other providers that did the trick.

Would someone mind PM me a reliable seller of one of these. Seen them on done deal but would rather deal with a reputable person.

    Thanks
