ECM 12z run does have some precipitation for the west tomorrow, with some showers "impingining" (copyright Evelyn Cusack :D) on eastern coasts:

Can't say I am overly confident about this projection, but sure we will see what happens.

when you say you are not overly confident, is that about it making landfall, or where it falls, or what it is carrying, what????

I am wondering if the westie stuff is going to come my way... from that chart it doesn't seem to unless it blows northwards...:confused:

A few very light showers out there in the Irish sea, might bring a little more snow to Wicklow/Wexford coast.

Eskimo, Leitrim may very well be in line to see snow tomorrow and is prob much more likely to see snow than coastal parts of galway (due to colder temps inland). That precip is going to moved down from the North West. Presuming the feature is not downgraded by tomorrow, I would be surprised if Leitrim did not see snow, particularly in the late morn/early afternoon.

    Weather Warning

    Issued at 06 January 2010 - 19:37

Very frosty and icy conditions overnight with lying snow in eastern and southeastern counties and some pockets of freezing fog developing later in the night. Scattered sleet and snow showers will occur at times in coastal counties of the north and west with the danger of some more prolonged falls of snow in parts of Connaught for a time tomorrow.

I think my weather station has gone nuts........last time i looked it read -2.9c....Now its reading -5.5c? Surely it cant be dropping that fast?

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,115 ✭✭✭Takeshi_Kovacs

Is this developing low, that blob of cloud currently moving down towards Scotland? Even if it does provide precipitation for the west, it will be interesting to see if it will rain/sleet or actual snow.
Currently, temps are dropping pretty fast down here, atm it is -4.0 C and -6.0 C dp
