Everything still frozen solid. about an inch of glass ice on surfaces

I imagine it will start to melt fairly lively soon.

so it turned fully back to snow with you.:mad::D it's mostly rain with bits of snow here now.

The ice will not melt on hard surfaces for days unless there is a lot of warm rain. The ground is too cold.
Keep an eye on ground temperatures at NRA stations

Wouldn't expect snow anywhere except inland in Ulster - minus 9 here in Roscommon the past two nights, pipes everywhere frozen..
but its lashing rain here now at minus 2.8C!

Bit of a thaw setting in here near me. There is less snow on hills to the north of me (which are about 330m asl), i haven't been out yet to see how much snow cover remains on higher mountains such as Brandon, Reeks, be interesting to see if it snowed on them.

Road up to my house feels a lot worse than yesterday, since it rained and ice is wet and a lot more slippery

the pipes here arnt frozen but the smoke coming out of them has frozen to everything!:eek:

1st time its been above freezing here for 4 days.currently 0.1c! Brightening up, seems that was a piss poor band of percip! Yes it snowed very hard at the end of that band of percip.

Thanks, ah well at least I woke up to a nice wintry scene which is something we don't see every xmas, was hoping to see at least a very brief snowfall but wasn't to be.

Gave no more than a light freezing piddle here. Freezing rain stopped about 15mins ago and temp is now up to a tropical -0.8c and rising fast. Increasing wind all the while though.

i no were gonna be -3c by 1300 this is bad when we rise this quick hopefully snow will hurry up no one has reported snow yet is there anyone on here were the snow is who can tell me what it is like? were is all this coming out of because the radar shows the rain turning to snow by 10:45.

Are you on drugs mate, snow has been reported here, by many of us in mayo area?
