Little things that annoy on you on boards...

What're those little things people do on boards, or just about boards that annoy you (this isn't a feedback thread)?

I hate it in AH when one wastes a first post opportunity with a crappy joke in hope for thanks.

I hate it when you get the last post on a page in a multi-page post. Depending on how big and active the topic is, it's most of the time virtually ignored.

I hate it when forums you really like are inactive for a long time.

I hate when you see a think of a crappy joke for an opening post that you know will get loads of thanks....but the thread is already 14 pages long and no one's going to read it except the die hards who are still arguing about something that has no relation the the original topic

The need for sigpo because people keep pushing it.
The Cork vs Dublin vs everyone else threads.

Having said that, I love the place.

The way that the first 2 replies shape the thread. I.e. Some crap attempt at wit ends up ruining an entire thread.

People who get super defensive on AH and take the thread into a big debate.
When good threads are closed for silly reasons.
The way you can't see what people did to get banned - it's like when they surround a car crash with police cars so you can't see the action.

If there is anything that annoys me it is the constant sensitivity of some posters. Just feels like everything gets turned into a debate/argument for the sake of it, and even when criticism is due it is almost always lacking in constructive criticism and heavy on "I'm better/smarter/more educated/more in the know/experienced than you" criticism.

Also something that really annoys me is disappearing threads, specifically when no explanation is given. Yes yes, read the charter and all but still. We're not rewriting the bible here, show a little tolerance.

Excessive numbers of active threads on a subject (e.g. Child abuse by Roman Catholic clergy) even where the OP is right its still annoying.

Yeah, PC seems to be a word I see being used inappropriately on boards quite alot now.

People deliberately using lowercase "b"'s or "e"'s to spell words like "British" "England" etc but Capital letters for all other countries/nationalities.
