Not impressed.. But then again I was expecting the ones that were leaked a while ago!

Could have really changed things up Nike, opportunity list IMO

I like you was hoping for a small bit of an overall, but I wonder how strictly they were told to stay close to the original design by the teams owners!

With the Jets jersey I wouldn't be looking to go out and buy the new one immediately simply because it's so similar, if they had of mixed it up a bit surely it would have been better for sales!

Disappointed because I thought there'd be sweeping changes. But I'm glad they stuck to the Patriots one.
It's been known for months that there was going to be no radical changes!!

On a side note that had to have been a bitch of a photoshot to organise, needing to get 32 players that were going to be with their teams!

Well the reason why I thought they'd be quite a bit different was to prompt people to buy them.. It seems Nike doesn't need the money!

People will still buy them! Trades/Draft dictate that! Majority of Colts fans are going to need new jerseys after the clear out! Tebow,Manning,Luck and RG3 jerseys will fly out!

Nike want the association with the NFL, they know they'll cover what it's costing them...easily!

If a teams changes it's jersey, it cant make another change for 5 years. Some teams will apparently make changes next year according to ESPN.

    giants fan?;)
to be honest if there was a draft taken tomorow rogers and brady would be ahead of him easy
on top of that why is everyone calling eli a hof qb all of a sudden big ben won 2 sbs in 3 years and he didnt get half the credit
sorry giants fans but its the new york hype (see jeremy lin) he is good and probably top 5 but not number 1

I think I disagree with everything on that list.

    of course.

Yea i'd agree. Eli def not number 1. Brady, Rodgers, Manning, Manning, Brees.

I guess big Ben gets very little credit as he was awful in the SB against the Seahawks.

I also think Newton and Ryan are too high and Stafford is too low. Apart from that you'd say its fairly spot on.

i would say the elite are brady, brees, rodgers are in a league of there own (payton to if he can come back ok.

the very good:eli, big ben, vick, stafford, rivers, ryan and newton(only one season i know but it was a very good season)

and the good are: schaub, freeman , bradford, romo, dalton, cutler, smith and tebow (cat ever see him winning a sb but he wins games and that counts for something)

with reguards to big ben he didnt play great against the seahawks but eli has been very average and sometimes just terrible in the regular season in my opinion and big ben had an absoulutley terrible o-line at the time i still consider him better than eli.

all this is just my opinion of coarse:D

I'd liken it more to Steven Gerrard, biggest moments and best play comes on the top stage, but everyone knows there's better more consistent performers out there, I don't think simply sweeping it under the carpet and saying it's a new york thing is really fair.

i do think hes a good player and has been elite in the playoffs but hes been shocking in the regular season most years he is a good player all in all and most teams would want him but to rank him 1 in the nfl is silly and people discussing weather hes better than peyton is just insulting.
new york athletes have always been built up again its just my opinion and i do think hes good just not as good as people think

Agreed you cant rank him number 1 until his regular season play matches his post season play. Bit to be fair this year he had no running game for most of the season and the O-line was mix and match for most the season.

He is 4th in my opinion and as a Giants fan i wouldnt swap him for any QB. Eli is just so calm and relaxed nothing gets to him. The perfect New York QB.

i wouldnt argue to much with 4th.
but are you saying you wouldnt swap for rodgers?:)

Why would you? The difference is negligible and you haven't a clue how Rodgers would react to NYC, let alone how long it'd take to know the Giants' playbook, he had a huge advantage in studying the system for four years in Green Bay before starting.

Eli's not in the same league as Rodgers. Here's how I have the QBs (not in any particular order):

    Elite:
    Brady
    Peyton
    Brees
    Rodgers
    Very good:
    Big Ben
    Rivers
    Schaub
    Romo
    Newton
    Eli
    Stafford
    Cutler

I wouldn't be surprised if the Giants don't make the playoffs next year.

If I was to hypothetically have any of these QBs on the Ravens, setting aside the fact that Suggs wouldn't be on the same team as Big Ben/Brady, I would have Brees, Rodgers, Brady, Peyton, Rivers, Big Ben, Schaub, Newton and Stafford ahead of Eli.

elis hard to rank in the regular season i cud argue for 10 qbs over him but when it come to 4th q in a playoff game hes a different animal.
wierd that a team that will prob be looking at a wildcard spot for the playoffs could have such a good chance to win the sb.

It'd be retarded beyond belief if somebody actually got punished for this.

Rodgers at number 5 on that list is the stupidest thing ever. Stopped reading once I saw that (surprised I made it past no.3).

no way he gets punished whoever made the complaint deserves a clip in the back of the head

The fact that people still question Eli's elite status is unbelievable. He's not number one but he is elite, no doubt.

Most of these people who harbour such an opinion don't represent a informative opinion on the sport.

Depends on how broad you allow the term elite to be. I'd personally cap it at no more than 4 per 32 teams which leaves Brees, Peyton, Rodgers and Brady as the comfortable shoe-in's for that term in my opinion.

There are even others who I would have as closer to elite status than Eli. Big Ben is as clutch in the off season and better in the regular season. And i'd be confident Rivers would have a couple of rings had Eli not been anti Chargers in 04 and Philip had ended up in NY, i.e having that defense, those WR's and most of all, a competent backroom team.

You can't cap it, just because there's more more than an arbitrary number of elite players at a position isn't a reason to disqualify the ones you consider in the bottom of that pack. That's a punishment for operating in a golden era of QB play. It's like saying Joe Frazier wasn't a great boxer because he lost to Ali and Foreman twice.

I've always considered Big Ben borderline elite and there's not a more endearing (on the field) player than him, the way he plays the game is unique and should be celebrated more. The Steelers until recently were a power running team, though, and Big Ben had less of a hand in the Steelers' two Bowls under him (particularly the first one in his second season) than Eli did in the Giants' two. A stellar year for Ben is all it'd take for him to ascend like Eli did this year, he's already got the rings so for him it's more about regular season stats.

If but's and maybes, Rivers isn't even be in the elite conversation after last season. He'll need to show he's good enough to win games that matter before he can claim any serious plaudits.

  • Registered Users Posts: 9,740 ✭✭✭nerd69

but what has eli done in the regular season to be considered elite your saying hes definitely elite and that cant be questioned because of about 6 games when hes had far more games that hes been average or just plain bad

theres professional analysts who feel the same
iv been watching the nfl for years and i am fairly educated on most matters nfl dont question that just because you disagree with me.
