My favourite restaurant in Dublin is The Port House on Sth William St.

This tapas bar is beautifully lit with hundreds of candles day and night (it is pretty dark in here no matter what time you go in) The decor is cellar like with lostd of exposed brickwork, glass and bottles poking out of the walls from floor to ceiling. The bathroom is unisex and totally gorgeous!

Staff in The Port House are all as beautiful as the decor but they are as polite and helpful as can be.

It is best to go to The Port House with a few people as the food and drink here is designed to be shared (Joey from Friends would not be happy) and the more people you go with the cheaper the bill works out :D Start with a few dishes and order more (and more and more) as your evening progresses!

My OH is a connisseur (sp) of wings and he declares The Port House to have the best wings in Dublin! I think they have the best cheese board in Dublin. They have a huge selection of tapas and lots of them are veggie options. Their wine list is great and the house wines there are always lovely. They also serve old fashioned sodas....try the Curiousity Cola if you like fizzy cola bottle sweets!

I always go here...for romantic dinners, sunday luch with groups of mates or catch up sessions with a couple of the girls...and have never had a bad experience!

Trust me...your tummy and wallet will both enjoy a trip to The Port House!!

My favourite restaurant is Monty's of Kathmandu http://www.montys.ie/
Its a combination of the food which tastes like indian, only more favourful (its nepalese) combined with friendly well trained staff.

I first went there for my 30th birthday this year and it really softened the blow of entering my thirties:D.

Win a stay in my five star bedroom.

To enter you must have big boobies and like cleaning.

who ever meets those requirements wins but no one will win, because all good looking girls don't like cleaning.

Joking aside - if you're a nice girl and are good at housework etc let me know that girl exists lol.

My favourite restaurant is Maloti on South William Street in Dublin. Nicest Indian food in Dublin at very reasonable prices and a nice relaxed atmosphere in the restaurant itself.

Dublin - Favourite restaurant is The Winding Stair.

Quaint setting, great view over the Liffey and the food is a unique twist on Irish cooking. Interesting wine list too. Recommended!

Oh and Thomas Reed (who own them) are in trouble, so everyone should make it their duty to help out!

My favourite restaurant is Salamanca on St Andrews Street. They serve tapas so it's great to go there in a group and get a load of scoff and try different things and get your hands dirty. It's cosy and reasonably enough priced, and the service is really good. Great place.

Not in Dublin city centre (but then it doesn't say it has to be) but my current favourite is Thai Garden in Blanchardstown Village (Dublin 15).

Really excellent quality thai food no matter what you order (and I've tried quite a few), reasonable prices (though not your standard cheap takeaway prices - but the food is not your standard takeaway food either) and is always busy - even mid-week. A good sign. Staff are very good and courteous, which is also nice!

My favourite restaurant in Dublin is the Trocadero. Great atmosphere, lovely food, nice staff and a good history. It's the type of place that can become very comfortable like a member of the family, but always feels special at the same time.

It doesn't try to be something flash or cool because it doesn't have to. It has it's own special character and is loved for that.

For some reason it almost feels like Christmas.

I wouldn't have much reason to stay in a hotel in Dublin really, but I did stay in the Morrison for two nights and it felt like luxury - even bought a bathrobe!

Couldn't agree more. The taste of the food at Monty's is very unique. If i have choice where to go, it's always Monty's! And as you have already alluded, the staff are very friendly and always remember your face...

Yamamori on South Great Georges St will always be the best restaurant in Dublin for me! My boyfriend (now husband) brought me there for dinner on our first ever weekend away together. It was the first place I ever tried sushi, and it was gorgeous! I was hooked…by the food and by him. I like the food so much, I made it my mission to live in Japan, and have just returned after 3 years there. I liked my boyfriend so much that I’ve just married him. And I liked Yamamori so much that I went back again recently, and even after trying all kinds of Japanese food, Yamamori was still just as good! I highly recommend it! Enjoy!

The best, not alone in west but anywhere, is PARK HOUSE in Galway. It has fantastic food, outstanding service and great ambiance, and has been consistently so for well over 20 years! Just thinking about it makes me want to get up and go.....now!!!!!!!!!!:):)............is the Shelbourne up to it???? I'd love to find out but I can't afford it now!

Favourite in Dublin is probably One Pico although had nice meals in Nicos and Jaipur also.

In Cork I've always had nice meals in Cafe Bar Deli, not mad about the ones in Dublin though.

Without a doubt one of the most original and friendliest restaurants in Dublin City Centre has to be The Chameleon on Fownes Street (beside the Hal'penny Bridge Pub). It specialises in a particular method of serving Indonesian food called rijst-tafel. It basically means that instead of chomping down on one large meal you get to nibble away at several smaller bites to eat (lamb meatballs are my favourite). Don't worry if you have never been to a place like this ( which i doubt you have) because the extremely helpful staff guide you through the whole process. And just to make things a little comfortable there are knee high tables in the upstairs section where you can dine on a pillow laid floor. A fine calibre restaurant with some of the most original dining experiences i've had in many years. 10/10

My favourite restaurant is Kajjal in Malahide. I love Indian Food anyway but Kajjal is a unique and special take on Pakistani cooking. The decor is fantastic, modern yet comfortable with really comfy chairs that invite you to take your time and enjoy the food and the ambience.

The food itself is incredible, melt in the mouth delicately spiced lamb chops, homely comforting mince lamb curries, yummy rice, breads and all manner or deliciousness.

They also have a great Sunday lunch now where you can get 2 excellent coursed plus a glass of wine all for 20 euro- all to the musical accompaniment of a live jazz singer! What could be better!

    Yum!

Wish I could afford to go there more often but Shanahans on the Green in Dublin was the best meal I've ever had in the Western Hemisphere. WOW!! The food was amazing, the setting classic but not stuffy, the service fabulous and so many little touches that made the night special. A1!

My favourite restaurant has to be Cafe Paradiso in Cork. I couldn't visit Cork without eating there. The food is outstanding, innovative and good value for money. It's a real treat for me to go there.

Neven Maguire's MacNean house would be up there too but is not in Dublin, Cork or Galway. Another outstanding restaurant for any of you that are interested.

Both restaurants are heads and shoulders above the rest. I would prefer to spend extra money on one good meal than two, three, four or five mediocre ones.

Once I don't have to cook or wash up afterward my favourite restaurant is any place other than my kitchen

But since we went there over 7 years ago now; Silks in Malahide is our top restaurant and my husband still fantasises about their ribs. We've only been there the once!

Stoop Your Head in Skerries has to be my favourite. Great food, especially seafood, and a wonderful atmosphere and setting. It is always busy and they don't accept reservations, but if you get there and it is full then your name goes down on a board and you can head next door to Joe May's Pub and relax with a drink until they call you to say your table is available. The seafood is delicious (I am a sucker for their Crab Claws) and the view across Skerries Harbour is the perfect setting for it. On a sunny day it is beautiful and you can take advantage of the outdoor area or on the many grey, misty days we get in Ireland the interior is lovely and cosy. The staff are wonderful and friendly and there is a decent winelist to choose from to match your food. I always feel that I have got value for money after dining there too, which is important these days!
