I can't believe thats an actual quote.
The Benoit/HBK triple threat jumps to mind, and the tag match with Austin against Y2J And Benoit.

Benoit, Hbk, Austin I see a trend there......

For what it's worth (Which probably isn't much) Thejournal.ie have a piece up on Main Stage Wrestling and both Sheamus and Prince Devitt are mentioned and states Devitt has just been signed by WWE.

I agree with those but how many more could you name? Bret Hart is his own biggest fan but he has had a lot of great quality matches without needing to use a hammer to get over.

    ....
    WWE is a publicly-traded $3.3 billion company

Did they get this figure from Michael Cole on Raw?

WWE has also signed up Bray’s own Fergal ‘Prince’ Devitt, who spent a number of years as one of the top “gaijin” (foreign wrestlers) in Japan. He is expected to make his debut in the coming weeks.

He'd better be added to the WWE title math at Mania or else he's being buried by Levesque

    Vs Undertaker at Wrestlemania 17
    Vs Cena at Wrestlemania 22
    Vs Benoit at Vengeance 2004
Vs The Rock at Backlash 2000 (Which I think should be suggested for the video club, a brilliant PPV from top to bottom)
Vs HBK on Raw December 2003

I don't think Mr. Unprofessional there has a right to give out about someone else using Sin Cara.

Hope he didn't hurt his thumb typing that. Though I guess if he did, he would've quit the message.

In terms of assets that's actually pretty bang on the mark. So no, not Michael Cole.

Nikki Bella appears on the ElvisDuran.com Road to WrestleMania XXX podcast. Nikki mentions that Bray Wyatt apologized backstage before he went out and called her plastic on last week's RAW in his promo at John Cena. Nikki added that everyone popped big for the comment backstage.

The main news from the Observer is that Rob Van Dam returns for another couple of months run the Raw after Wrestlemania, Christain may end up as a trainer at NXT as he lives in Florida and THE COACH JONATHAN COACHMAN is returning to WWE as an in studio wrap man - presenting the recap shows, plugs for international tours etc.

Christian should have a job for life at WWE. He's such a great asset for them. He probably has a few years left in the ring yet, be nice to see him get one more run near the top as a heel. Can't see it happening alas :(

Same here... Maybe they've reached settlement on usage of the Sin Cara name. I know they had let the contract run out

  • Registered Users Posts: 11,171 ✭✭✭✭B.A._Baracus

Doubt they had to come to any settlement. WWE has to own the rights to the sin cara name.

I am shocked how long he lasted because once they put someone else under the mask... the writing was on the wall.

Mistico is under the impression that he actually owns the copyright to the Sin Cara name. That's why he's pissed off Hunico is using the gimmick

He's been working indys in Mexico since January using the Sin Cara name and according to most his contract expired in January so this news and the timing is strange.

It would be very strange if Mystico had any rights to the name. Knowing WWE. But... maybe they dropped the ball on this one.

Would be interesting to hear how this pans out.

It's crazy to hear that :pac:
Like yeah, on one hand too much babyoil can be some what dangerous. You are trying to protect someone and bump them right when they are as greasy as groundskeeper willie :P

But on the other hand, why now?! :pac: Sure WWE banned so many moves in recent years. But its such a wrestling tradition lol.

In any case, expect Triple H to be greased up at mania :p

The lads that wear it in their hair are gonna have to get an alternative.

    Oops.
WWE Shares Down 15% -- Was It Something We Said?
    Comment Now Follow Comments
Billionaire WWE Chief Vince McMahon has taken a nearly $200 million hit to his net worth this week as shares in the wrestling-entertainment company have tumbled 15% from a record high of $31.98 set earlier this month.

At least one publication is blaming FORBES, saying the article Michael Solomon and I wrote and released online yesterday prompted a renewed selloff of shares. Indeed WWE lost 4% Wednesday afternoon after we reported that the company’s largest outside shareholder, Intrepid Capital Management, had sold its 10% stake on concerns the rollout of the WWE Network might not be as successful as some investors expect. Volume was 2.6 million shares, more than double the average.

Our article probably just added to concerns already building after WWE shares tripled over six months, drawing in momentum investors to a stock with a relatively small public float (Vince owns 52% of the shares and insiders and large institutions together control nearly three-quarters of the stock). It helps that 4 million shares were sold short, setting off a scramble to cover short positions as the price rose.

Analyst Daniel Moore with CJS Securities in White Plains doesn’t think anything significant has changed at WWE, however.

“The stock has gone straight up for a while and this is a perfectly reasonable pullback,” Moore told me. He set a $26 price target in a report issued Tuesday, noting that 2014 earnings are a “black box” given the uncertain spending WWE must make on its WWE Network and the number of subscribers it signs up.

WWE will announce a subscriber count on April 7, the day after WrestleMania XXX in New Orleans. The company says it needs 1 million subscribers at $9.99 a month to break even and would positively coin money at 2 million, with $50 million a year dropping to pretax earnings. WWE has earned $30 million to $40 million in recent years but reported just $2.7 million in net income last year amid heavy charges to its film and television businesses.

The fact is, WWE is a speculative bet on Vince McMahon’s ability to leap from one lucrative business — promoting wrestling matches on live and pay-per-view television — to a far more profitable business selling that entertainment over the Internet, a la Netflix NFLX -1.64%, for $120 a year. Until investors can see the results of his latest venture, it’s all guesswork. But note that Intrepid only sold out after doubling its money, and after the initial reason it bought shares — higher expected revenue from its TV contracts — was fully priced into the stock.

Moore thinks there’s a good chance WWE will negotiate a 150-200% increase in TV revenue, dropping $75 million to $100 million to earnings before interest, depreciation and taxes. The WWE Network is a bigger gamble, but Moore notes WWE has gotten 1.8 million “likes” for its network so far and the WWE App has been downloaded 10 million times. If the company can get 3 million subscribers, driving EBITDA to nearly $300 million, he says, it’s a $40 stock.
