is there a free app that will sync with outlook and allow you to use custom alarm notifications.? the one thats on the samsung s2 is useless.

it will sync no problem but the alerts are only any good if you have your ear to the phone while they go off.

(I think I may have to go back to my 12 year old nokia to do the job)

oh and can you get rid of boards deals...?? (sorry dev but it s anoying)

I just use the default email app that comes with Android. I have the account setup in outlook to connect to the server, so I just used the same settings in the Email app and it works grand.

One of the things on Android that always bugged me was the gallery. I just found an app called QuickPic which is brilliant, replaces the standard gallery and is so so much better - highly recommended!

Does the tablet have a sim slot? Almost sure it needs a mobile number to link with.

JedVd - View and download youtube videos.

I've been looking for an app to let me download Youtube videos for some time but I can't find this one anywhere - mind me asking where you got it?

On your browser on the phone. Go to google, search for tubemate.apk and download the.apk file.
Instal app from the .apk package and voila!

That was Equalizer on his list? I installed that ages ago - didn't do anything for volume but seemed to be running constantly so I got rid of it.

Yep...running constantly here too with no apparent difference to volume?? Maybe I am using it wrong??

Is there anything out there for decent ringtones and alert tones for the SGS2. The stock ones on the phone are dreadful and any ringtone app on the market if filled with adds and popups that wreck the phone.

Would like to get a HTC tone pack but I can't find one.

Make your own with Ringdroid. No ads or popups, just works.

Or you could use Audacity, from your PC and save space on your phone...

Zedge is ok for ringtones and wallpaper too.

Or try www.ctunes4.mobi for a big range of mostly classical free ringtones. There are some pleasant surprises there.

I'm on a rooted Galaxy Note if rooting makes any difference? I hit the power button top right and made sure only Equaliser is ticked, then in the middle tab left the 60hz as is and whacked all the others to the max. The lowest setting on the volume keys is now louder than the max used to be.

Google Currents is a fantastically designed app. It is a bit like pulse in that it pulls RSS feeds, but organises them in a nice, fluid magazine-like view. Not yet available in Ireland but XDA have the apk file for those interested.

I like it but still use Feedly more. They need integration with your Twitter feed and Facebook feed as well to be even nicer!
