Scoreboard - scores in quite a few sports and can send updates on scores/half time/full time etc

Is Scoreboard any good for soccer? I'm not too impressed with the ESPN app.

I find Soccer Livescores a brilliant app for football scores. The amount of leagues you can get the scores from is huge and you can also filter it so you just see the scores from the leagues you want. Also you get virtual money to play around with and bet on matches if you choose.

Also goal.com app is a pretty good football app.

I've been using 'Out of Milk' a lot recently too. I know it's just basically a not-pad to write your shopping list on but it's the sort of handy little app which I think will stand the test of time more than a lot of the more impressive-looking but pointless apps that you see.

    Try OurGroceries.

The app syncs with multiple phones and a web site
    http://www.ourgroceries.com/overview

Dead easy to have a list on your phone and press an item to remove it when you're wandering around the shop.

Doesn't work too well with my missus though. She still seems to just throw random stuff in the trolly.

Nature of the beast Im afraid my friend, my other half likes nothing better than to throw random useless items into the trolley. She has been known to regularly come back with bags of shopping & no bread or milk :D

I dont know if this has been mentioned already there is a great little game on market called fishing2go.

I use Cardiotrainer pro every day when I am out walking/jogging etc find it very good.

I need one which I can use from 2.30pm on a Saturday to get team news. ESPN can get those. It's the scores themselves (and the interface) that they struggle with.

This sounds cool, I have soccer live scores but I've never seen this, How do you do it?

    Hi all,

I really find notes useful and have a large library of Notes in my MS Outlook which used to sync with previous BlackBerry's but can't find anything similar for Android.

I'd be happy to use an online note application which could sync with my Samsung SGS so if I create or edit a note on my SGS it automatically gets updated to the online notes and visa versa.

    Anyone know something like this?

    Ben

I can't get the Voice Notifications working on my Desire at the moment. Great app if I could get that going.

    Lads,
Anyone found an Alarm App that will work when the phone\tablet is fully off at night? Kinda annoying not being able to fully turn your phone off and then the alarm will not ring in the morning....I do put it into Airplane mode which is the next best thing for saving battery life....

    Cheers,
    M

Nope, its not possible with any of the Android phones out at the moment - not because of Android but because of the phone hardware. Your best bet is what you already do i.e. Airplane Mode. See here:

Thanks for the suggestions re Evernote, Springpad and Catch.

Downloaded all of them and looked at the functionality and online sync etc and went with Catch in the end. Can't believe how well it works and how simple it is to use.

Bye bye MS Outlook Notes forever!!

Catch is a brilliant little app.... such a simple idea and very well implemented.
I've been using it for a long time now (including its previous incarnation 3banana).

    Hi,

I'm looking for an app which will enable me to manage my mobile phone useage and stop those V0dafone thieving ba$tards from nailing me for extra's each month.

I'm on Perfect Choice Access Plus 500 and used to have free VF to VF calls and texts but that wasn't working out so well (paid €100 in out of contract calls last month) so I switched to having 5 free numbers instead which account for a fair amount of my outgoing calls. One of the numbers is my Mocall local VOIP number so international calls are now mega cheap :p

I have 3G watchdog installed to monitor my 2GB of data but that's never a problem as I have wi-fi at work and at home and generally get onto networks wherever I am.

What I really need is an application which will track outbound calls per month against a pre-determined allowance and be smart enough NOT to deduct calls to certain numbers from the remaining balance. these numbers will fall into two general categories

    1. Specified numbers such as the 5 'free' numbers I have specified to VF + my voicemail (171) number.

    2. General free numbers such as any number starting 1800.

An app like this would be awesome and well worth paying for in my opinion.

Any thoughts or suggestions? I've looked on the market and nothing seems to fit the bill.

    Ben

I've heard good things about Credit Usage, but I've never used it.

Thanks Mr E, I looked at that and a few others and installed PhoneUsage Pro (strange name for an app which monitors phone useage!!) and it looks like it will do the trick for me. I can nominate numbers to be excluded from the minute count so that's the really big challenge taken care of.

    Cheers

    Last request - for now!!

I have a ton of Tasks on MS Outlook which I want to transfer to Dato's GTasks app. I've searched high and low and can't find any way of exporting the MS Outlook tasks to GTasks or any other Android task app for that matter.

This is the one remaining piece of functionality I really miss from my old BlackBerrys. They sync'd so well with Outlook it was unbelievable.

    Anyone got any suggestions??

    Ben

Already ticked unfortunately. I've no idea what the problem is. You get notifications based on time/distance then?

Edit: Problem solved. It's cause my phone is usually on vibrate.

    Hi all,

Just wondering if there is a specific "skype on 3" app? Like there was on my e71?

I don't have outlook here (I only use it in work), but while on the notes screen, see if you have an export option on the file menu. Probably only useful if GTasks has an import function, but worth a look.

Thanks Mr E. GTasks doesn't have an import function as far as I can tell which is a major pain in the A$$. How is anyone with existing tasks (over 100) supposed to migrate to GTasks/Android??

yes, get it through your Planet3.

using the regular Skype app will use up your data allowance.

Long shot here but any apps you can use to read message boards such as boards.ie? I use the browser but the menu at the top is impossible to use.

I downloaded the ebay application from the market a couple of weeks back but when I used it today for the first time it was the UK site. Is there not one for Ireland? Or does it cover both?
