    Hi everyone,

I have 2 female degu's, about 2 years old, free to a good home. I will supply food, hay, accessories - all you need is a cage and lots of time and patience. These two were rescued from a very determined tormentor in the shape of a black cat! If anyone is willing to give them a loving home please PM me :)

    Thanks.

HI Davy1020 - is this the same dog that you were getting advice for on Boards recently http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?p=79874917?

If it is, it would be best to disclose all of the dogs history to any interested parties. Maybe a home with no kids / older kids would be best.

I'm in co Waterford, and our home has been adopted by a beautiful adult stray cat (I think he's around 3 years old). I have my own cat however, and a dog, and the stray is causing a lot of stress. He's anxious to come inside, but I can't let him in, since the dog (who enjoys his company outside) goes mad the minute he gets in, and my old cat acts all shell shocked.
I'd love to find a loving home for him, where he could come inside and curl up by the fire. It pains me that we're approaching winter and he's going to have to stay outside again, and also, I'd be pretty stretched financially if he stays.

I'm not going to let him down, but if you're around the area, and would prefer to adopt an adult cat to a kitten, this cat has a very sad history and would deserve to move into a new home, and make a great companion. He's very very friendly, a right purring machine, and is friendly with dogs and would get on with a friendly cat I guess (my cat has not been very welcoming to him :o).
If you are interested, I would be glad to fill you in on his story by PM.

We recently adopted Tara from a fellow boardsie, but she is not settling in too well in our home environment.

She's a Jack Russell / Daschund cross and is approximately 2yrs old. We have recently had her spayed and check out by the vet and is fine and healthy.

She loves her exercise and plays well with other dogs and cats. She is well trained and seems very intelligent. She needs to be in a home environment that is calm, she seems to like children although she doesn't like it too noisy. She is a bit of an escape artist so needs an enclosed garden.

Unfortunately we live in a farm environment and she has taken to chasing the chickens and the cows whenever she manages to escape!

    Hey guys,

have two cute as a button male cats that unfortunately i'm not going to be able to take with me when i move in 2 weeks. It's breaking my heart but there's really not much i can do about it. They're two boys, just over a year old. They are both chipped and spayed and have recently had a check up with a full bill of health. They wander around the back garden currently but seem to be quite the homebirds and haven't strayed any further than the neighbours house. Both are fully litter trained (tbh there was no training involved) and have such differing personalities that it never ceases to bring a smile to the faces of people who visit. I'm located in Dublin City Centre and if anyone could take the cats they'd obv be more than welcome to their carry case and the litter tray, dinner bowls etc. Any other questions or any interest just pm me.

Why shouldn't agencies be aloud use this forum. They are wonderful organisations who need as many places to communicate as possible as they are overrun by animals. if someone dosn't have facebook but have boards and the agencie has both then its a way of rehoming another animal through this fourm you should really think about updating your fourm

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,003 ✭✭✭SillyMangoX

Because people start to bad mouth certain agencies and start posting false claims or have no evidence and it leaves boards opening to legal issues. Im sure there would be no problem if agencies advertised an animal and it all went fine and dandy but when people start posting crap to give certain agencies a bad name then it doesnt work out too well. All it would take is one person saying ' oh X rescue keeps animals in horrendous conditions' and no one would want to use them thus they can sue boards for defamation. Mods must have just thought life would be easier with a blanket ban on all agencies.

Just to clarify then, the 2 year old male Shih Tsu that was biting your niece is not the same as the 2 year old male Shih Tsu that you own, but now want to rehome?
Who did your sister get out to help her with her dog in the end? It's remarkable that she managed such a turnaround in such a short space of time!

    Yes, I noticed this too.
You said your sister was moving so had to get rid of the dog - "My sister took a 2 year old ****zu from a friend of her about 5 Months ago as it needed a home and the current owner was moving abroad. My sister now needs to move to another apartment but problem is the new apartment has a strict policy...etc"
Why lie when trying to rehome a dog like that? Just to 'get it off your hands" and make it someone else's problem.
No way could your sister have dealt with this biting behaviour in 2 months.
    Disgusting.

I had offered a home to Tara on behalf of my Mum who recently had to have her 14 year old yorkie pts.

That was only a couple of weeks ago, so surely you should give Tara more time to settle?

    Hi everyone.

I need to re-home our beloved cat Lana. Lana is about 14 - 15 months old. She is very friendly with a lovely temperament, indeed, she absolutely loves the company of people. She has a lot of energy and loves playing, so she needs an owner who can give her a lot of attention. She has all her shots and has been neutered.

We don't want to give her up, but are most likely going to have to emigrate in the next year and feel that it would be in her best interest to go to her new owner sooner rather than later. Lana can re-homed in either Galway or Dublin. If anyone is interested they can PM me here. Thanks.

    Hi,

Am looking for a good home for a dwarf hamster. He belonged to a girl who has now gone back to the US and I can't find anyone to take him. He's a real cutie. Cage and everything go with him.

    Hi

First off, I cleared this with the mods before posting due to the seasonal restrictions in place.

Our dog went into her first heat while we were camping during July and we now have 7 pups looking for good homes (One is going to a friend already). All of them are thriving - 5 males and 2 females. They were 5 weeks old last Saturday and are already being weaned (their mother is resisting feeding for the last week and they are devouring solid puppy food). Their mother is a Red Setter (field variety not show - she's a house pet not a worker). Not sure what the father is - random dog on Inis Oirr I'm afraid. They are all mainly black - 2 have red paws and a little colouring. Some pics are attached to the post.

Based on the time of year we want to be very careful who we give them too. While we can't keep them ourselves we do want to ensure they are cared for.

PM me if you want to come out to see them and their mother in Maynooth.

Any way he could get a lift to Cork or Limerick? I'd love to have him! I adore hamsters but I'm between hammies at the moment - I always wait for one that needs a home. Wouldn't dream of buying one from a pet shop.

Don't recall seeing any rottweilers on the island. But most of them were crosses too so it's possible there was a bit in one of them. They are lovely alright. I'd love to even keep one but one dog is big enough for our house.

I'm posting this to see if anyone is interested in rehoming a corn snake. Long story short. Basically my house mate got a baby cornsnake when he lived at home and it escaped. The family thought it was dead after they never found it and six years later they found the snake living in the attic.

It is now in our house without a proper place to stay and even though I dislike snakes I hate seen it without a proper home so I'm looking to see if anyone would like to take it. It has nothing with it so you would need to have the equipment required to keep the snake.

Sorry for the lack of details but I know nothing about snakes.

6-8 month old female cat for re-homing. I found her the night before Halloween outside a local shop she was distressed and being the time of year it was I couldn't leave her there.

She is super friendly, loves people and other animals even if my lot don't seem to like her, loves playing and cuddles. She has been wormed and will be vaccinated before going to her new home.

    In the Limerick/Tipperary area.

sorry didn't see this till now.

She's still with us, there seems to be a lot of JRT's looking for homes at the minute unfortunately.

we are hoping to get some training for her to help socialise her, she has calmed down a little, but has her moments which I'm sure are linked to her past. She went to bite a girl today when she went to pet her, so I need to get that sorted out by training if possible as it looks like we will have to be keeping her.
