    Hi All,

I'm new to this, hopefully I'm getting this post up where other users will see it!

Basically, I have 2 goldfish that have been in the family for 15-20 years but have unfortunately outgrown the 60 litre tank i have for them and need to be relocated to a pond or somewhere with a massive tank. Wondering does anybody have any suggestions or is there anybody that would take them for free? They are silver goldfish with fancy transparent tales and id like for them to be looked after properly.

    All help greatly appreciated,

    Cheers!!

    go onto http://www.irishfishforum.com and http://www.irishfishkeepers.com

stick it up in the for sale section there and mark them as freebies. I'll be stunned if they're not gone by tomorrow.

Hey guys, it's with a very heavy heart that I have to post this, but...

My sweetheart rescue cat, Blackie, I need to find a home for him. Me and the ex broke up about three months ago and it's come to my attention that he's not taking proper care of the Blackster anymore.

Blackie is approx 2 years old. He was a rescue cat so we don't know. He is neutered of course. He is a bit shy but extremely affectionate. He loves other cats and socialised very very well, in fact he adores other cats. He loves to be petted and cuddled when he's brave enough, took him a while to get used to us. Not sure how he feels about dogs, my parents' Springer tried to chase him, so scary, but their 15 year old Lab walked over and snuffed his head for a few minutes and Blackie just sat there and let her. Probably not suited to a home with too much happening, he's a bit shy still.

He's suited to indoor or outdoor living, he's done both. He was a semi wild outdoor cat but took to sleeping on my bed, but since I moved out he's been an outdoor cat again. Obviously he's on the bed with me right now... he was so happy to see me, he hasn't had a hug since I moved out.

Hopefully someone here will know someone, or will be looking for a cat like him. I don't want to put him back in the rescue, he's just too much of a pet cat to let that happen!

If you got him from a rescue, the majority have a condition that if the cat ever needs to be rehomed again, he must go back to the rescue.

They didn't, I could take him back to the rescue, I might end up doing so, but would prefer to rehome him myself.

This is Sparky. He's a 4 and a half month old Collie/Cairn Terrier mix. He's very small, very friendly and gets on great with people. His obedience training is improving very fast and is getting better and better on the lead. This lovely fella is an active dog, so he'll need plenty of exercise daily. He can be a bit nervous around other dogs but should used to them in time, and will make a fantastic addition to a family with older children - he can be a bit boisterous around smaller, younger children. He would be best in a cat free home. He is fully vaccinated. Any other questions, please pm me.

    He's in Cork City

Our black and white female Dutch rabbit has been with us for 3 years but her mate died (they had 3 lovely litters together!!!) and she is seriously lonely. We're not going to get another rabbit as the dog makes them seriously stressed out. If anyone would like her she is really friendly. We are in Co. Carlow on the Kilkenny side of the county. Thanks

I guys, I'm hoping I am putting this in the right place...

We have a young Jack Russell female cross that needs a caring, loving home.

Beautiful black and tan colouring, this Jack Russell with slight daschund cross was rescued from the roadside.

The previous owner couldn’t be found so she has been with us for 3 months and has made a full recovery.

She's young (less than 2 years), friendly and affectionate and now needs an experienced Jack Russell owner to give her the care and attention she deserves.

She is also well trained and socialised with both cats and dogs.

We already have our brood of two dogs and three cats (plus another cat that was rescued last week and is recovering) and so don't have capacity to keep Tara, the name we've given this JR, permanently.

Any help or advice appreciated in rehoming Tara.

    Thanks.

Yes, it's a bit far from Limerick I'm afriad :(

She is a beauty and genuinely friendly and affectionate.

She loves kids too - will follow and play with anyone who will gives her the time, and likes nothing more than to curl up beside (or on top) of a body (or indeed one of our cats) when there is no activity going on.

If you're going to be near the area or Dublin (we go to the Phoenix Park regularly too) let me know and we can arrange a visit.

Just another quick question - has she been spayed do you know?

I am currently fostering a beautiful 18 month old staffie called Rua.

she was a beloved family bet but when her family moved into their new council house they were told by the council they would have to get rid of her because of her breed. (they have 3 other dogs who were allowed to stay because they were not on the restricted breed list)

I took her becuase I knew that if she went to the pound she would be put to sleep. She is an amazing, affectionate well behaved dog and it I couldnt let them do that to her.

Unfortunatly this is a short term arrangement and I am currently trying to find her a forever home where she can be part of a family once again.

She is great with children, coming from a home with a 9 month old, 3 year old and 5 year old who all loved and played with her.

She gets on well with other dogs once they have been properly introduced.
She has grown up in a house with 3 other female dogs.

Rua has not been neutered but I would have her neutered if it is required by her prospective new owners.

She enjoys short walks and chasing sticks but will let you know when she has had enough by lying down in protest! she likes chew toys but never chews anything she shouldnt!

she would be best placed in a home where she will have company during the day, with or without children but preferably in a house with experience with staffies.

If you or anyone you know could provide a happy home for Rua please let me know.

THis is my first time on Boards.ie, I hope ive posted this in the correct place.

She's not spayed yet as she went into heat about 2 or 3 weeks after we found her but she could done now (brought her to vet and was told to give her about 8 weeks after she was in heat which is around now). She has had kennel cough injections.

If you want, PM me your number and we can talk about her in more detail. :)

She is a beautiful dog I hope you find a good home for her
I'm seriously considering getting a dog like this after doing a LOT of research on the breed lately and talking to owners of them I'm liking them more and more
The staffies - pitbulls have the most pretty eyes!!

ah they really are a fantastic dog. Unfortunatly im allergic :/ Daily doses of anthistamines for me until we find her a forever home! shes worth it though, A real dote.

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,412 ✭✭✭toadfly

I would 100% get her neutered before rehoming. That is not a decision I would be leaving up to the people who will adopt her.

God knows there are enough beautiful, healthy Staffie and Staffie x's out there without good homes and while you yourself might be extrememly careful while she's in heat it only takes the once for an accident to happen and it's not a responsibility I would put on new owners.

So if I were you I'd neuter her so she'll never find herself in that situation. Also have her chipped, just in case she ever ends up somewhere she shouldn't.

Best of luck finding her a home. Staffies are hard to place but in my experience once you find a good home they rarely bounce back as they make such fantastic pets.
