So any info on the PAYG release?

I was told on the sunday of the launch down in Blanch that it would be the following Day. Then I was told the next day that they don't know when it will be coming in. The Site itself is worthless for info on the phone as well. Trying to talk myself out of just buying it from Amazon.

Source? Also, sim free one would assume?

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,373 ✭✭✭Shane O' Malley

    Unlikely.

The ones delivered last week were only Sim Free because there was not enough time to "Flash" them.

This delivery are due in the warehouse today, flashed tomorrow and delivered Sat.

Can you not get a bluetooth radio with these functions built in? Which car do u have?

I already have the CC 9060 (working well enough with my N85).

My main query would really be if the phone book can be synced with the kit and if voice dialing works. The text message reading would be nice to have working too, but it doesn't really work with my Nokia, so i wouldn't really be bothered if it didn't work with the Hero either.

No - Meteor phones. 3G stores, not the Three mobile company.

No Word on PAYG so this delivery will only be contract anyway.

Haven't got the peep client working yet, i just downloaded a different one from the market...

The MMS fix is as follows:
    1. On the home screen, press the up arrow ^ just to the left of the word ‘Phone’ to bring up the main menu.
    2. Scroll down and select ‘Settings’
    3. Scroll down and select ‘Wireless Controls’
    4. Then ‘Mobile Network Settings’
    5. Then ‘Access Point Names’
    6. Select Meteor Data.
    7. Scroll down to ‘APN type’ and select it
    8. Manually type in the word ‘default’ and select ‘ok’
    9. You can now send and receive MMS messages!

We have pricing for FTC, Upgrades and Ports so unless we hear different from meteor it will be available on upgrade in 3G stores. However nothing is certain until the last moment.

Sorry, i cant do that, neither do i think the Mods would allow me (Too close to touting for business)

Just trying to provide info on when it is available etc.

Need to talk to the stores themselves.

You'd nearly be as well off buying sim-free. Price may even work out cheaper going this route

Would love to read user reviews regarding 1) music playback quality, off phone music management and syncing, 2) sending media via Bluetooth and 3) call quality.

    Thanks :)

Thanks, but I'm still lost, I didn't get my Hero from Meteor so I don't have the rest of the settings. Would you mind putting them up here?
I've been trying various combinations with no luck.

Try the meteor website. There's an option there to send the settings for your phone

You need to have both DATA and MMS APN's set up exactly as below, as the DATA needs to be set as default.

    MMS Proxy: not set
    MMS port: not set
    MMS Protocol: 2.0
    mcc ID: 272
    mnc ID: 03
    APN type: default <
    CRUCIAL

    MMS
    APN name: Meteor MMS
    APN:mms.mymeteor.ie
    proxy: 010.085.085.085
    Port: 8799
    Username:my
    Password: wap
    Server: not set
    MMSC: http://mms.mymeteor.ie
    MMS Proxy: 010.085.085.085
    MMS port: 8799
    MMS Protocol: 2.0

    mnc ID: 03

I've put this in exactly like shown and still get download as unsucessful...anyone got any ideas?

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,800 ✭✭✭voxpop

Im using O2 so the setting might be different - but Im only using one APN setting which looks very similar to the second listing there - except i dont have the apn type set.

maybe worth a try as my mms and internet work fine.

Strange, just double-check the 'mms type' field in each APN - this must be 'default' (lower case, no spaces before or after the word) in DATA APN. And 'mms' (lower case, no spaces before or after the word) in MMS APN.

Those settings work fine for me.
