Sounds a bit too complicated... Just write whatever you're told to write and use some good French.

There is no way you can say that anything is definitely going to appear on the HL french paper! ANYTHING can come up, there's no patterns to the papers at all.

I'd definitely answer diary - way easier than letter / e mail.

Diary vocab:

Je suis épuisé (e) = exhuasted

Devine! = Guess what!

Devine ce que s'est passé aujourd'hui = Guess what happened today

En lisant le journal, j'ai découvert que = while reading paper, i learned that


Quel dommage = what a pity

Quelle chance = what luck!

Quelle ma;lchance = what bad luck

Quel cauchemar = what a nightmare!

Quel soulagement = what a relief! ...... all these v effective in diary!!

Not as far as I know. It says A diary entry, not Diary entries.
Therefor it should just be one entry.

However Im useless at french yet still have better french then our teacher.
The only reason Im able to do HL is because, I've been to france the last few summers and I still remember the basics we were thought by the good teacher in 2nd year!!!

Comprehensions: Ur answer must fit ON THE SPACE given!! If u don't know how to manipulate, then quote directly from text - you'd only lose one mark!

Opinion Q:

Q1 is compulsory - usually hardest - use simple, correct Frecnh - that's all examiners want, i guarantee u!

Q2: Definitely do Diary Q - see my earlier post with sample phrases

Then u only have one more Q to do!!

You don't get any marks for the layout of the email, unlike the formal letter, so it shouldn't be too hard to get marks. I'm not really looking forward to tomory... Maybe I'll do alright, I've been lucky so far!

I don't think there is a proper layout, is there?
All I've been doing is writing 'Ma Chambre, 2h et demi' or something on the top right, starting with 'Cher Journal' and just ending saying 'Ca y est pour aujourd'hui' or something..

I hope there's no correct layout anyway! Anyone know if there is?

its one of anne maries phrases from a few pages ago and im not sure why its in there??

ne...trop is one of those negatives, but I can't remember exactly what it means.

Hey, i think its just one of those phrases that the french people can change to suit prononciation etc. Say, for the phrase "its not fair" you'd say "C'est pas juste", not "Ce n'est pas juste", even tho the 2nd is more correct. Don't hold me to that but our teacher gave it to us, i've used it on every test and in the mocks and its never been questioned!

Well I was penalised for writing a grammatically perfect, idiomatic piece of french in MY pre because it was exactly 75 words. I only got about half of the marks

do at least what it says but you can write as much as you want but the more you write, the more chance of makin mistakes!

Well then one crowd hasn't been correctly informed how to mark the papers. A lot of people in my class wrote double the word count or more and were penalised, I wrote around the word count and wasn't. I've never been told by anyone to write more, I do the bare minimum most of the time, and get good marks.

I always thought that as well, you'd just be doing extra and leaving yourself open to go down as well as up(I'd probably just go down, so I'll stick to 75/90 words ).
