    Good price. So I bought two.

    Coming from an MTB background, I'd never really considered the impact of a tyre on speed. All I knew was
    knobblies == slow
    slicks == fast

    My average speed dropped noticeably close to the end of last Autumn. Commute time increased by about 1 minute (2 minutes on the way home) and I just couldn't bring it back down. Lost about 1-1.5km/h over the hills. I had to absolutely murder myself over the last 20km of the Paddy Martin to pull off 25km/h over the full 100km.
    I thought I was getting tired, or perhaps it was the weather, or the fact that I was wearing bib tights rather than bib shorts.

    I never considered that switching tyres could have such a drastic effect on speed. Not on a road bike anyway. But lo, even Schwalbe themselves admit that their budget road tyre is slow as ****e. Decent enough tyre though. One puncture (I think) over about 3000km.
    Looking forward to these new tyres now. Though I'm probably expecting a little too much from them :D

    This should probibly be in a 'I should have left myself at home and not gone to Dubin' thread, all in less than 24hours, mix of new and second hand for touring, gonna keep the Shimano shoes for the mtb, the Scott shoes are unbelievably comfy, they really feel like walking shoes...

    could I have done better for price elsewhere?

    Merlin VIP prices also look decent, but not cheaper by enough to worry about.

    Levers £292.46
    Front Mech £58.46
    Rear Mech £67.46
    = £418.38

    Free delivery over £100

    Yeah. Cheers. Only occured to me afterwards though. I wouldn't really mind but Ribble had the front mech in stock when I ordered it only for a note to accompany the rest of the stuff when they arrived stating that it had been out of stock and would follow. I should get it before the w/e but I've missed out on a week :(
