After answering his list of questions i received the following
Am happy to read from you.I believe all what you have said but please you should keep on your promise to take very good care of the monkey okay. The monkey is home train
and have very good behavior and closed relation with other pets. There is nothing to worry about the distance because this is not the first time i Am doing this and it is always successful, and am giving her out because i will be going out of the country for a buissness and there will be no one to care for her.So if you will be taking her, then you will have to promise me that you will be sending pictures of the monkey to me monthly just to let me see the present condition of the monkey and how she is doing with you.So as i earlier said i am located in England and the monkey will be ship to you from England and all you will have to do here is to pay for the money for her transfer of ownership papers.(Adoption papers.) and that will cost you $210 and that will be all you will have to pay.The reason for the papers is that everything will now be transfer from my names to your names to prove that you are now the new owner of the monkey because everything will now be made in your names. So if that is okay by you, then get back to me with your full shipping information which i will be using to book the flight for the monkey. So i will be needing your information as follows.
    NAMES...................................
    COUNTRY...................................
    ZIP CODE........................................
    STATE/CITY.........................................
    CONTACT PHONE NUMBER.......................
    NEAREST AIRPORT TO YOUR LOCATION.........
The airport will be needing all the information so that when the monkey arrive at your location you will have to go there and pick her up.So i will be Waiting to read from you asap.
    Thanks.
    Tim

So much for being free and in Carlow

He's probably flying into Carlow .. oh, wait.

Obvious scam, tbh. First it's the $210 for the papers. Then it'll turn out that because the monkey doesn't have an EU passport, she'll have to check in for the flight at the airport. And they'll hit you for the Ryanair €40 boarding pass fee. After that she'll get stopped at the gate for having two bags, so they'll hit you for the extra late fee for putting the bag in the hold, together with her extra heavy bag you're alrady paying excess baggage on. They'll also claim the monkey ate five paninis on boards and bought 10 scratch cards but didn't win anything, so you'll have to pay for those too.

The monkey will live with you for a few weeks, but one day while you're at work she'll grab all your valuables and stuff them in the bogus Lithuanian charity collection bags that came through your door that morning, the seller will pull up outside in a white van, and off will go the monkey, leaving all the doors and windows open and the thermostat on high which will cost you a small fortune in heating bills. They'll re-sell the monkey to the next sucker next week.

Happened to my neighbour before, only the monkey was calling herself Rita then.

This wanker is playing hard ball. Say you are flying into london next week on a wednesday. Look for flights and tell him what time a particular one lands at so the stupid wanker can go and meet you. Expect an email back saying that he was sorry but he wasn't able to make it but would be happy to post it to you. Take it from there.

Keep up contact, PM me for ideas on how to make this go on as long as possible and hopefully bite this lad in the arse. And also, this thread is funny.

Right he sent me his address (obviously i can't post it here). Its a Birmingham address and i checked it out and its real. The weird thing is i booked flights to Birmingham for the 18th of July earlier on today.

What are the odds of this not being a scam??

Does the monkey have a pet passport, will it need to be quarantined coming into Ireland.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,159 ✭✭✭✭phasers

now say you want to see the monkey on cam wearing sexy underwear

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 740 ✭✭✭junior_apollo

Tell him that you do not want to go through the hassle of getting flights and arranging everything else if this turns out to be a joke on his part.

Instruct him to send you €210 as a proof of identity payments which you will then give to him on arrival...

    Hey OP.. and readers,

I decided I'd chance my arm with this lad also, here is the mail I got from him:

"I appreciate your interest to adopt my monkey, she is called hanna ,she likes children and also friendly with all animals because she is home trained ,am giving her out because i just got a promotion to my job meaning will be travelling alot ,she is very healthy and has all her health documents. but i think it is good to know a little about your surrounding before giving my monkey to you.So please if you don't mind then i will like you to give me answers to the following questions ,your location,do you have children, are they pet lovers, will your home be safe for my monkey,do you have other pets and do they go along well with monkeys.please friend asking this questions is for me to know about you.
for her pics i have sent .
    your reply am waiting soon.
    Thanks"

The email he sent me comes from "Tim Jupitals" which i think is a brilliant pornstar name by the way...

Im gonna keep it going and ill PM you OP with the address he sends me and details etc and we can compare to ensure it is at least consistent...

But im calling SCAM on this one big time! Especially for Tim's lack of writing skills and also for using dollars in his request to you instead of pounds.
Also Note that in the mail to the OP the monkey was called "Hana"... and now she is "Hanna"... unusual for someone to make mistakes when spelling names of their pets...

This is my response email to Tim (Note none of the info is true):

    Hi again Tim,

Thanks ever so much for your quick reply and for the pictures of Hanna, she is gorgeous.

    Location: Dublin, Ireland
Children: We have a 7 year old girl, Fionnuala, and yes she adores pets, as I said we have adopted a number of animals before.
Home Safety: We live in a private house with large grounds and have a lot of play areas for animals, the area is very safe and is very secure.
Other Pets: As I said we have a number of animals, we have a Samoyed Husky, "Belle" who is very very affectionate to people and other animals, we have two horses, "Misty" and "Haze" who are both grey Lipizzaner's, and we have a number of smaller pets, a hamster, 3 budgies and our newest addition to our family is Charles, our Wallaby which we just imported from Kent, in the UK.

What is your location in England? Would it be possible to come and see/collect Hanna?
Would you be able to send me a scanned copy of her documentation so that we can review it?
Would you also be able to tell me some more about Hanna?.. Her eating habits.. her likes/dislikes and what kind of TV shows does she like?

    Thanks again,
    Kind regards,
    Steve

haha.. Don't worry.. i would never inflict such a name on a child of mine.. as i said all the info in my reply to Timm-ah was untrue.. I tried to think of a name that would be difficult for a foreigner to pronounce or attempt to pronounce.. It would have been too easy to say Mary or Betty.. besides.. Fionnuala couldnt have a common name, she is afterall the young lady of the manor... :P

Will keep ye updated if/when Timm-ah replies ;)

Also worth to note that Tim Jupitals (if that is his real name) is advertising elsewhere (on a Cadadian website no less!) for the adoption of BullDog pups.. Tim's Puppies

So the more info i get on this guy and more he talks the more its an obvious scam.. now im gonna concentrate on getting money outta this lad... *cracks knuckles*

    Great news... Timm-ah replied!.. :pac:

I will have to spend some time coming up with a good response for him but here is his email ... also take a look at Hana's Health Paper's attached... Surely even Hana could do a better Photoshop than this clown... Too many errors on the image to explain.. just look at it urself...

"Dear friend am happy for your quick reply, because to me it shows that you are really interested and love my monkey.for i now believed all what you have said, but please you should keep on your promise by caring well for the monkey. And also do not forget to be sending me pictures of the monkey to me monthly for me to see how the monkey is doing with you.The monkey name is Hana and she will be coming along with her health documents and you should always follow the instructions in her health document by taking her every month end to the veterinaries for her health check up etc.I have just sent to you the copy of her health document as you proposed. For all i can tell you about her is that she is a nice pet,she don't disturbs ,she is well trained ,she eats like a normal home pet,she likes sweet foods.
I earlier told you am located in England (Europe) and i will take care of the shipping of the monkey to your location, but as for providing her needs as you promised then you will start by sending the money for the Adoption papers of the monkey and that will cost you 200 euro, the reason for the money is to transfer the adoption papers of the monkey from my names to your names so that the Airport will accept her flight to your location(country) since the adoption papers will prove that Hana is owned by some one out of the country. And as soon as you make the payment i will make all the papers and take her to the Airport and book a flight for her so that she will be living to your location tomorrow. So all i need now from you is your shipping information which i will be using for the adoption papers and also to book the flight of the monkey to your location. So i will be needing the information as follows.
    NAMES
    COUNTRY
    ZIP CODE
    STATE/CITY
    CONTACT PHONE NUMBER
    NEAREST AIRPORT TO YOUR LOCATION
The Airport will be needing all the information so that when the monkey arrive they will call you for you to go there and pick her up or if you will like for them to bring her to your home. Now am waiting for your reply any moment to start the arrangements and send you the monkey."

I will be back once i reply... and we'll see where this ends up...

OP it also looks like i got a bargain.. 200 instead of the 210 he quoted you... :P

    My Response to Timm-ah:

    Hey again Tim,

Thank you for calling me your friend, I do not have many friends, I think our money and large home scare them away.
Thanks also for the documentation... It is good to see that the UK Verterinary Health Center has confermed Hana's health.
It is very difficult to keep these type of animals in top condition, but you have obviously looked after your monkey very well while she has been with you.

Would it be possible for you also to send me a copy of her birth-cert so that I may see her country of origin and her blood type.. as if anything were to happen it would be useful to know this information should she ever need a transplant.
I assume that she is not a Jehovah Witness, in which case she would obviously refuse said transplant.. and some other means of treatment would need to be researched.

Do you have any children yourself?... How does Hana behave around them?... Would I be able to get a picture of you playing with your monkey?...

You state that Hana eats like a normal home pet.. We have a lot of animals and they all tend to eat different food.. granted we did once try to feed Misty some of the dog food.. but she did not like it, so we had to stop keeping her in the house and return her to the meadows.
She likes the meadows much more than the house, Fionnuala took some time to understand why this was.
Now she allows the horses to live in horsey places.. like the barn and the fields. She no longer is obsessed with making them have tea parties.. she is much older now you see.. and with age comes great wisdom... but dont forget also.. with power comes great responsibility...
I often pass on words of wisdom to my daughter like that, do you often pass on words of wisdom to your family?.. Do you have any examples which I may use?

You said that you are located in England?.. We were in England only a month or two ago when we picked up Charles.. Charles if you remember from my first email is the Wallaby that we adopted from a nice man in Kent in the UK, are you near Kent?.. If so we do not need to fly Hana to my country, I would be happy to come and pick her up personally. That way I can also give you the money in person.

Tomorrow is not a good time to send Hana, as I will be away Motorcar Racing at Mondello park.
Do you like motorsport? Does Hana like motorsport? You never told me what type of TV stations she watches, I hope that she likes sport, my daughter does not watch sports with me on TV so perhaps Hana would sit with me and we could watch the sports together.. I would like that.

    Here are my details:

    Names: Steven and Mairead xxxxxxxx
    Country: Ireland
Zip Code: we do not have zip codes... sometimes I like to make up one though.. so for you I will use WLH20M
The reason I chose WLH20M is because it stands for "We Love Hana 20th May".. I like it, dont you?
State/City: Dublin is the closest City to my location
Nearest Aiport to my Location: Dublin City Airport is the nearest.. although if she gets a helicopter or a small airplane it is possible to land on our patio, its a rather large patio indeed.

If you could provide me with the infromation requested above I'm sure we could get the ball rolling and start the transfer of money to your account.
The information I need again is:

    Hana's Birthcert
    Hana's Bloodtype
Some additional pictures of hana if possible.
Some word of wisdom I may pass on to my family.
What type of TV shows does Hana most enjoy.
What type of clothing does Hana wear.. (My wife would need to buy these in advance of Hana's arrival)
What type of food does Hana eat..

    Thanks again,
And hope to talk to you soon,
    You friend Steven

    Tim

I have booked flights for the 19th of July as i was coming over for a break so i could come and see you and Hanna at the same time. This would be great as i could get a chance to see how she acts around strangers. Can you tell me if she has any special dietry needs or does she need any special medication.
Regarding her toilet habits, does she go outside or does she wear special diapers. All this information would be helpful before i commit myself to taking her.
    Hello sir
She is home trained and she dose not mess up in any way,she was raised by me.if she wants to go to the toilet ,then she will signals and you will understands and if you don't she will ran out of people before doing that because she is shy.And for her health conditions she is very healthy and all she needs is her medical check up monthly and that's all,she has never been infected with any disease before in the past because i took a great care of her and i will want you to keep on caring well for her.i will be traveling soon and and that's why am giving her out,so if you could come early to meet her then that will be great. But i can ship her to you and that will be also nice.

I think Hanna is now composing the emails
