Stoute's second string Ave fancied to score
    Ave
    4.50 Newmarket
    1pt win at 15-2 generally
Sir Michael Stoute won the Listed fillies and mares race at Newmarket yesterday with the supposed second string and I think he can do the same again in the Pride Stakes this afternoon, writes Tom Segal.

Crystal Capella is the most fancied from the yard and on form she will take a lot of beating, but I have been very impressed with Ave in recent months and I think she could improve past the favourite. Richard Mullen has built up a good rapport with Ave and her recent work has been as good as ever before, so at 15-2 on ground she will relish, I think she can cause a minor surprise.
The French filly Ashalanda could be anything and Arwaah is very highly regarded by Marcus Tregoning, but Ave in on the upgrade and may well be able to take these.

The first post of the tip was the first article that came up on the website, the second must be a revised one. I was worried there for a min thinking Ben Hutton did actually give the tip today. Looks like its Tom after all

I have been following Tom for years and rate him the best. But I would bet any off the Pricewise boys, except Mel Collier...... obviously!!

Ben Hutton has substituted on a number of occasions for Andrew Barr and Matt williams, and only has had 2 winners out of about 20 tips. I wouldnt be keen if he got a look in at all

Tom Segal (not pricewise) NIGHTJAR Southwell 3.15. no adv. price given.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 88,968 ✭✭✭✭mike65

Damn! I should have been ready for that. When I looked through the Southwell card Nightjar sprung out - all its wins are at the track, was 10/1 now 6s.

I actually saw this horse at kempton on aug 14th. in the parade ring it looked truly unwell. when i looked at its form i couldn't see the kempton run so checked the race and it was withdrawn. i didn't even realise it hadn't run in that race. when it recovers from whatever was wrong its bound to win off its current rating.

    5.05 Naas - Aspectoflove

You just said it yourself NightJar is not PW (dunno where that one was published) Tilabay and AspectofLove are PW-E.

BTW AspectofLove is also a pick of Gary Lattimer in the Gary O'Brien thread. (was advised 25/1 at 11am now 9/1)

just to clear that up NIGHTJAR is in the Racing Post this morning as a Tom Segal bet, but not in his guise as Pricewise.

Thanks. I've never noticed that before and always assumed that he was writing as Pricewise when he wrote a column.

Its the same with this one.....4.25 Lucky Punt has run at the track three times and, been successful on each occassion

The Key Stats for Fontwell are interesting........
    http://www.racingpost.com/news/tipping/kempton-october-18/643952/keystats/

    Particularly the 2-30 race.

    in-form Willie Mullins
    Tilabay
    5.35 Naas
    1pt win 6-1 (Bet365, Stan James)

Willie Mullins has had a really good time of things this season with his hurdlers coming back to the Flat and that trend may well continue with Tilabay in the November handicap at Naas today, writes Tom Segal.

    RELATED LINKS

This horse was really impressive over hurdles last time beating a very decent runner of Tony Martin's easily and on that form he is very well treated on his return to the level. Mullins has his horses in absolutely tip top shape at the present time and Tilabay, with a very capable claimer in Eddie Lineham taking an extra 10lb off, will be very hard to beat despite the presence of a couple of Ballydoyle three-year-olds. The 6-1 looks big.

    Pricewise Extra

bl_tom_segal_50.jpg The world's No. 1 tipping service has a daily crack at the bookmakers' early prices
20-1 Aspectoflove worth chancing at a big price
    Aspectoflove
    5.05 Naas
    1pt win 20-1 (Ladbrokes)

The best race of the day on the Flat is the fillies and mares listed race at Naas and last year's winner Mad About You is a very solid favourite, writes Tom Segal.

However this looks a better race than last year and the fly in the ointment in the John Oxx trained Zaralanta who has always been well thought of by her top class trainer. The latter could win easily but she has been off for ages and isn't certain to stay the mile.

    RELATED LINKS

Consequently it might be worth taking a chance on the supposed second string from the Oxx yard Aspectoflove. In handicaps the last twice, Aspectoflove has had terrible draws and even worse luck but on both occasions she strongly suggested shewas much better than she could show, Today she gets her chance to shine and the trip and the drying ground look ideal.

At 20-1 she is well worth chancing against her higher profile opponents.

Tom segal is pricewise though isnt he, any tips he gives are considered to be pricewise. I think if that tip won they would advertise it as being a pricewise tip

I tend to agree with you.
Re the Irish winners he gets, he does seem to have a great strike rate in Ireland.
