    Stephen.

Not really Steve but I would love to be involved in running some sort of poker floor or I would love the challenge of trying to turn this around.

Where would you offer free parking?

Also, leasing the poker floor would not allow you to change dress code or age policies I would imagine.

    Hi Dom,
I'm sure some sort of off peak hours deal could be struck with the owners of the Setanta car park which is about 300 metres from the casino and the SE from 8.30pm till dawn. Although I do think this car park closes at midnight but not sure. They used to have a deal with the car park at the back of the lane a couple of years ago. This could be revived.

I think the casino in general needs to cop on re the age policies and dress code. Its basically a plush snobbery thing that is enforcing this dress code and age issue so yeah I agree, if the SE gaming floor are going to continue to employ these policies then the poker room will continue to suffer.

Jay do you remember when they used to do valet parking...

Sergio that now works at the cash desk used to park and look after the cars in the AA car park up the lane.. they said it was too costly to keep it running

Ya Paul thats my point. That car park was always half empty so it could be back up on the agenda to revive that car park. We dont want valet parking. I think we can all park our own cars. Is that car park still open at night or was it just for SE punters that it remained open. If it was just for SE punters then I can understand why it became so costly..

EGGIE if its intimacy your looking for try a hooker.
The fitz gets bashed alot in this thread laughable they make an effort with the players have best selection of games good reasonably priced food too.
The emporium has nothing going for it now.
You say if you want food go a restaurant what if u play adecent 5 6 hour session eating 3 day old sandwiches wouldnt be my thing why i stopped playing there the food rip SE.

Hooker?? Dont know what you are talking about, and anyway are hookers really intimate?

If I was playing a long session I have no problem going elsewhere on the break for food, which wasnt my point anyway. I wasnt bashing the fitz, merely stating it doesnt feel as comfortable as the Emporium for playing in, probably due to gaming and poker being on same level downstairs, noise levels, etc.

You may have no problem legging it for some food but to most people a chocie of Eddie rockets or abrakebabra macdonalds or burger king does not really whet the appetite.
Late at night what else is open around grafton street?
Intimacy like dinner for two is what you get in the SE as thats all the bloody customers in there.
If you pay enough a hooker might even give ya a hug

I have now well and truely given up on the SE. I have played the vast majority of my poker there for the last two years but I will not be setting foot inside the place again unless radical changes are made.

I headed in last night (Sunday) for a cash game at 10ish and found one game going. There was some decent action and we were having great banter at the table. Despite the fact that the table didn't break at all, the management geniuses in the SE felt that the best idea would be to be call last three hands at 4:55am, a full hour ahead of time.

Fcuk that, I'm done! gg nh wp SE!

It truly pisses me off no end when they decide to do stuff like that   It is a complete and utter joke, it was a good sign that the game held together that long, in recent times when i have played on Sundays i have not seen the cash game run past 1:30, great to see it run so good and then just be shut down is fcuking terrible!

Well Done Sporting Emporium Management On Yet Again Fcuking Over Your Customers Clapping.gif

Last night was the first time in over two weeks i had been in the place, in the humour of a game and to see a few friendly faces and have some banter i decided to stroll in.

Obviously there was no one on the Gaming floor and the management decided to close the place up. This is a sick way to treat the poker players. OK so they have to close the cash desk but with a bit of thought they could move the cash upstairs to cover the chips in play!!

    ^^^^^ this..

I said it to Jeff last night but alas his hands are tied. It was a fkn joke. How can the SE get numbers back when they continue to do this sh8te. I said it to what appeared to be the gaming floor manager when I was cashing out and he says ''sorry its not my call'''............ Its bollox really. There was great banter last night and a good lively game.. WP to the SE not

Must of been good if your gonna put Tom in the shade. Just knew straight away with that there was no point in putting more money on the table, would probably of just tilted it away, just get up and leave.

Pretty solid table, so was looking forward to the bit of banter, one of the lads i hadnt played with in awhile came in for the game and then out of nowhere Jay strolls in about 11, buys in for €1 million, the game is always fun with Jay around, whats he gonna get up to tonight and his line "i just cant help it" alwways make for an interesting session. onto the hand itself.....

Raise utg to €7 called in a couple of spots, im on the button with AA and make it €40 (down to €72 after a few tussels with Harold) utg makes the call.

Flop was 56x utg asks how much i have left and puts it in, i call obviously, turn and river come running spades and i turn over my hand, he flips over 910 of spades for the backdoor flush  blegh PUKE!

Last night was so much fun!!!

I strolled in a 3ish and the banter was kicking off with me, Tom and Jay and then this noodles dude walks in and he was fkin hilarious!

Game was good too....we managed a minor miracle in a demonstration of player power by getting the 5 live back!

Deep enough stacks, effective 400ish i guess. Lots of action and banter..................BOOM hit with the last 3 hands line from Geofficinio!

I know alot has been said and said again about the SE ****ing over their players but I have faith.

    1) The game is the best fun in dublin.
    2) The game plays the biggest and most action in Dublin.
    3) nicest place to play

and most importantly Kev had a meeting with them about a few things and although I havent talked to him in detail since, I know he was very positive about the outcome. Hopefully we can sort this out and I for one would love to get the crowd back.

So keep an eye on this space!

The fitz main game plays much, much bigger every night.
