for 6 months in 08' he was Stellarnebula on FTP and makersmark66 on PokerStars.. playing 25/50 up to 100/200 plo games.. so he donated to 25k to charity and that solved everything

Speaking of which, I noticed they don't have any updates regarding her progress on her throughout the tournament!

    Because
    A) She's a woman
    B) she is quite attractive (and i challenge any of the dweebs who say otherwise to post up pictures of the last few women tou've been out with who are better looking

    And why does this matter?
It matters because more often then not donkaments winners look like the kind of people you wouldnt want to leave alone in a room with a child for more then 10 seconds.
That or they look like they havent slept for a week and they smell.

I noticed both a and b (before this weekend/year) and having seen her play on telly before know how good/aggro her play is, especially for a girlie, but don't get your point as to why the winner might get PPP a few less/more new punters, relative to the Canadian bird living in Engerland with Townsend?

Edit : not sure if this is on pokertube, but it was educational

Women have to be (and though I don't have research to back this up I feel happy making this assumption) by far and away the largest demographic that poker sites are missing out on. Women spend huge amounts on online gambling such as online Bingo but not so much on the poker. There's a lot of money to be made if PPP could brand poker as female friendly.

Also, she is hot, so all the droolers who only know women exist cause their Mom brings them dinner between World of Warcraft sessions will be enticed into live poker thinking they get to meet women like that.

They have tried (and haven't yet given up), but I think you'll find that the bingo push is after the poker attempt and not before/along side.

Online poker (for whatever reason) has the same male/female attraction rates as live, just as bingo does.

Even so, online poker has a huge advantage over live poker in its attempts to attract female players as the ladies won't have to be drooled over by some random moron.

I agree with this entirely and, as usual at this time, I'm too drunk too argue the main point (if I could remember what it was).

I thought we were hypothesizing (sp?) over an attractive girl winner bringing new players in ie being good marketing for PPP and my argument kinda is that an idiot winner (Moneymaker/Yang/Gold) gives hope to and brings new guys in, and similarly, a girl next door could bring new ladies in, but I don't see how a fit, intelligent, assertive girl brings new players of any demographic in.

    Depends how you market her.

You know she is fit, assertive etc. However that is not how I would market her. Place some stories about how a girl who was an interviewer for a website picks up the game along the way and plays the IO along with her very successful poker pro boyfriend and vastly outstrips his performance in the tournament etc.

Im all for the equal sexes kayroo, but how many married women do you think stay up till 4,5,6 am playing online compared to men ? i would give you 100/1

i dont think internet poker is aimed at ANY women, just look at the adds.

they have there market, and if a fine chick wins, all it shows is look...you can beat a man !!

I am not saying you are gonna suddenly get a slew of grinders but I'd defo say there is a market for during the day play, just as there is with the online bingo market.

Kara played really well over the tourney, particularly today. She never once deviated from having an absolutely brilliant attitude to the whole tournament, being polite to well wishers and fully understanding the vibe around the place, not to mention playing top class poker. Believe me, some crazy **** was going on...

She plays poker very well, and was purely unlucky...remember, Christer, was more or less out but for spiking a 7 on the river to split a pot which Kara had flopped the nut straight.

Having said that, Christer is a worthy champ and winner. I thought his call to win the tournament was pretty awesome.

I would just Like to congratulate PaddyPowerPoker and Noel Hayes for putting on one of the most enjoyable poker events that i have been to . The buzz around the place was brilliant and even though you would meet someone just after recieving a kick in the bollix 1 outer bad beat they would most probably be smiling again 5 mins later. The casino promotion was great with all the free beer tokens (I think there is a lot of people with multiple casino accounts now)The bar entertainment was great with the beatles tribute band being top class along with the double act from waterford whom i would say have most the casino accounts by now , Also the internet access which kept my daughter occupied and the heads-up machine which my son made a few euro's on over the weekend by playing for a fiver a pop ( little Gamblin Degen), one the the best moment's of the weekend was when he had Jenifer Tilly on her knees in the lobby autographing his carickature (sp?) and then asking me who she was as he was only asking her could she get Phil laak to sign it for him( very funny). All in all I had a great time with my family and a great time at the cash tables, I just hope i can qualify for the ME next year.
    Regards ...Damo

That sure was funny :D .. Did he get Phil Laak's autograph? we went back inside before the interview was finished.

All in all it was a great weekend. Unlucky that Tony never went further, but I suppose thats poker. Was fantastic meeting more boardsies and having a chat with Hot Michael Greco :p

Excuse me Sir, but i would like to think i am a bit more mature and worldly than that. Dominos brings me dinner between World Of Warcraft sessions nowadays.
