There's 4 soldiers standing outside the bank of Ireland on Main street holding riffles. Anyone know what's going on?

They're transferring money from the bank, it's pretty standard AFAIK to have the army defending the money.

Fair play for not leaving it until the last second... I always do that even though it wrecks my own head.

Its a cash in transit (CIT) escort, they are pretty common, its part of the army's Aid To the Civil Power (ATCP) role, they have been goin on for ages,

i'm not too sure on when they started but the killing of Gerry Mccabe, made them a big necessity,

the really stupid thing is that it is only in the last 2 or so years that banks have had to pay the cost of these escorts......

WINRAWR. I truly wish I could claim this, but I cant.

on a lighter note what does winrawr stand for?????

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,283 ✭✭✭PrivateEye

    Thank god for the internet:
    WINRAWR.

    Originates from the word 'Winrar'

1)Winrar is an old outdated program made at least 100 years ago. It's main use is to keep porn from being seen by Script kiddies moms.

2)Someone/Something who wins. The polar opposite of fail.

AGHH! Less than 24 hours left to learn off approximately twenty lengthy derivations, boo. Will I be spotting anyone in the reading room/library?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,195 ✭✭✭✭Michellenman

Not right now but I'll be there tomorrow. 12 weeks of classes to learn in one night... oh noes.

What-hups!! The college nurse rocks, she saved me money on going Doctor, so I spent my doctor money on wine....and scarves...and a hat...and two pretty tumblers.

She's there?! Are they do appointments or can you just walk in? I presume it's not as busy cause the majority of people aren't in Maynooth. Has the doctor service been open all summer?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 9,878 ✭✭✭Rozabeez

The doctor isn't there, just walked into the nurse and she got the chemist to give me an emergency prescription instead of having to go to the doctor.

Is the pool open, by any chance?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,195 ✭✭✭✭Michellenman

Surely is. Been packed apparently though.

God, in 12 hours I sit my first written repeat out of 7.

My nerves were shot today, and I'm pretty sure I should've had medical attention at one point with my chest (Heart palpations: seriously, if it happens again tomorrow, I will go to the Dr) but I think I'll be OK.

    Good Luck
    to everyone doing repeats!

i had planned on adding a lolcat but can't find one to suit the occasion and also figured banquo has the number on lolcats so probably safest to stick with fancy colours :D

Hello new internet pals (too soon?)
I go to Maynooth. This place looks a bit fun... Good luck repeaters!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,283 ✭✭✭PrivateEye

I'm not doing repeats, but deemed that Thanksworthy due to its colourfull nature and the fact it made me smile.

If you're doing repeats: You the (wo)man, and grab 'em by the balls.
