    Have to say I thought it would be better than that - to the best of my knowledge, UL have a 10 Gig connection to HEANet, with the max speed limited to 1 Gig..
    (Now why can't I get that.... ;) )

    As far as I know network infrastructure is distributed across the campus to various buildings. There is probably some sharing of that bandwidth as a result.

    Plus there's always a crap load of undergrads down the VAX!

    This was my friends dongle as I have the 3 one as i hate it so much. my figures are very low but with O2 it just blew mw away.

    I hope this is the right thread for this. I have the following result on aspeed test. which is consistent for my experiance at home....I presume this is terrible !? I have a 3mb connection from Eircom. I got this by following some of the advice below on speed tests. I also checked the advanced DSL settings on Netopia and it Say Max Allowed 160.

    Does this mean I just have a crappy line or should Eircome be able to help ?
