I don't think he meant all irish women, from the way I read the op, he meants its only irish women that do this, and from my experience he's right, I've only ever bein told to f*ck off by irish girls, Anytime i've ever tried to chat up a non national or a tourist or whatever, i get a conversation goin or at least a polite "sorry i'm not interested"... Thats not to say I don't chat up irish girls, I do, but i've found its only the irish girls (the odd one here and there) that will tell you to f*ck off straight away!! Rudeness FTL...

    How you doin? :p

nah i find it hard to be rude when out, doesnt cost anything to be nice to someone, what goes around comes around, so maybe one day they will be told to **** off!

Im a girl and what i do find is most girls i see out at the weekend are up themself, but my god some guys are to.

Women can suffer from "sense of entitlement" a bit too much. For example, when holding a door for someone. Men are a lot more likely to do this than women. I've seen a man hold a door out for a woman and the woman just slide through, never mind a "thank you", she doesn't even acknowledge it, as if it were expected of the bloke.

You see it all the time on the roads too. A man lets a woman through and again, no acknowledgement that he has done her a bit of a favour. Some women expect others (especially men) to bow down to down just because they are a woman. Great example there of equality, girls.

There are sad women out there who will take these polite gestures as proof positive that the man fancies her. "He held a door open for me, he's into me" What?! So, if a man holds a door open for another man he must be gay?

    ^
That said, women don't always go to nightclubs to pick up guys, I don't know where that notion has come from. Sometimes it can be annoying when your boyfriend has gone to the toilets to be suddenly sequestered by guys. In this case the best thing to do is politely decline, not tell someone to "f off".

The "in yer fookin dreams pal" response is not a standard trait of Irish women. I'm sick of hearing this 'Eastern European/Asian Girls are so much more approachable' crap. Go to Poland, and try your luck in a Polish nightclub and see how far you get!

The approachability thing is majorly affected by two factors:

    1. Irish women are more accustomed to the typical drunken advances they get in an Irish club
    2. When you're in a foreign country, with little cultural context, you tend to be more approachable, as you are trying to make friends and establish yourself in a new country.

The fact is that some people are rude, and yes some of them are Irish women, but so are some Irish men etc etc ZZZzzzzzzz

I tend to get more positive responces amongst the locals here in Berlin than I ever did in Dublin. At lease the deciles are polite, anyway.

Everything I don't like is either woke or fascist - possibly both - pick one.

I have chatted up quite the few ladies of many nationalities in my time and I can say that in my experience Irish girls have been the most ignorant of all, at times displaying a level of arrogance and conceit I've not seen in any other nationality.

Recently got told to f'off by some D4 girl, not nice OP but you gotta hang in there, there are some nice ladies out there! (almost have myself convinced...)

I have to say, I really don't understand that attitude. I have a friend like that - if a guy she's not interested in tries to chat her up in a nightclub, she'll tell him to f*ck off straightaway. I, on the other hand, really don't see the need to be so nasty straight out of the gate.

I've been chatted up by some absolute feckin chancers in my time, but I'm always polite and pleasant to them. I think only once I've had to tell a guy to f*ck off, and that was after about 20 minutes of incessant "But you are interested. But you are. Yes, you are." Interestingly enough, that was a foreign guy - go figure.

    well,

i as a lady - tend to attract every odd-ball in any area i am in...

And, have to say sometimes i just want to be left alone...
i've had it more than once or twice that someone lad is staring at me (thinking he's successfully giving me the eye but looks more like, somethings wrong with him) and despite the fact he can actually see how uncomfortable i am with even just him staring... he still decides to come over and start bothering me.

(i consider it bothering me when you can see im completely uncomfortable and still persist)

    QUOTE]

Very familiar, any female who tells a man to f*** off just because he approached her is not a lady. If someone is very drunk I'll most likely announce that I have to go and walk away but I wouldn't be rude to somebody polite who had the courage to approach me.

She was just playing hard to get. Keep at it OP. Chin up head high.

Some of them get really dedicated too. Like this girl my friend fancies. She's changed her number, moved house and got a barring order against him. Now personally I think she's taking it a bit far but I know they'll make a lovely couple in the end. Plus it will make a great story to tell their children in years to come.

    LOL:D

Lots of Irish girls (I'm Irish too) seem to think they are absolute princesses and way too good for most of the guys nice enough to approach them. The Polish girls(Or German or anywhere else) mostly have much nice manners than Irish girls. I totally understand why guys would like Polish girls.

I do often wonder why Irish people have this worldwide reputation for being so friendly. I think a lot of us Irish are anything but friendly.

Just feel glad that the really nasty horrible bitches make themselves known so easily these days before they have a chance to break your heart and steal your soul.

Iv been shot down like that before :( by and irish girl in sydney :P
Been turned down a few times at home but alot nicer.
In Norway i found a girl would make an excuse and leave :P
In UK i found the lady wanted to talk more cuase she loved the accent :P
In asia i was beating the women away from me :P even non asia women
In ozz women love to chat, for you to hit on them and even if you dont come away with a lady from it iv ended up being introducted to the ladys friends, family, to live with them all after a few drinks and an original chat up. So Irish girls get your act together, go to the pub, socialise, be friendly and have fun :D no need to ruin someone elses night for no reason, unfortunately the irish girls reading this arent the ones that need to.

The best is when you strike up a conversation with a chick out of pure boredom, like I would say hello to a girl and not even find her the least bit attractive, just saying hello and all of a sudden they look at you like you've four heads, I just smile and turn away from them instantly. And what I would be thinking to myself, which is also fact (they go hand in hand :P) is, you should be so lucky I'm ****ing talking to you, because look around, no one else is. You fugly bitch.

Hate these ignorant girls, in conclusion :)

'Irish Wimmen' this and 'Foreign Wimmen that'

    Y. A. W. N.

GET OVER IT ALREADY - Sheesh

I would never tell a guy to **** off, i might belittle him with an 'as if' look if i thought he looked like a cocky fcuker and was acting like i should feel honoured that he was gracing me with his presence... 'Irish Men' they are SO cocky these days *SIGH* why cant they be more like their foreign counter parts and romance a woman properly and not get drunk or abusive or go around in packs attempting to chat a woman up while staring at her tits...

I for one preder Irish Men - for all their faults! I dont personally know any men that would prefer to be going out with a foreign girl to an irish one... So guys in AH, stop trying to convince us 'Irish Wimmen' that we are somehow lesser than than the foreign girls (who are indeed lovely in their own right, but no lovlier than our own) as I for one, am not buying it.

Ah you get them everywhere mate, I was in a pub one night chatting to this girl for a few mins, she went off for a bit and I chatted to her mate for two mins then she thought I was coming on to her and ignores me which is cool, so my mate comes over and we start chatting about 5 mins later she turns round and goes.

"Jesus, would you ever **** off NOT INTERESTED"

"Em...ok but i'm not standing here to talk to you ya ignorent bitch, i'm talking to my mate!"

    Shut her up quick enough...

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,017 ✭✭✭Bendihorse

No not saying anyones lying, but i dont PERSONALLY know any that would actively seek out a foreign girl as opposed to an irish one... And i have asked! It would seem that theres a bit of a stygma attached as in 'Polish/Eastern European girls are desperate to hook up with irish men, any irish man' (for what reason i dont know and i didn't say it) so its not a brag to be scoring one... *shrug*

Please dont berate me for repeating what im hearing from 'Irish Men'

While driving, at a crossroad or a gate or whatever, women rarely let you out.
