It's in bits at the moment. Both my 580s are in for RMA. 8600GT in the at the minute. They'll have blocks on them when I get them back. You can't see them, but there's also four mechanical HDDs in there, and an SSD.

Is that an xspc rasa waterblock?

  • Moderators, Technology & Internet Moderators Posts: 18,377 Mod ✭✭✭✭Solitaire

The weenie 8600GT looks soooo out of place in there!:D

  • Registered Users Posts: 7,180 ✭✭✭Serephucus

Yup, that's the Rasa. Lovely block.

Solitaire, it's an 8400GS, I don't even have the luxery of an old gaming card, I have a card that was crap even when it was released. :P There would be two 580s in there, if EK bothered to include correct instructions with their blocks.

Do you really need to upgrade though. I've a similar spec, Q6600, 4GBs 1GB 4870 and it handles everything I throw at it. Saying that it's been too long since I've upgraded (over 2 years now) so I'm starting to feel the itch.

I Want to get a 1920x1080 monitor too, and I'd like to play games with decent framerates (:

Redid mine about a week and a half ago.... Tubing was getting a bit knackered & problems with the motherboard.
went from a double loop into a single loop instead, got myself a nice aqua computer dual pump top from watercooling.co.uk

    Anyway the old
    PCFlashshot-1.jpg

    The new
    keep1.jpg

The old board was a Asus P6T Deluxe V2 went tits up started to bsod when enabling HT on the processor, other problems power on nothing happens, tons of problems with that board really pissed me off so I went out and grabbed a sabertooth board instead.

Really need to take some better pics and give it a ol' dusting these pics aren't doing it any favors at all..

actually, do you have any problems with it? any regrets? it looks nice and im in the market for a HTPC.

No, still using it, can't see myself parting with it for a long time. It's a great case very quiet. Only issue I have with it is the IR receiver often misses commands.

yea i think i read about it needing direct line of site.

ive just bid for 1 on ebay for £50, but the bids are flying in and there's still 2 days to go :(

Fantastic setup. I'm jealous! How's the FPS on Bad Company 2 on that?

    Cheers,

It seems to jump between 52fps/58fps depending on the amount of action on screen (shoots up to 300 when loading :P ) and I've seen it flying past 60 a few times but as I said I think it varies quite a bit. Will give it a good burn later and pass on the results.

Gonna be OC'ing it but tbh im not too sure where to start.

Also kudos to SINK for the idea about the 3 monitors....... GENIUS!!!!!!

I'm much too tired... I was looking at the first picture wondering why the case was screwed to the side of cabinet. :(

It looks . That eyefinity setup is just about fitting in. It goes to show that it's still possible with a reasonable size desk.

Nice rig, though I don't know why you feel the need for 1Gbit throughput with a 4x stripe.

Also, what are you doing that needs 24GB of RAM?

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,315 ✭✭✭deceit

Just taught I would post some pictures of mine since its been changed with an extra rad, a side window, new motherboard, new cpu block and a few other things.
Just too point out the res is only temperary until I get a drive by res that can fit my d5 pump into. I will also be putting a 47mm rad at the bottom with push/pull fans, the black ones at the bottom and more of the xigmatek ones on top too give the bottom of the case a bit of light.
Sorry if the pics aint the best quality, dont have a good camera.
Also just too point out the silver fittings will be replaced with black nickel ones when they are delivered

Just decided to go the eyefinity route as had 3 spare 1920*1200 monitors. Looks a little messy as in the process of setting it up and aligning the monitors tidying etc but you get the idea :)
