Thought I'd check in as well...

Training is going ok, keeping it regular anyway. My left shoulder is a little stiff the last few days, so that's slowed me down a little but should be ok in a few days hopefully. It'll be rested over the weekend.

The diet has slipped a little since the challenge. Not a whole lot, but the odd bit of chocolate has crept back in! Will be trying to keep it a little cleaner in general, but at the same time we're allowed the odd treat aren't we? ;)

Have a wedding in Sligo this weekend, a cousin, but I don't think it will be the same kind of heavy session as if it were a mate's.

    Weight on 14/5 - 103kg, waist = 38 inches (approx)

    Weight on 1/6 - 100.5kg, waist = 36.25 inches (approx)

    Weight on 3/6 - don't know, waist = 36 inches, Caliper's = 16ish (to 17)mm

    Weight on 8/6 - 99.94kg, waist = 35.9999 inches, calipers = 16ish mm

    Weight on 15/6 - 99.1kg, waist = 35.5 inches, calipers = 16mm

The weight loss is continuing slowly but surely. I've dropped 4kg in a month and 2.5 inches off my waist so I must be doing something right.

Strength's staying pretty high, I've been consistently hitting PR's for the last few weeks.

Things are looking quite decent all round. There's a hint of abs starting to show too.

Reached one of my goals last night -

So now I can do this thankfully -
Goal 1 - Complete Couch to 5 KM running plan

Okay, so it wasn't the plan exactly but it got the same result. The plan just felt it was moving too slow for me so I went my own way.

There was a minor problem during the process though -
Everything was going fine until 3.7 KM when the treadmill completely died, everything went off and wouldn't start again.

So I jumped onto the one next to it and completed my last 1.3 KM on that one (without managing to break it thankfully).

Due to the display cutting out on the first machine I don't have an exact time that I completed it in but I make it out it was about 29 Mins (21.30 Min Machine 1, 30 seconds machine change, 7 Mins machine 2).

So I was kind of disappointed about the small break in the middle but since I know I can do it now I have no excuse anymore.

Next goal is to hit 90KG before the end of this 80 days module. Not sure if thats going to happen though, the loss has started to slow a bit as expected now and only about 6 weeks left.

C-13 - you have made me realise I need a solid goal like the 5km thing. I have been saying lose weight etc etc.
Well I've been doing great since last Thurs. 2 personal training sessions, finally made it to crossfit, am going there tomorrow too. Also couple of trips to the forest with the dogs. Have to say I'm feeling great. My diet needs big time organising though - I found when I was working it was much easier to keep normal eating times.

I was recommended the couch to 5k plan link here
and think it's a great idea - it's motivation to get in 3 sessions a week and it's definitely great seeing improvements. I'll be starting back to it on Monday - did the first 2 weeks and then my schedule went haywire due to travel, work and weddings! But will definitely be getting back to it :D

Haven't checked in here in a while, have been just logging in my fitness log. Doing ok, 2 weeks left to my hols and have dropped 2lb probably not realistic to think I am gonna drop another 5 lb in two weeks , so new goal is to get to 9'9 that is another 3lb which can be done. Have a wedding tommorrow which will probably put a spanner in the works but I will get back on track sat. I will try and get a run in on sat, and to the gym on sunday.

Hope everyone else is doing ok and still on there own little misssion :D

I'm still tipping along. Been low carbing it since Monday, had a high carb day yesterday and will probably have another one on Sunday. I'll be checking my weight on Sunday morning so itll be interesting to see where I'm at. If I'm not ar 97.99kg or below, I won't be impressed.

I'm still going too after a 'slight' lapse ;) Started a 4 week challenge for myself on Monday - with a goal of fitting into my jeans and sticking to healthy eating/organised eating and an exercise plan for the duration. Aim to complete the Couch to 5k - or at the very least continue it, it's a 9 week plan, I'm at week 3..

Had a boxercise class last night, which I warmed up for with a 2km jog - was pretty warmed up alright!!

Measurements etc. are in my log - was glad to see that I hadn't done 'too' much damage during my break!! Have been following individuals logs and it's a great help to keep on track myself!

Still kicking along here too, the weight loss has slowed down a bit much for my liking at the moment but what can you do except continue ... Still, feeling better than I have in a long time so thats something !

I had the bright idea of getting my niece to take photos of me in bra and knickers the other day as motivation - the most de motivating thing I have ever, ever done. My God I'm still in shock. Also, which is typical me being a bit drunk, I decided to email them to my p trainer pointing out the general horrible- ness of the physical situation. Oh the embarrassment. Have to face him tomorrow as well so all in all - disaster!

Good to see there is still a good few people involved ! Went to the wedding yesterday and made a pig of myself with food & drink. Back on track today though because I only have 12 days to my hols!!! WOnt get to the gym today but tommorrow I will get up there .

Back to the gym to do weights today, have been really struggling the last couple of weeks to motivate myself. I was away the weekend before last, and went on a bender with the booze, so last week was more or less a write-off.

I was out last weekend as well, so today wasn't easy. I'm hoping I can get back into the rhythm, but as I say, my motivation is the lowest it's been for a long time for some reason. I suppose it's other things going on in my life as well, not really feeling the best about certain things, I think it's dragging me down a bit.

Diet is ok, not the worst but could be a little bit better. I think I need to eat a bit more of the right foods the next few days to get some energy back.

    Weight on 14/5 - 103.5kg, waist = 38 inches (approx)

    Weight on 1/6 - 100.5kg, waist = 36.25 inches (approx)

    Weight on 3/6 - don't know, waist = 36 inches, Caliper's = 16ish (to 17)mm

    Weight on 15/6 - 99.1kg, waist = 35.5 inches, calipers = 16mm

    Weight on 5/7 - 96.86kg, waist = <35.5, >35 inches, calipers = 15/16mm

Been low carbing (for me, that equals 100ish g per day) for the past 2 weeks or so now. I reckon quite a bit of the weight that's gone in the last two weeks has been glycogen/crap stuck in my stomach.

I'm basing that off the fact that my waist hasn't come down a huge amount. But that being said, my love handle area's down about an inch in that time.

So yeah, that's almost 7kg down since mid may. That's over a stone... Strength is still looking quite good. I don't think I've much more weight to go now before I'm within cutting distance.

Well done my measurements this morning and there is some changes again , 2 days left for my hols ! I will weigh myself wed morning for my final weigh in before my hols. I have decided that when I get back I am gonna keep on with my log and if I put on anything on hols ( which I am sure I will) that will help with getting it off !

Still here too - had a few cheat moments over the weekend but nothing too bold :) Measurements tomorrow night.. don't feel a difference but may be wrong! (I hope..)

    Hi Everyone,
Haven't posted in a while but I'm still here. Went to the States for a couple of weeks at the end of the 8 week challenge, they serve such massive portions, my jaw dropped whenever food was brought my table. But since I got I think I've lost more weight, just from continuing my healthy diet as a matter of course.

I ran my 10km race yesterday (The British London 10km), that was always my main goal when I started the challenge. :D
Did it in 49 minutes, I know that I could have done it in < 45, but I started at the back of the field and literally spent the whole race ducking and diving and overtaking (25000 in the race)! That was the first time I ever did a proper race, but I know now that if you want to take it seriously, you'll have to arrive early and get a good place in the field. But I'm happy with my achievement and my shiney(ish) gold medal :)

Ok, so for the next couple of months I'm going to focus on speed, I'll do a couple of 5km runs a week, see if I can do it in < 20 mins (21:15 is my best) and I'll get back into lifting weights, I'll be going to the gym 2/3 time a week, going to see if I can build up some physique, I'm sure a change of diet will be in order, I'll need to do a bit of reading.

Well done everyone, keep up the good work! :D

Blah - Fair play man thats good going !

I'm still here too, Total loss of 6.3 KG so far and hoping to drop a further 4.9 in the next 25 days. I'm doubtful that its going to happen but ill get it as low as possible.

At the end of the 25 days ill be heading home for two weeks so I wont be watching the foor/drink intake as closely.

Then ill be back for another 90 day stint.

I've also learned that my weight has odd fluctuations (I weight every day), I could be 3 KG higher after my cheat day and still go for a total loss on my official weigh in day. Which is odd. Ah well as long as its going down I dont mind.

Also tried on a shirt I purposely bought too small nearly 2 months ago, fits very nicely now. So i'm pretty happy at the minute.

And well done C-13 too - that's a really decent weight loss but a big aim for the next 25 days too!! Best of luck - but stay healthy ;)

hi all, just fyi I've merged the Rules sticky and the challenge sticky for housekeeping.

So folks I'm still around, been plugging away at Sheiko for what now seems like forever. I finished the first cycle and then took a full week off, I've just finished the first week of the competition cycle. My bench has already over taken my old PB so that's fantastic. Squatting is also improving, I seem to be getting deeper and more stable with them as the weeks go on. I'm happy with my deadlifting too, I didn't think Sheiko was going to do much for it because it's not very deadlift intensive but I got a 110kg rackpull the other day (about an inch or two below the knee). Overall I'm very happy, I've another four weeks of this before I have to consider my options again!! :)

Just wanted to note that i'm currently 10 days away from finishing out my 80 days time period. Not going to hit my target of 90KG but i'm not too annoyed about that, I knew I was being a bit unrealistic.

Ill be taking a 2 week time out after that and then back to the gym again.

Tried on an old pair of jeans the weekend and they fit again, which is nice.

Well done c-13, I hadn't realised but ya - my 4 week challenge ends tomorrow as I head off on hols :o I know I haven't achieved my goals - but I have kept up the regular exercise and have kept an eye on the quality of the foods that I eat.

My jogging has improved - but I haven't kept it as a primary focus as I thought I would. I still make sure that I spend 10 mins warm up jogging before I do anything else to keep up what I've achieved.. but need to get back to the Couch to 5k when I get back.

I guess the summer is a bad time for goals as holidays and breaks hamper progression. That's my experience of this anyway! Having said that - it's great to have goals to stop you sliding into old habits :D

Well Im back and need to get back on track so as of today I am back on my challenge. Did do measurements and there is definatley increases in all of them but hey I was on hols and thats aloud. Just want to get back on track as before my hols I was doing quite well and the inches were dropping and so was the scales. I wont be getting on the scales though that would just discourage me a little to much for the time being meausement will be my guide ! Hope everyone else is well and going strong !

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,234 ✭✭✭Malteaser!

I'm also back on the challenge from today. I'm going to Paris in a few weeks and I want to be feeling and looking great for that, I also have a few other bits and bobs in the weeks following my Paris trip that I want to be in tip top shape for!

I took my measurements this morning, and I was a little bit surprised by the results. None of them have gone down but none of them have gone up by a huge amount either and most of them have actually stayed the same!! My waist is always the first to go up though, it's actaully gone up by an inch and a half :o so that's the one of the main things that I'll be focused on. Tbh my real problem is that I'm looking a bit softer than I'm used to so as well as getting the waist measurement down I'll be looking to tone up!!! Yes, I said it....I want to get toned. :D :P :D

So without further ado, the measurements (in inches)...

    Waist: 26.5
    Hips: 32.5
    Bum: 36
    Gunzzz: 10.5
    Wrist: 6
    Calf: 13.5
    Thigh: 18.75

You may have noticed that I didn't put in my weight, that's because I haven't got it. This whole thing isn't about losing pounds, I'm *really* not arsed about what the scales says, I'd much rather rely on photos, of which I have taken many. I may post them up at a later date but I'm too scared to now!!! :o

    Weight on 5/8 - Dunno, waist = 35.25 inchs, calipers = 16mm

Plesantly surprised with that actaully. I was expecting everything to be up because I've just been pigging out for the last week or two. I guess all the weight I dropped in the weeks before my comp gave me an extra buffer.

I THINK my weight's around 98kg at the moment. Basically I wanna lose at least 3kg from whatever my weight's at now. I'm targeting 94.5kg as the figure. Which should leave me around 12-13% bodyfat. That means a caliper reading of around 12-13mm.
