Just a quick update,i've been extremely busy over the past week or so but i have managed to keep my diet in check.Training hasn't been going great, but im glad that I have at least stayed on top of my worst enemy,my diet.

Feeling pretty good at the minute. Food is going well I think and the gym is starting to come along as well. Fat seems to be coming down pretty fast.

I'm setting a goal to see if I can reach 90KG before I go home (58 Days) from a start weight of 102KG (80 Days). If I do well and good, if I don't, ah well. This gym/eating is for the long term now so i'll get there eventually. I have a lot of fat to get rid of.

Looks like the dieting is going decently enoguh so far. I woulda liked to be under 100kg today, but I was a little bit off. Not to worry tho. Another 4.51kg or so to go and I should be right where I want to be.

    Weight on 3/6 - don't know, waist = 36 inches, Caliper's = 16ish (to 17)mm

I think alot of the waist size decrease is down to a reduction in bloating. I've eaten sweet FA sodium heavy processed food in the last few weeks so I imagine the drop is a result of my stomach clearing itself out.

I'm still running creatine, but only at 5g a day now, so there's still probably some water being retained. I'll probably drop it 2 weeks out from the comp to let my body start flushing itself and get nearer to contest weight.

At long last I feel human again :D Missed out on a whole week last week, so I'm back to square one. Haven't taken measurements, but did a weigh in on Sunday morning and I was 9st 12lbs. So I'm happy that it hasn't crept back up on the scales if nothing else.

Went for a jog last night, with walking breaks.. but lasted an hour up and down the canal, was happy with my progress, definitely a lot better than I was but still way too many breaks for my liking! Must get some kind of stop watch so that I can integrate my couch to 5k plan into this as opposed to gym only.

Walked to work today, 40mins brisk walk and was nicely warmed up arriving into the office. Will go for jog in gym this evening to start week two of the plan. Hope I'm up for it, if not I'll have to go back to week 1, which would be annoying.

Not going to take measurements weekly either, fortnightly is enough for me I think. Especially during the summer, so many interruptions! Heading to a festival on Thursday so I know my diet/exercise is out the window again until the following Wednesday going well!!

Ah cool, I'm down the Ranelagh side, so it's up towards Kilmainham direction and back down for me :D nearly stood on a duck too last nite, got some shock! Like he was camouflaged into the grass on the path!! That'd be one way of putting me of jogging :D

LOL, off topic but I actually did that to a pigeon before hopped over a small wall and landed on him. I dont know who was more shocked - me or him. They're surprisingly squishy, and this one flew away after all 100KG of me landing on him so dont let that put you off :D

Hahaha priceless, I have to say the worst part of jogging, espically down by the canal is the amount of flys / midgets.
Whenever I get out of breath at all, I take a deep breath and swallow a mouthfull, although I'm sure they're full of protein!

A mouthfull of Midgets? I think I saw a movie about that before, "The Midget Bones Diary"

I was expecting my weight to be up a bit this week because my diet was a bit all over the shop. I've cleaned it up alot in the last 2 days and stopped adding salt to any of my food so I'm guessing that's what accounts for the drop.

Still, first time my waist's been 35.something inches in a long time!

haven't been lifting any weights the last week or so.

body isn't able for it with GAA games and training along with that. so we're back this week hopefully. find it very hard to focus on skillwork at training if I have been at the gym 2 days beforehand.

I don't really think i need to lose any weight. the trousers are hanging off me. going to concentrate on core strength work, upper body stuff and introduce some plyometrics slowly in the next few weeks

So I'm two weeks into Sheiko, just another two weeks to go, oh and then another five on top of that. I've decided to definately run the Sheiko competition cycle after this, it's five weeks long and by all accounts not as tough as this one but we'll see about that.

This week I haven't been suffering at all with DOMs. It's surprising how quickly they went away, in week 1 I was literally barely able to walk, they were so bad but this week I haven't felt it at all!! My hips do feel incredibly tight though, I think it was because I was squatting yesterday afternoon then I went out on the back of a bike to Howth - sitting straddled across the sadle of a bike for 30-45 minutes and then back again after some heavy squatting tends to leave you in bits! :D I hope to get up to the gym at some stage today for some stretching and possibly some core if that instructor is in to show me new stuff!!

Anyways, I finally got around to taping some of my lifts again, this video is my fourth set with 52.5kg x 2.

Holy crap you can go low for such a narrow stance. If I want to go that low I have to stand with feet just outside shoulder width.

On a personal note, I'm still not happy with my diet. Its not strict enough, I just need to get into the shopping for decent food mode rather than just making something that's already at home.

Lifting is going ok (ashamed of my form after seeing that vid ), I want to improve chins and dips though, actually pathetic at them.

My legs and back are starting to lean up nicely. They always seem to be the first to get any real shape to them....

Believe me when I say this, it has taken me *such* a long time to be able to squat like that. It's literally taken the guts of a year, constantly dropping back to lighter weights to improve form and then working back up again, taking my stance in then widening it again but I'm finally happy with what I'm doing now, don't get me wrong, I still see a load of things I need to work on but they're not things I need to be overly concerned about right now - they'll sort themselves out in time!!

btw, here's a video of my bench from yesterday just in case anyone is interested, it's only 30kg x 2.

-I look like a cat setting up

-I have a really big arch

-It looks like my whole bum isn't touching the bench, it *definitely* is. My leggings go right up to my belly button and when I pull myself up towards the bar, my top rides up so you can see more of the leggings and it looks like my bum is higher up than it actually is. Just as an aside, in a competition there's a 50% rule, that's to say 50% of your bum must be in contact with the bench, I know that mine is but I don't like the way it looks like it isn't.

-30kg is *way* too easy. When working out the numbers for Sheiko you basically work out certain percentages of your max lifts and slot them into the program - my 'max' is 37.5kg. I've never actually lifted it, but it was obvious that I could do it, it's starting to look like I should have used 40kg as a base. The volume may be intense but the weights are easy, I think I may adjust the rest of my benching from here on in to be 2.5kg more than what I wrote out originally.

(Btw Ham, your back looks amazing in that picture!!!)

That's actually highly insulting... that's a painted wall. Can you imagine how long that took us to do???? Seriously. It was a horrible slog putting on base coats and then taping it all up to paint the strips in :D

Us??? lolz. I think I gave up after one wall!! :D I never had the patience for that kinda thing!!

So last night I did core. Oh wow, is all I can say. The guy who did out the program wasn't there but one of the other lads who I've known years came over to help me with it. The thing is though, he pushed me harder than I ever would have pushed myself. The program is all supersets with very little rest periods between sets and he was timing me the whole time, making sure I didn't slack off. When I was finished I actually lay on the ground, in a pool of sweat for about five minutes trying to stop the sick I could feel in my throat from coming up!!

Highlights included me falling into a fit of laughter every time I attempted to do planks with my feet on one bozu ball and my arms on the other and me falling off the bozu ball with a bar on my back after trying and failing to do weighted squats on it.
