Just got some brown cm so i guess AF is going to follow shortly. :( That means my lutheal phase is only 9 days. I've been taking vitamin b complex as i read that it can help lengthen it. Has anyone any thoughts?

I am actually sitting in work trying not to cry :(. I am so weary of feeling this disappointment every month. How do you all stay sane?

    Hi Yellow hen

Im taking the pregnacare conception I have read online that some women stopped taking it as it was lengthening their cycle by up to 3 days, so I have started taking it as I have a short lutheal phase , I also read that red raspberry leaf tea can lengthen it even more and red clover tea helps although i have not taken either, but im going to see can i get some this week :) I hope you get good news this month and you wont need it ;)

Hey custard cream, hope your day got better from this morning. There are definitely days that are worse than others where it seems to hard to muster the positivity for the next month. However, onwards we go, shur what else is there?!

Fluffyduck, I might resort to your suggestion next month if I need to. I tried agnus castus before but then had a very very heavy period so quit it as I got a bit nervous.

I got the same browny mucus again this evening at almost the same time. Defo feel likes it AF this time though, I think the cm is just old blood possibly from the laparoscopy or something. Feel like **** at the mo, work is crap and I am just so tired and rundown.

Too tired to even have a glass of wine on valentines day :eek:

Oh feel better soon yellow hen, although it's not over until the hussy shows up....fingers crossed for you

Hugs to you too custard, it's so not easy....

Feeling crappy myself 4dpo and having loads of cramping and an abundance of watery cm. Am all over the place. Have no idea what's going on and haven't the energy to obsess about it either....all I know is I feel like poop and want to bury myself in bed.

    Big hugs yellow hen :(

I had my second acupuncture appointment today. Jesus it was long. But it hurt today, I was getting really bad contractiony type cramps throughout which apparently is a good sign. My ovulation sticks are running out fast and I still have no idea of when I'm ovulating. My husband is away so I hope that it happens over the weekend while he is home :(

I just have a funny feeling about a particular date in November that I think I'm gonna end up having a babby, so we shall see. Here's hoping.

    Happy valentines days everyone :)

Whoopsa I am completely hooked on accu, it sounds like its all positive for you too!! My lady has been an absolute godsend, great to talk to aswell. I am liking your hunch too and hoping its correct for you :) my brother is getting married in Novemer and my hubby is convinced I'll be the size of a house for it....haha bring it on I say :)

It's really weird, baby aspirin (Nu seals 75mg) is now prescription only here. However you can just buy a pack of Dispirin in any supermarket and take a quarter tablet a day, which is the exact same. So in high doses you can buy aspirin just about anywhere but in low doses you need a prescription.

Oh really? That makes no sense at all! I could only find the 325mg tablets and couldn't work out how I was going to cut them correctly. Thanks for he dispirin tip though never thought of those, will put them on my shopping list!

Hey all Iv not been on boards in awhile but yesterday I was at my fertility appointment in the rotunda hospital in Dublin and it was a nightmare. I was put on Clomid back in october but my cycles are allover the place because of PCOS and well I only started the clomid in November and still not gotten AF and the last few days on and off Iv had the lightest of brown spottin when i wipe (sorry TMI) and When I tried to tell my specialist yesterday she wouldnt listen then I got moved onto another specialist in the next room and well she sat tellin me I dont have PCOS which I was DX with in 2005. she then wrote me a perscription for primolut N and more Clomid. To cut a long story short she sent me on my way and didnt explain what the primolut N was for and said make a follow up appointment for 3 months time so I did and just as I was leaving I noticed the label (sticker) at the top wasnt mine so I went back to the receptionist and she changed it all for me and gave me a new appointment. whats really bugging me is she was reading me someone elses file and she obviously had no PCOS but now am wondering if primolut N should be used or not, has anyone else been given this and what have you been given it for. also Im going to do a HPT tomorrow just to make sure thats ruled out

sorry its so long:( but I need the help :)

    Hi All
Im a long time reader of this thread , hope your all doing well. We have been TTC for last year or so but my period stopped in November and hasnt returned. i went to the docs , did bloods etc and was diagnosed with PCOS. I knew i had it since i was 21 but i was told it was very mild back then.

So since November i have been on low gi diet( well trying my best) lost 16 pounds so far. Period hasnt retured ! Last week i got a referral from my GP to go to the Rotunda. i got my appointment letter today and its for APRIL 2013?? A year and two months away??

Would you guys know if this is the normal waiting time- i have checked the prices for going private and i dont think i can afford it !

    Thanks

Omg that's an awful long time!! Have you rang to make sure it wasn't a miss print and should have been 2012?? Unfortunately I have no experience of public so I can't advise sorry.

I am the most impatient person so was refered to the rotunda by my endo privately in January and got an appointment for two weeks later. Initial consultation was €160 which is alot I know....

I would def suggest ringing your consultant to confirm. Better to be safe than sorry, it sounds like you've had an awful experience :(. Had you had any scans or bloods done before seeing the second consultant which would indicate your pcos was dormant?

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,773 ✭✭✭Synyster Shadow

Iv had tests done the end of last year and scans and the PCOS is still very much there even the day 3 bloods showed levels of someone with PCOS but she wouldn let me talk. My partner had his SA done too and alls there for them in my file so the whole episode is just exhausting specially after getting up at 6am and travelling 2 and half hours there and then nearly a 2 hour wait to be seen and then drive home again its a nightmare

You poor thing that's awful :( it can be so hard to get doctors to listen to you I know, sometimes they forget you've know your body best! I would suggest maybe getting your history, test results, scans etc and looking for a new consultant on a recommendation? I have seen an endocrinologist in Beaumont and a gynaecologist in the rotunda, both absolutely lovely men and very sensitive and approachable. My GP was cat wouldn't listen to me at all so I changed to one I was comfortable with. I know it may seem like a big task but would be worth it in the end. It's so important to have a doctor you feel listens to you and that you can trust especially with something like ttc

I would definitely suggest ringing to confirm exactly what file she was reading from. If she won't listen to you I think you might be better going with someone else...

Yea Iv already changed doctor from my original family GPhe was useless with women and as soon as I changed in 2005 I was soon after DX so that was one good move as for a different consultant Im not goin private so its hard to get them to refer me.

Thanks !! Yeah I rang today its definetly that long . I asked about price 160 doesn't seem too much to get it moved up ! I was given a range of prices today which scared me! Anywhere from 200- 1500 depending on what is needed on the day??? I was scared by that I don't have that kinda money

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,102 ✭✭✭Digs

Jeez those prices would terrify me! Well if you've had scans and bloods done that's half the battle... And cuts out a bit of the cost. I've been seeing an endo for pcos for years he refered me to a gynae because I was having a bit of spotting and he just wanted it checked out (wasn't necessarily a fertility referral as we're only trying a few months). The gynae charged €160 and did another ultrasound when I was there which was included in his fee.

Have you been on any medication for pcos? I have been on glucophage (metformin) for the past few years on and off. The gynae put me back on it a few weeks ago, he did bloods that day to confirm I was ovulating (which thankfully I was) but the metformin is recommended for women with pcos as it can help with weight, ovulating etc esp when ttc. I find I do much much better when I'm on it! He basically said to stay on the metformin for about six months and if nothing happens come back he may go with cloimid although I want to avoid that drug at all costs!

If you want me to pm his name to you that's no problem, I'm not sure the guidelines on naming docs on these threads!!

Hi everyone, back on the 2 week wait again!! I have an appointment for the Rotunda in March. Does anyone know if its possible to get my medical file from Clane Fertility Clinic to bring with me? Might speed things along if they could see all my test results.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,773 ✭✭✭Synyster Shadow

Id imagine you can. Id say they send them over to the Rotunda for you so there already there before your next appointment. I often have all my tests from my GP sent there its handy for all my blood work as I live over two hours from there

    Delighted for you DFT!!!!

Hello ladies, have not been on this forum for a while, busy Christmas, trying to keep up with an active toddler and a busy few weeks home wise on top of TTC meant the only thread I was able to even half look at was You Laugh, You Lose!!! And I think I only was able to look at that as there was only pics and no reading!!!!

Still trying away here. My birthday was last week and if my estimates of my ridiculously irregular cycles is right, I may have a birthday +40wk baby!!!! Only time will tell.

I have just applied for a year long course today, starting September. Either I get the interviews and have something I can do for a few months next Sept, or I can cancel it all because of a pregnancy!!! Needless to say I rather the latter, but better to have something planned, since next month marks the 1 year mark of trying! Not long by some peoples lengths here! Who knew a healthy enough woman in her mid-20's could have so much trouble conceiving, can be frustrating some days!

taken your mind off TTC by doing a course may be the best thing it may happen quicker that way
