The 10am latest weather report on met.ie was a bit bizarre. Every station which was manned was reporting light rain or drizzle. You'll not often see that.

It's the same for me here near Rathgar.

Dont be surprised if ya see a 15c tomorrow! yes 15!!
    Spot on!
    AWS max so far 14.7C
Need to open record books, though note, I had 17.8C in 2003, and I remember having above 15C last year.

And as per previous message. light drizzle and gusty SW

    Max temp 14.3c yuck

  • Registered Users Posts: 15,355 ✭✭✭✭Supercell

Damp aul day, 10mm rain so far. Max temp was 13.7°C which is just insane in the membrane for the time of year.

Oh well at least its not anticyclonic gloom and stratus muck, can't complain (much).

Damp drizzly day, currently 8.6°C with 5mm rain, seems like the heavier rain at the moment is missing the south east - how boring!

In other news, the ensembles are showing interesting stuff finally, wheter theres any meat on those bones is another matter though.

    Temperature rising rapidly here :-

    OutsideTempHistory.gif

Not often you see the temp rise like that in the middle of the night!

    What's caused that
Doing some heavy breathing on the sensor. :p
No sign of a rise here

    9.9C, light wind. Still drizzly

No way tis miserable outside, I'm warm and comfy inside.

Interestingly i'm currently 12.2°C and Wicklow Weather is 10.0°C

I reckon a sharp rise is imminent there MM, if not give yer Vantage a kick.

Is that why yours is reading so high. :D

Outside of calm clear nights, its not often that Annamoe is warmer than Ashford, but 2C difference is a lot.

    10.0C

  • Registered Users Posts: 15,355 ✭✭✭✭Supercell

It is indeed and it's now 12.4° so 2.4°C difference.
Must be a localised effect fromn Scarr or a front/trough lying in between our locations, dont see it though on any chart.

Interesting stuff, arctictree is 11.4°C which is a higher than you too and its cloudy so not the usual radiative cooling stuff going on.

Will have to examine the charts tomorrow, fascinating stuff.

    10.2C

If that air does get to me that would equate to 13C or more.
    Kilkenny is at 13C.

As you mention, there may be some sort of front.

    Still drizzly.

  • Registered Users Posts: 15,355 ✭✭✭✭Supercell

Has to be a front, your station is recording barely any wind and mine has suddenly jumped:-
WindSpeedHistory.gif , I bet if the sensor was at proper hight the difference would be much more dramatic.

    How fickle;)

There are always these little weather delights in among the boring stuff once you start looking for them, except perhaps in anticyclone gloom

    10.5C.......its trying to catch up.

Wind has just started, we're in business

    10.6C

The wind is still very lght, so not the same dramtic pick up, but it is SW which is the direction all the other 'warm' stations are reporting.

11.3C, the ascent seems to have stalled.

Notice how the pressure is rising again.

On the go again and catching up ;)

    11.9C

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 6,498 ✭✭✭Mothman

    Natural order restored
    12.6C :p

you saw a 4C rise. I'm starting from just under 10C, so could go another 1C yet, though I thikn it'll settle in the low 13s

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,299 ✭✭✭arctictree

    11.4c here.

From looking at my records, I had 29 Days in July with a low of lower than 11.4c!

I had one day in July with an average of 11.4c.

  • Registered Users Posts: 15,355 ✭✭✭✭Supercell

Yep, I think my location gets the mountain air downstreams thus changes in the upper air are noticeable here first.

    Tis all interesting, stratus isnt.

:D(that's to the pre edited message)

Seems to have settled down at 12.7/8 rather than 13C+ predicted.

Very mild, drizzle has stopped, moon and stars appearing.
