i think i speak for most men when i say BALD IS BEAUTIFUL. theres nothing as bad as getting a hair caught in the back of ur throat. it puts men totally off oral sex. it happened when i was a teenager and i was going around all day gawking after it. it ws horrible. and i also think its just way more sexy.

sorry mate, I disagree.
Bald = a bit creepy.

Adults have body hair.
Tidy body hair is nice.

Totally bald is just odd looking and tbh a little strange.

I recommend Heaven on Grafton Street, they use the hot wax, least painful wax I've ever had and they have a special on at the moment - Hollywood and Brazillians for only €40

Just had a look at Brazilia's website and I'd love to try the G-string wax, definitely not into the baldy look, but I'm just wondering would I have to strip off for this or could I leave my thong on and just pull it to the side?? I assume as there's gonna be hair left underneath there's no need to totally strip!!

Weird and all as it may sound, stripping totally (from waist down naturally:p) isn't as bad as you'd think. As I said earlier I went for my first one on Saturday and thought I'd die a hundred times over at having it all on display but the girl was so professional, so nice, and really has seen it all before, that it didn't matter. Pain wise, again, nothing like I thought it would be. One or two stips did hurt a little as they were pulled off but really and truly is was just one or two.
The girl on reception told me that I'd a) be really proud of myself afterward and b) become addicted........she was a wise wise woman because I was and I'd certainly do it again.

I'm sure you're not a hypocrite Joe, so I hope you've your own genitals nice and bald for your partner, so that she doesn't get any hairs in her throat either. Because you obviously wouldn't be so insistent on women having it if you weren't prepared to have the same consideration, surely?

Having a preference is one thing, but insisting on it and saying anything but X is "offputting" is more than a bit obnoxious.

i didnt insist on all women being bald. its just an opinion. and also, it would be much easier for a fella to choke on a hair while giving oral than it would for a girl. obviously!!!!!

I Brazilian wax every time. My boyfriend defiantly appreciates it but it doesn’t hurt and the embarrassment goes its all about the salon you go to i think! I get it done at Adore salon in Cork they use some tea tree wax for their waxing procedures or something. Great place! The wise woman is defiantly right really addicted to it never go back to my old ways. :D

Well I did it the once and the agony was unbelievable. Especially in certain more 'intimate' areas. And she cut me too I was bleeding (how do you even get cut)

So i will never do it again - trimming all the way or Veet for me.

Do not understand men saying that ALL women have to be bald - and that anything else is disgusting. Imagine meeting a guy for the first time, go on a few dates, it gets more serious and then he rejects you for having pubic hair? :(

I don't get the hygiene thing though - surely if you shower every day (maybe 2 coz of the gym) and you thouroughly cleanse there's no difference? Maybe I'm very naive! :o

Eh, you reckon? Given many blow jobs yourself, have you? Describing hair on female genitalia as offputting is offensive to say the least... and if YOU find it offputting on a woman, don't you think women find it offputting on men? The double standard just really, really pisses me off.

Also, choking on a HAIR? Poor little lambs. Try a couple of inches of penis down your throat.

ok, so I am very interested in getting a Brazilian done, the only thing is I have heard all the horror stories about unexperienced beautians doing it and go to a specialised salon to get it done. So going on all I've heard I was thinking of going to Brazilia, only thing is I live about 2hrs outside Dublin so it will mean having to travel. Will it be worth my while? I mean in terms of regrowth how long will it last and also is it torture when growing out? Sorry if tmi but I tend to shave down there always have and I'm told to let it grow out for 2-3 weeks for best results before waxing this would be torture for me and I would feel disgusting also when I told my dh I was interested in getting it done he thinks I'm mad mainly when I told him how much it would cost but I just know he would love it :P

Good for you. Did you happen to see any men in Brazilia?

Apologies for hanging around the LL but this subject interests me. :o

Didn't spot any men, though it was very quiet when I went. I'm sure they get a fair few male clients though.

That is exactly the thought I came out with after getting my first wax a couple weeks ago.
I'll happily book my next one!

Some of you have mentioned that it's addictive...what's addictive about it?

I don't think I'll ever get a full brazilian, just the edges will do for me, and trim the rest! If a guy asked me to do it, I'd ask him to get a back, sack and crack first, and see what he'd have to say for himself then! It's sore enough getting a regular bikini wax done.

I've never had one (having my first this week) but I'd imagine that the sorest bits are the bits you'd get done i a regular bikini wax... that papery skin near the join of your leg. Ouch.

Yeah but we choke on something else. My OH doesn't like it bald, I prefer it because I like the clean feeling.
The price is my only problem. It's extortionate. I'm sure somewhere will undercut everywhere soon. It's a tenner in germany.

I didn't understand the addictive statements from people either until I had it done. It just feels better when you've been waxed, underwear feels better too and I've also found that when having sex that area is more sensitive as it can feel more. That may not be the case for everyone but it has been for me.
Re: the pain, I really and truly mean it when I say that save for one or two strips (literally) it didn't hurt at all. I had laser on my legs and bikini area so its been ages since I had to have any kind of waxing. Back when I was in need of leg waxing and bikini line waxing I always found the bikini area hurt. From that memory I was convinced that the Brazilian would kill me and I'd be on the couch biting my lip in pain but not so not even a little bit. I suppose thats down to the kind of wax they use and the fact that the girl who did it was really good at her job.
If my boyfriend had asked me to get it done I'd have refused point blank unless he did too. I did it off my own bat.

No no, god the skin near the join of your leg is fine. There are areas way more painful than that shellyboo! Your first time will hurt like hell and if you wax regularly it won't be hardly as painful the next time.

Why put yourselves through the pain??

Most men prefer a full bush, now I can understand a bikini wax,but a bald box with a clump of hair on top looks ridiculous IMHO.

Total turn off.
pmsl!!
baldy box!!!!!!!!!!ha ha ha

In this case I think he is just stating a preference, isn't that the definition? I like something, the opposite of which is offputting.

Personally, I've noticed that most pressure to maintain a certain level of hairlessness seems to be enforced by other women.

My ex didn't shave her legs for 3 weeks before getting them waxed, but wouldn't let me touch her for the meantime because she felt 'gross'. So no sex while she felt hairy. Weird.

My personal preference when with someone is for whatever you feel like yourself, that said trimming 'downstairs' doesn't have to be a huge ordeal. Scissors anyone??? Then the 'long curly hair' problem is solved.
