Textbook cirrostratus overhead, its totally perfect in the pale moonlight.

I'm a little suprised the temps have fallen to 0.6°C here (so far)with it overhead.

Very foggy here tonight. Temp falling all day. now at 0.8c

EDIT: 0.6c now...looks like i could hit my first subzero the whole month!!..maybe there is a santa!!

ice formed on cars here in Tralee now - does that mean the air temp is below freezing or just the ground temp? either way a nice seasonal feel for the night that it is!

Beautiful crystal clear morning here, with a lovely white frost covering the grass, Santa arrived early here (05:10:eek:) so I've had plenty of time for obsevations.:rolleyes:

Super start to Christmas day. Its cold and still with a heavy frost that will be slow to clear compared to a couple of days ago. Currently -1.7°C

Yes its a White Christmas
Frosty, though not as heavy as the pic above. AWS min -1.2.
Currently a clear 2.6C. Some cloud to east obscurng the sunrise

No just ground temp or more accurately, the surface temp of objects.
The grass min temp is typically 6C (and up to 10C) lower than the air temp.

LOL, I've just looked at my air temperature graph. Talk about a yo yo.
Can't remember seeing such wicked fluctuations before.

min was -2.3c
A lot of ice and a heavy white frost making it a very seasonable Xmas morning.
Currently +1c in a light SW breeze.
Feeling very parky out there-beautifull blue skythough.

fantastic Christmas morning here, next best thing to a snowy one. Very hard widespread frost outside making everything look like winter with dazzling sunshine.

I've updated the above graph as the temp plummeted again after the 9am reading, being nearly 2C at 9am then to sub zero by 9:30am, and the sun was out!
This means tomorrow has already recorded an air frost as this sub zero min will be carried forward regardless of what happens tonight.

Meh, woke up to hear the rain pelting off the window. It cleared up for a bit with nice sunshine, but is cloudy all over now

Suprisingly wind has died down and temp is falling.
Its currently 3.9°C now, another air frost is possible if conditons stay like this.

Very mild indeed, 12.6C here and still rising!

Thats urban heating for you trogdor..

Out here in the sticks it's a whole 2c colder at 10.7c.
I might soon have to put on a jumper if it gets any colder

Its got quite windy, though nothing like the strong gale with gusts near 70mph at Belmullet
