Weren't they still making the Mk1 Golf in South America up until fairly recently so it could be imported...

Seen a Pontiac Parisienne in Killarney on Sunday - Gold coloured.... Searched Google images (and found plenty of Parisiennes) but none looked the same. I did take a pic with herself's camera phone but of course only managed to take a picture of my finger :o
Massive car and really looked the business.... That V8 rumble can't be bettered!

Mk1 Golf's were still available as 'new' up to recent times. Same goes for the original Beetle which was an import from South America

...........yes there are a few around, the shell is actually slightly different to the original though, so no new GTI lookalikes unfortunately !

That actually looks pretty sweet, Less of the girly look. Looks quite mean. I'm sure there'd be a lovely sound off it too, Must look out for one.

You're supposed to use fictitious ones like 06-D-123456, not good enough for you though, you had to give him the Lord Mayor Of Dublin's reg plate...:D

I saw two Lambo's on the A8 near Cannes today, no photos I'm afraid, I was doing 130 when they passed me as if I was stopped.

I never put false plates on my posts , After all reg plates are there to identify a car and arei n the public domain , not as if they are in the official secrets act or something ......

I've seen that around before aswell. Indeed as someone else said, they are still making them in South Africa, as a budget model for the Golf range. They are known there as the 'Citi Golf'.
