    Hi Fran,

We are going to be out and about over the next few weeks registering players (you just reminded me to start a thread about that :) ).

We won't be taking cash off players on the day though.....Things are tight enough as they are (time wise) and with 100 tables, chips for 1,000 players and all the rest to organise we just won't be registering anyone on the day.

    Cheers for the suggestion Fran.

Could you expand on what a "dead button" is please?
A dead button occurs when a player on, for example, the small is eliminated. This player would have been the button on the next hand if they were still in the tournament. The button becomes 'dead' for the next hand in the sense that the player is not there to be the button but we still pretend that they are in order to keep everything in order. Hope this makes sense.
What is the worst position? On the big blind? UTG?
The worst position is on the big blind. When balancing tables a tournament director should (according to TDA rules) bring the player that is next to be the big blind from one table into a position whereby he/she will be the big blind as soon as possible on their new table.
So player A bets €50, and player B raises to €100 (total) - player C wants to raise. Is the minimum he can raise to €150?
No, the minimum raise is double the previous bet at all times.
If the only place available on the new table is between the button and the blinds does the player moving into that spot have to wait for the button to pass him before he can play?
Players will be dealt into every hand whether they are moved into the small or big blind or on the button. The one exception is if they are moved into a position between the small blind and the button (in this case they miss one hand before the button passes by them).

Thanks for helping an ignoramus like myself.;)
    No problem :D

I will not be going out of my way to help players register from here on in.....Its just too close to the event and I've been saying for months that if you want to play then all that is required is a max of 15 minutes of patience to get registered.

From here on in anyone that wants to play will have to follow the instructions on www.pokerireland.ie.....Cash registrations are no longer accepted.

There are half a dozen ways to get money onto Mermaid, just click on the cashier and check out the options before you presume that you won't have any way to pay......Mermaid (and Derek and I) are experts at getting player's money online.

Hey just wondering how exactly is the draw for seat going to be done???
For example it can't be just random, cause then in theory - one team be all at the same table...So who is decided who sits where and when will this be decided?

Also - from tournament that i've play in Fitz/CHL, when breaking a table - they do some weird format - where by if you were on the button - then you sit in a pacific seat(i.e furtherest from the blind,or whatever, etc), therefore when yous are going to break them, how will it be done, to prevent players ending up on the same table...

Seat draw will be randomly generated (we've already generated seats for everyone that has registered so far)....Any two team members drawn at the same table will be obliged to let me know but thats why I'm asking all team captains to register their team lists now - so it can be avoided.

When breaking a table the draw will be random.....Same rule applies, players from same teams are obliged to let TDs know (you would be surprised how easy this is to implement).

O and just one last thing - is the prize pool in dollars or Euros???

    The prize-pool is in euros.

The cost to enter is €125 + €25 reg and 100% prize-pool payout.

So if for example 361 players take part (registrations are going so slowly that this might be all the players we get for this tournament :) ) then the prize-pool will be 361*€125 = €45125 (correct me if I'm wrong there).

Winnings will be lodged into player's account in Euro. Every cent of the €125's will be paid out and every cent of the €25's will go towards the RDS, dealers wages, chips, cards, tables, vans to deliver tables, workers to unload and load tables to and from the vans (I'm assuming that Anna is bringing over the Mermaid girls to help us with this) and so on.

Why were you thinking of doing something else on 6th Oct?:)

Because I'm not going to run the tournament while you're off taking the girls sight seeing

Stephen, how about setting up seperate booth for accepting cash payments, on the day. This could be done quite easily with laptop 3g card etc.. Maybe an extra 5euro per reg to pay for setup hasstle etc.... Id imaging an extra 100 players at least would pay on the day, or even the day before..

By the way sorry if i caused any confusion among a few kilkenny players about the possibility of cash payments..:o

No prob at all Aidan, I know you meant well :)

We won't be setting up anything for cash acceptance on the day though. We think we're offering fantastic value so we're not going to give ourselves any headaches. Anyone that wants to play will have to take five minutes beforehand to register online.

    Seriously lads and girls.......

Anyone who show up on the day with cash in the hand, i doubt they really really reaaaaally want to play, since Stephen and Derek have offered a lot of help in this with paysafecards and help with doing the online reg for those who feel insecure about a computer. And i also tried very hard to insta help everyone contacting me.

I mean, tournaments have differnt things.. and this one.. got online reg :-)
Somebody needs to be first doing that. (Nude poker is already been done or else i know Stephen thought about it. )

then ok..... those who dont read boards or play in a club that has flyers you will say now. But how did they hear about it then?

I DOUBT there will just walk people in from the street (even though irish are a bit crazy, bless ya) and say we want to play, just like that without hearing a single word about it beforehand, and if they heard about it beforehanded am 100% sure they alse heard you have to online reg.

Its not fair to those regged in time online that some can show up and pay on the day and maybe delay the whole crazy circus called IPO :p

So lets move on and just accept how it is.

Hep Hep Clap Clap... soon there!

I think Stephen should open a book on how many people will actually show up on the day expecting to be allowed pay in there n then:p

I'd love to be there when the first person tries it - can imagione someone exploding!!!:D

I'm not looking forward having to tell someone that has travelled from say Donegal or Kerry that they have travelled up without registering online and cannot play but I am preparing myself for it (or maybe I'll just head across the road for a pint and leave it to the Clamper :) ).

375 players registered so far now.

We're offering fantastic value here guys and all we're asking is that you get registered early.

If you run into problems like credit cards not working or some such and you've left it too close to D-Day then there will be very little that we can/will do for you.

Now there's an idea - a group of us could just stand there with a sign, saying cash accept, take the money and run....

PM on the way to you now mate. Don't worry this has happened to a couple of players with BOI Masxtercard and the next time they tried their cards it worked.

Tried again and it worked - cost me 58c in exchange rate fluctuations though!

"WebDollar is currently unable to process your transaction"

I get this error when I try to deposit using Neteller. How do I get around it?

Also, it was mentioned in this thread that the blind structure would be modelled on the EPT structure but the structure posted here
is nothing like the EPT blind structure so I don't think it's fair to compare, especially when an EPT event takes 5 days to run a 400 player event and this is a 2 day event with a larger field and shorter blind levels. I'm sure the structure will be as good as it can be, I just don't understand why it's being compared to the EPT.
