Of course.....This is standard. If I'm playing and someone calls clock on me after one minute I will eat them like I would a little baby.

Which probably puts you on tilt as much anyway so you should just make it that players in the hand and TD's/Dealers call the clock.

CHL's opening nite and Paddy who i think went on to win called clock on me after about 15 seconds (he was not in the hand) when i was thinking about calling an all-in for all my chips*. I was acting fast enough all nite but i didnt get mad because i had a whole minute more to act after clock was called which is far too much time imo. What im saying is that clock is usually called after someone is considering for 2 or more minutes so for someone to have a full extra minute when clock is called on top of this is too much. It should be more like 25 seconds that a player has left to act when clock is called on them. Thats why its currently ridiculous calling clock or getting clock called on you unless you have reason to believe they will take a few minutes more to decide if you dont call clock. Just my 2c.

    *I called and lost.

you can understand the situation sometimes, but in early stages its probably way too long...

I though clamper was the baby eater in this operation.

FWIW i agree one minute is too long after the clock is called, it should be 20seconds, followed by a 10 sec countdown and shouldnt be allowed to be called until after 2 minutes has elapsed. i dont think any poker decision should take more than this. you dont get anywhere near this online and noone complains.

There is a lot more information to process in a live tournament imo.

Ive never heard of a dealer calling a clock.
I would gouge their eyes out with a 25 chip if they tried!!!!!!

There should be a reasonable amount of time passed before a clock can be called but this is hard to regulate. Maybe inform the dealers that a clock cannot be called until 2 minutes have elapsed. But then if you have a guy who thinks hes on TV taking that long every time it gets annoying.

All kinds of side action :) ... Didn't know you were a poker player. I've only seen you on other forums.

Does that mean cashgames are allowed on the first day at the RDS or only other (smaller) tournaments?

Sorry if this sounds like a silly question but I'm not so familiar with the legal situation in Irland.

    Thanks
    Shadow

The field will be mad up of more sick degenerates than the student champs and there was plenty of side game action there.
Generall theres somebody taking a list of names for various games, I think Carfax has Cooker booked in to take names again after an early blow up

Early blow up, heh that is 1 way of describing it.
But yeah I was doing the SnG's after Pamela left. I imagine something similar will be happening again.

Only if you're knocked out, Pam is going to be there from start to finish too.....Are you available for work two days after you get back (someone of your expertise and experience gets recommended to lots of new club owners and I've already said yes for you)?

The number went from 277 four hours ago to 300 right now. Players please don't leave this to the last minute to register.

If you think that there is going to be the slightest bit of difficulty registering and paying your buy-in on Mermaid then please try to register right now. If you have any problems you can contact stephen@pokerireland.ie or ac@mermaidpoker.info.

If you are looking for accom' you can contact derek@pokerireland.ie

The only way that players are going to have any difficulty registering is by leaving it late.

I am getting phone calls and emails every day from different players trying to get around registering on Mermaid and we're just not going to allow it. If you think that you will walk up to us on the day and pay cash you will be disappointed. We're trying to put on a fantastic tournament, get behind it and get registered.

Play on Mermaid, its great... Lots of satellites and lots of big and small cash games and tournaments all the time...

Guys and girls if you have an ounce of decency in you put me out of my stressfulness and register for the tournament now.

Its only gone up by 12 players since yesterday. It should be going up by 50 players per day every day for the next 8 days.

Remember registration closes on Sept 30th and all cash registrations finish on Monday 24th Sept. I will not be taking cash for paysafecards from anyone after that.
