People only 203 players have registered so far.....I have hundreds of emails on file so I know lots and lots of boardsies are planning to play this.......Please register early, it will allow us to run the show much more efficiently and will help us achieve the 1,000 player field we are aiming for. You can always unregister at any time if it turns out you can't make it.

Are the tables going to be 9 or 10?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 40,406 ✭✭✭✭Mellor

I think 10. Remember Stephen saying 100 tables, 100 dealers if a full house.

    Stephen,

I havent registered yet because earlier in this thread, or another thread it was said that if you qualify online you dont get the cash value instead if you've already registered.

I've tried to qualify online 3 times so far without success (thanks to Sumoward last week, bah!) so i want to give it 1 more go before i pay up.

I'll round up the troops off my team over the next couple of days and get them to setup mermaid accounts and register. Is there any decent signup bonuses for 1st time deposits i've been asked?

    Cheers

    Tony

If anyone wants to give me their mermaid username. I'm signing up now and I'll put you down as a referal, dunno if you get free money or not but worth a shot.

No worries at all Tony. Just get those other players registered. There is a 200% signup bonus - deposit $100 and get $200. There are the usual terms & conditions involved with actually playing on the site of course and not just signing up for the IPO.

They also have a very decent reload bonus.

I was talking to Wes in Luke's yesterday so he is getting his registration sorted out over the next few days.

Correctomondo. We might make adjustments on Day 2 but as it stands right now this will be the case right up to the final table.

How do you find the software etc Tar?

No mad rush for registration but all the same register now!!!:)

Just checked there now and we're at 212.....Need to get this up to 350 minimum before the end of the week if we are to have any hope of getting the 1,000 players imo.

    14 days to go peops.

Hmm, ok so far, just started and am 1 tabling, so if I lost a BI I can still register. :P

Nice if there was a hand history link on the GUI. I also can't seem to check how much rake I have cleared for my bonus.

    Won without showdown 92% :-)

    BI (BuyIn?), GUI???

I'll ask Anna to look into everything you have pointed out here. Cheers Paul.

I know I've done this already a few times but I just wanted to post a couple of examples of emails I've received today (I have about 7/8 similar emails today alone).....

    If you're in any doubt about the amount of players travelling to this tournament please don't think I'm exaggerating when talking about the kind of support we are getting for the tournament;

    ____________________________

"I am a poker player from Ballymena up in the North and intend to play in the IPO event. I play in a weekly tournament in the local snooker club and will give out flyers to them all if you send me a bunch. There are normally fifty of us. Looking forward to the event."
    _ _ _ _ _ _ _

"We're a group of 10 Spanish poker players who are going to play in the Dublin championship on the 6th of October.

We are interested in bringing a journalist along with us to take photos and report on the event for our website."
    _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _

Please get in there and register today guys and girls.

we also know that there are over 300 registered into mermaid thru the links and less than 20% of them have registered into the event yet and i do mean yet
its more than likely that they will register
this, along with the many emails etc tells us that this is likely to fill
    i certainly hope so

I remember reading at some stage that 700 is needed for the 100k?

Folks I ve commented on this before. Why oh why as Derek clamper says what are ya waiting for. I registerd for tourny about a month ago in about 10 minutes.
I reckon that if everyone starts to register at last minute then internet problems may occur and mermaid may struggle. I dont know for sure but a big rush on a web site may cause problems.

Lets get behind Steven and the event and get REGISTERED as soon as possible.

    Jay

ps Pity ya never made this a €200 event Steve and have made it possibly the biggest Irish Ranking event for the Antesup.com rankings. Still looking forward to it.

    Jay

We never realised that it had to be a €200 event to be a ranking event but the thinking behind it was that €150 is the max amount that every recreational pub player will pay into a poker tournament. We just wanted it to appeal to everyone.

    Cheers for the support Jay.

    Stephen.

At least the event is listed in the HendonMob Database. So most probably all money finishers will get an entry there.

    Jay

This certainly is not true, as it would not be much of a poker client if a few hundred people crashed it. However, putting my picky humour aside ;) , I agree wit the point Jay is making in a different way. It is oh so Irish to turn up late to things, and it is a self fulfilling prophecy in a way. It does only take a few minutes to register.

One thing that, when taken in tandem with the above, is the fact that people must register by end of September for this!!! I believe this is due to organisational reasons (understandable given the field size) so if you intend to wait til the last minute don't.

You cannot pay on the day. Obviously you have not read through the thread, but you cannot, and Stephen loses 23 more hairs every time anyone asks him, so pretend it was a joke and he will forgive you.

Do you not have access to a computer and a credit card?

Did anyone post some details over on 2+2 or P5's about the event?

An account with mermaid takes 5 mins to create, obviously you have a computer as you are online here.
There are a number of ways to deposit the cash.
    1. Credit Card (Visa, MasterCard, Maestro, etc)
    2. Bank Transfer, to either Mermaid or Stephan
    3. Moneybookers
    4. Neteller
    5. Paysafe Card
    6. Click to pay/Click and Buy
    7. Cheque/Bank Draft, this option may not get through in time
