Ive read this whole thread and theres been some really stupid answers.. In my humble opinion.. This is life! Everyone will be different from scangers to knackers to metal heads goths skaters etc etc and all these groups will find a way to be annoyed at the other group? Im sure you all very much understand that?

Like regular joes will have problems with skaters cause they wreck property(which they do, im a skateboarder)

and skaters have a problem with skangers and knackers(which they do)

Theres not a damn thing anyone can do to stop any of this!

I personally have no problems with "emos" and ive friends who are "emo" and there sound out.. None of them cut themselves or are anyway depressed

People I agree with have been cremo and karl and a few others whoms names I forget sorry.. They have not been biased to anything there just saying why does everyone care?

to add I think the only "real emos" are in Dublin the rest are in the US. its all just different groups of people who like different things.. sports/music/dress style etc etc. As for the trend thing ive been told sooo many times ill be after stoping skating when I reach 17 - 18.. I just turned 19 and dont plan on stopping.. Ive been doing it 6 years. Its like what hurling/football is to most people that do it into there 20's - 30's whats the difference?

A fine example would be.. I was the other day at the new "skatepark" in Waterford City, now ive put skatepark in quotes because its for skateboarders, bmxers and rollerbladers

There was skangers and posers there and one of our friends who is "emo" at the same time just to see it..

Now the posers where getting in the way all over the place and the skangers where there drinking and smoking and complaining why are we here with these handicaps and hippies? also jeering us when we fell or whatever.. They abused our emo friend telling him he looked like a girl in his tight pants.. I really dont get that! Again and this is the third time I think ive said it, why does anyone care and why cant everyone either get along or just leave it be?

Now that was all probably waffle and made no sense to anyone but it made sense to me and I hope it did to other people... I suspect either someone to argue with me and taunt/make fun of me in someway or agree with something ive said I just thought this was a really interesting topic to post on!

It basically a bunch of boy who look like girls, and girls who look like boys, carrying years of emotional grief and torment because their mother asked them to clean their room. THey also listen to the most whiney bitch music ever and constantly believe its them against the world.... and the world is kicking ass.

Emo is certainly less predominant in Ireland compared to the USA: mostly due to the early influences of Punk from the UK and it just went onto Metal and Hardcore from there.

You'll find people here that listen to a lot of Emo music or some, and dont dress or act the part - unlike America, where they all sit in Denny's at 1AM drinking coffee or water (if they're broke) and still have the same wavy ass haircut that they think makes them look like "one of the beautiful people".

Another way to look at it is a much softer version of grunge.

It's the music I have a problem with - stuff like Evanescence, My Chemical Romance, Linkin Park. It's fu_cking atrocious! And the look is really mainstream - Avril Lavigne dresses like that.
The way these bands consider themselves so dark and "goth" - laughable! It's just catchy pop music with guitars and vocalists who act like they're in pain.

I Live in America and im happy to report that since ive been here (4weeks now) i have seen the sum total of 0, yes 0, emo freaks here! Its f*cking awsome!
Maybe its because its nearly 40 degrees everyday and its sunny all the time so their gay looking makeup would run, but whatever it is they are not here! Maybe they finally looked in the mirror and realised what they look like,who knows, but i sure do hope this emo-disappearance trend hits all you guys back in Ireland soon! Its fan-f*cking-tastic!

Thankfully i can say iv'e been working in Spain for the past 6 months and have only seen one who was obviously very upset about the fact that she had to go away on holidays with her parents to the south of Spain for a few weeks
