Who wouldn't want to see PPVs such as 'King of My Ring', 'Submission Rules' and 'Little Trouble in Big Chyna' :pac:

    http://www.silvervision.co.uk/category/Tagged-Classics-Sale/page1.html

Silvervision added a load more tagged classics to the sale that they're having.

Think I might have bought a few too many :P

Are silvervision going under? They have virtually all the tagged classics on sale for £5.99 each, and a LOAD of box sets on sale for £6.99 like the stone cold one, Eddie guerrero one, hulk hogan one etc. Same for a lot of recent PPVs.

Perhaps they're clearing out excess stock though.

What ever happened to the TNA DVD building in London. If I remember, it was set on fire during the London Riots, has it been rebuilt?

I watched The Wrestling Road Diaries the other day and really enjoyed it. It was great to see the guys just enjoying their time on the road and the stuff that goes on backstage, could have watched it for 10 hours straight!
I read that there is another one coming out soon, so definitely looking forward to that :)

I was thinking this myself. There's been a few strange issues over withdrawing certain titles in the past that were never fully explained, then they withdrew WM28 from pre-order and now they seem to be selling off huge amounts of stock at massively reduced prices, even relatively new stock like the Stone Cold set and the OMG set.

Hopefully nothing too sinister is happening!

Did anyone buy wrestling road diaries from coltmerch.com?

I ordered it there last weekend but it doesn't give an update about when it will be or when it was posted. It says on the the top of the site that Cabana wont be back from a tour till the 30th of April (last Monday).

I know he runs the site by himself and posts off the stuff himself but should I expect to wait weeks rather than days for the dvd to arrive?

Im not expecting to have the DVD already or anything because its coming from America but what was your experience on ordering from the site if you did in terms of delivery?

    Thanks

I ordered it from Coltmerch.com around November last year and it took about a week to be delivered.

This isnt an ad (honest) but one of the legal/legal-ish larger seller of Japanese Wrestling on the internet who goes back years is IVP Video: http://new.ivpvideos2.com/

Anyway he posted a picture of his operation/room:

There's another famous tape trader Jeff Lynch who goes back to the 1980s. I remember once getting his tape list. The PDF of it crash my computer it was so big.

Yeah they look like 1 to 3 duplicators. Are there any good sites for DVD trading? Would anyone here be into it?

Seriously though, if there's decent traction i'll look into setting up a dvd swap thread - but we have a no advertising/shilling wares policy to keep PW clean of spammers, and it kinda opens the floodgates. We'd have to set out rules etc. But sure we'll see if people are interested otherwise it's a moot point. I'd have to think that for 90% of possible dvd swappers, the internet killed that off.

Yeah it seems to work quite well for games in the Xbox section at least. I'm sure DVD trading is certainly not as prolific as it was but ya never know who might be interested.

I'm sure most people's needs can be covered by other means but it could save bandwidth and help them to get stuff that may not be available anymore. Just a thought anyway.

Japanese Bret is a wee bit crappy.

    Enjoyed the wrestling road diaries.

Daniel Bryan comes across as a very friendly bloke.

The Van Hammer prank calls on the bonus disc were hilarious.

The websites I normally look at for when buying wrestling DVDs are

    www.silvervision.co.uk

www.amazon.co.uk (check the marketplace also, zOverstocks have some great deals usually on preowned wrestling dvds for a few quid, but theyre always in mint condition. I picked up things like Wrestlemania 23 tin edition for €4 delivered, rey mysterios dvd for a fiver delivered etc.)

    www.play.com

    www.zavvi.com

Dont bother with high street stores; HMV used to have good deals many years ago, but they seem to just stock the odd few dvds now, at crazy prices (€25+ each); same for the UFC dvds in there.

Golden discs usually have cheap PPV's and documentarys (usually between €8-€12)

charity shops, I got 9 from 2007 and 2008 for £15 the other day :D

SilverVision have lots of great deals at the moment. The brilliant new Austin 4 disk boxset for only £6.99 and loads of great tagged classics for £5.99.

Zavvi have the Anthology boxsets of Wrestlemania, Royal Rumble and Summerslam going for £19 in their Monday Madness deal now. Just picked up WM 12-17. Fantastic deal.

Does anyone know if the WWE Wrestlemania anthology sets have the events in full or are they like the old VHS releases (Wrestlemania 7 especially) in that its only highlights of most of the matches?

OSW Review to the rescue! :pac:

It's an edited version of the live PPV. This means that WWE don't pay for certain songs (eg Ricky Steamboat's theme) and either mute or dub when people say WWF. They also edit out some scenes (eg when Brother Love gets his kilt torn off at WM5). The Anthology DVDs are made from the masters, unlike Silvervision, which are 2nd or 3rd Gen tapes, so the WWE versions are much better quality.

The Coliseum home video, ie Tagged Classics DVD from Silvervision (which is sometimes highly edited down - missing promos/entrances/bits of matches etc) does have exclusive backstage promos, which weren't inserted into the WWE Anthology releases, and also no watermarks.

If I were to choose between the two I'd honestly pick the WWE Anthology version as it's the most complete. In the home video version of the 87 Series iirc they actually CUT OUT the Bulldogs getting eliminated (amongst other things) so they could cut the PPV down to under 2 hours, cheap bastards.
