    Intercontinental Championship Match
    Chris Jericho vs. Kurt Angle
No Way Out February 27, 2000

    WWE Championship Match
    Chris Jericho vs. Triple H
    RAW April 17, 2000

    WCW World Heavyweight Championship Match
    Chris Jericho vs. The Rock
    No Mercy October 21, 2001

    Undisputed Championship Match
Chris Jericho vs. Stone Cold Steve Austin
    Vengeance December 9, 2001

These matches will be unwatchable due to the botchjob blurring of the WWF attitude logo. Pretty much most of the stuff that has suffered blurring has been way over the top extreme - look at WM X-8 where there's just black lines across the turnbuckles!. Some matches haven't suffered too bad but some had a quarter of the picture destroyed withthe blurring. Way OTT!

Shame there's no Chris Benoit matches all the same...

Surely there is a few matches missing besides Benoit ones on that Dvd.The one at Mania vs Christian should be there.A lot of meh matches HHH & Cena hardly make me look back with fond memories & his crappy executed return was the Pits.He has to of had a better match with Angle than that one,I watched it recently & thought they could do much better.
Anyone recommend any good shoot interview dvds ?

Jericho had suprisingly little one-on-one bouts with Angle. And I know alot of people fondly reminesce about the IC title matches he was in, but really, outside of those that featured Benoit- most were five minute throwaway efforts. Even the best of those, against the likes of Val Venis or Hardcore Holly, were during a period when Benoit would have been at ringside, or doing a run-in.

The only complaint I could have about the set is that a few of the matches have been on DVD numerous times before. But it's still a varied collection and should be excellent.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,409 ✭✭✭Butch Cassidy

I would second Michael's comments about the IC title matches. The IC title in general isn't as great as the hype and many matches down the years were just 5min going nowhere matches basically like the ECW title became. The IC Championship DVD itself solidifies this by having some god awful House Cooking match :(

Anyway yeah there's matches with Christian missing as well as Benoit. Wasn't Jericho in a few more Ladder Matches besides just the one with Shawn or Benoit? Have m/any of them WCW matches been put on other DVDs? I can't tell the dates apart but I know I do have a good few WCW matches with Jericho on other discs...

It's a shame that they have none of his matches with/against Benoit on it. The Royal Rumble ladder match was excellent and then there was the two ****3/4 matches that actually happened within days of each other, the RAW tag team match with Benoit versus Austin/HHH and the 4 way TLC match on Smackdown.
However, the fact that The Man of 1,004 Holds and Conspiracy Victim segments made the DVD make up for this.

In fairness does he really need to give a reason why those matches are excluded..

We know why they're excluded but I was just wondering has he said anything about it.

i wonder how the benoit exclusion will work if there going to bring out an orton dvd cause they can hardly leave out his first title run

It's a shame to not have any Benoit matches, a few spring to mind immediately when thinking of Jericho. On a side note I'm glad Jericho wrote his book before the Benoit Tragedy so we got an honest opinion of what he thought of Benoit the wrestler/friend, not the murderer.

Good point. maybe they'll have the match on it and refer to it without mentioning Benoit; or just have it in the documentary but not as a stand-alone match

This was already addressed before in the history of the world championship set, I believe. They just acknowledged Orton's reign as youngest ever champion, without mentioning or showing who he won it from. Staightforward stuff.

Silvervision's website still have that sale on. It's over in 5 days. Some great stuff in there like Saturday Night's Main Event, Smackdown Anniversary, Triumph and Tradegy of World Class..., SummerSlam 2000/2001, Starrcade, Backlash 2007, No Mercy 2008.

Here's what the Raw The Begining Seasons 1&2 DVD packaging may look like:

    raw3k.jpg
    raw1.jpgraw2.jpg
    raw5.jpgraw4.jpg
    raw6.jpgraw7.jpgraw8.jpgraw9.jpg

There's some real stinkers on this and why the hell the July Michaels/Jannetty match isn't on it only God/Vince McMahon knows. That aside I do hope it sells well so we see a lot more of RAW is War 1997. Anything from 1998-2002 will be unwatchable due to the blurring. Hopefully Shawn Michaels' matches with Triple H and Steve Austin from 1996 make it on to DVD.

I just bought SummerSlam 2000/2001 for about a tener off of Silvervision.

    51qJVUGijtL._SL500_AA300_.jpg

I hope the picture's alright as some of these late-90s Attitude DVDs have a very dark image :/ Anyways on SS 2000 there's TLC, Jericho/Benoit, Shane McMahon's crazy bump, a great Triple Threat match while on 2001 there's Jericho/Rhyno, Jeff/RVD ladder match and one of my favourite matches in Austin vs Angle.

    I used Paint.

Silvervision have said that one of the matches on the upcoming High Flyers DVD is:

    Great Muta vs. Sting
    Japan Supershow March 21, 1991

These two are great and it's probably agreat match but are they high flyers really? Hopefully it won't just be a collection of Rey Mysterio matches or whatever so if there's some Sting there too I'm happy.

Not typically, especially Sting, but Muta did do alot of high-flying before he knackered his knees, popularizing the Moonsault in the US. I think it's important to have him on there as an important development in the style in North America.

Hey Guys and gals. Bit of a weird one

I have the following tag classics Dvds.
    Wrestlemania 1 and 2
    Wrestlemania 3 and 4
    Wrestlemania 5 and 6
    Wrestlemania 7 and 8
    Wrestlemania 11 and 12

All are nearly brand new except for 11&12. Some of the discs have not been watched at all

Thing is i got bought the 1-21 Wrestlemania boxset so i have no need for them now.

Anyway, would anyone have any interest in maybe swapping some tag classics Dvds for any of these.

Check my feedback on adverts and it will show that im genuine and wont mess any one over.

Hope this is ok with the mods

Sorry to be the one to tell you but if you paid €40 for a pair of WrestleMania tagged classics you were had. Silvervision.co.uk regularly have special offers on their site and were selling all the Mania tagged classics for £9 earlier this year in March. They do a 10% when you buy three or more.

I don't know if anyone would be willing to drop €70 on 5 DVDs that are essentially VHS to DVD transfers. I'm sure you could get two anthology sets second hand for about that same kind of money. The Manias up until 14 are watchable as there's no scratch logo so the tagged classics 1-13 aren't really worth that much I don't think. I could be wrong now and you might have someone snap them up any minute now but I have bought those tagged classics and wouldn't consider spending €14 each on second hand ones. If you were to try and trade them in to a shop you'd barely get a few pence for them - Gamestop sell all used DVDs at €3.99 buy one get one free like.

Here's a WrestleMania that sold for £5 on ebay Granted the auction doesn't say he'll post to Ireland but posting a DVD from there is only £1.50 or something.
Best of luck with the sale though :)

Speaking of Silvevision they're doing this silly promotion where on a Wednesday they reduce the price of a certain DVD for 24hrs.

This week it's the Tag Team DVD Allied Powers. It's £13 - the Euro conversion price is a bit fantastical and they haven't figured out or don't mind that you can just as easy pay in £.

True. I have picked up loads of the tagged classics for next to nothing. They sometimes throw a free dvd in too if you spend a certain amount.

I know I must seem like a f'n advertising shill for Silvervision at this stage but they've a load of deadly DVDs on special at the minute....

    untitled_41.jpg

    • Jake Roberts and Ric Flair are great sets.
    • Michaels is ok - documentary is too sugar coated and the glaring omission of the Action Zone tag match in place of the awful Royal Rumble 95 puts into the only OK category.
    • Eddie's is great if you like Eddie.
    • RVD's is great if you like RVD
    • Stone Cold Truth isn't fantastic but it was one of the first WWE branded DVDs they put together. There's some good stuff from his ECW years.
    • The Rise and Fall of ECW documentary is a bit overlong and missing key contributors as well Taz's slightly kayfabe interview mean that it's probably one of the more overrated DVDs I've come across though the match selection is pretty damn good.
    • The RAW Anniversary set isn't fantastic because of the huge gaps they left out but has some good matches on Discs 1 and 3.
    • I didn't like Twist of Fate as I find the story of both of them very boring and the matches were mediocre.

Some good tagged classics there though if you've never seen them shows. Well good with the slight caveat that it might nearly always be the main event so you're kinda only buying for one good match, two at a push. In some cases anywAY...

Does anyone have Dusty Rhodes' DVD? I'd be interested in a documentary if it's good. I can't say I've seen many of his matches that aren't already on DVD .

I bought these Tagged Classics about a year or so ago and i never knew about the silvervision site. Just had a look on it and it seems really cool. Just shows the mark up that HMV and Tower Records put on the Dvds. I seen wrestlemania 3 and 4 in Tower the other day for 30 quid.

I would kinda prefer to just see if anyone wanted to swap some tagged classics instead of sell them so if anyone is interested then let me know.

Cheers Butch for telling me about the Silvervision.co.uk site. Gotta get some stuff from them. Im sick of paying mad prices in HMV for wrestling Dvd's

Well I don't necessarily know where the price difference comes in. All of the DVDs listed on the Silvervision site have "RRP: £19.99" underneath "their" price. And the thing is that Silvervision are the distributor/licencee/reseller for WWE DVDs so they make sure their site is the best for price of many things.

They must purposefully up the price on DVDs that they distribute so their website has the cheaper prices. Although, the official rep on their facebook page says they sell more to the likes of HMV than they sell online. Also take into account there's probably a middle man or two in between Silvervision and Tower/HMV.

Conversely last year HMV had a load of deadly DVDs in at great prices. They had Legacy of Stone Cold, Shawn Michaels Heartbreak, RAW Anniversary and the WrestleManias xx-xxiv all at €15. They also had the Undertaker's Tombstone and Triple H's DVDs real cheap like a tener or something. Just a few weeks ago HMV got in all of the 2008 DVDs at about 7quid and they had the Rock and Ric Flair's DVD box sets at about €7-8. They might still have them if you have a look out.

I got the Road Warriors DVD in Tower for €13 which wasn't too bad and they have a few around that price.

In general though the tagged classics seem to be kept tightly priced and I think £9 on the Silvervision site is about the bestyou'll get new. I did hwoever get the SummerSlam tagged classics in HMV in Britain last year for £10.

Golden Discs used to get in loads of DVDs at special offer prices but since they're gone from Mary St and Grafton St./Stephen's Green and there's only the Jervass shop left they haven't got many. I saw Shawn Michaels' Vault DVD for 15 I think and they had the rey Mysterio set a few months ago around that price too and the WrestleMania III championship DVD for a tener.

It can kinda pay to shop around sometimes.

Swapping them with someone would be a good idea but I have those shows myself :)
