    Easing off here now

For posterity heres my weather website with the 110.7mm/hr rain fall record (for here) recorded at 711pm

We lost electricity here for a few minutes at the height of the storm when the thing was flashing every few minutes.
The poor dogs were going mad!
My brother 2 miles over the road still has no power and the village beside him is out.

  • Registered Users Posts: 15,355 ✭✭✭✭Supercell

Brighter to the south how, seems like a squall line just passed. Absolutely lashed down briefly and ran rate went to 93.7mm/hr.

Fantastic stuff, this is exactly why some of us love the weather :)

Look at that nice little squall line at the arse of our current torrential rain.

Birds in the air again and just 9.1mm/hr, can make out cloud details again. Looks like main event over for the moment here .

Heh, looks like it passed over here just before you typed that, packed quite a punch too with 93.7mm/hr rain rate briefly. Tristrame had higher and is using the same type of kit as me so would suspect its weakening a bit as it goes north.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,246 ✭✭✭rc28

YAY!! First thunder here in meath! It was off to the east but definitely thunder. Lashing rain here and is very dark now.

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,067 ✭✭✭bennyx_o

Flash of lightning and thunder just there, still lashing down. Hoping theres more. :D

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,033 ✭✭✭Snowbie

On the graph to the bottom right, you can see when the strikes are close. The yellow indicates noise assistant ranging. It makes for better accuracy when a storm is approaching and then it just stops.Died just off the coast.
UK is on fire atm yet again.

Edit a flash to my se now.Load rumble.

Seems to be brightening up and clearing off here now, nice and bright to the SE, dark, gloomy and thundery looking to the NW.

  • Registered Users Posts: 12,778 ✭✭✭✭ninebeanrows

Looks like we all saw that one explosion..

Could that of been a plane being struck?
