Some VERY heavy rain today on the East coast especially this evening with embedded thunderstorms a distinct possibility.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,310 ✭✭✭Trogdor

I'd been watching that over the last few runs and it had been consistantly putting the heavy rain over us but now on the 00z it's put the worst of it down over the south-east, but maybe it'll change again on the 06z.
EDIT: the 06z has the rain even heavier over the south-east but still not that bad with us

A clump of heavy rain over S wales atm is moving NNW and a couple of storms is within this.Could pose a threat to SE E later on as just heavy rain though?

Yep seems that it has a sight on Wexford atm.

On the UK forums there is a buzz about there severe weather to hit the SE coasts later on.:( A MCS aswel as a supercell are expected:eek: to hit there in the evening and all we ask for is a thundery shower at the very least.:(

What a last week they had in terms of storms. Its becoming a popular place to chase storms overthere and im not surprised by the severe weather of late.

Why is the isle of white site screaming with an alarm and shouting lightning proximity warning... It frightened the bejaysus out of me :D
leave it on for a few seconds and you will hear it.

Latest Radar shows severe echoes moving out of Wales and moving Northwestwards, could be come activity yet on the east coast. Infact the 12z would suggest that some intense rain to affect the region and possibly some TS's..

    Going to be interesting watching.

Sky to my southeast looks threatening alright.

here in Thurles, Tipperary we have had severe torrential rain for the past hour and a half...no sign of it stopping yet..no rumbles..but plenty of standing water! Sorry if I'm posting off-topic.

A monster cell moving off the french coast atm has a tornado threat in it too.

    http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/satpics/latest_uk_vis.html

Also a few cells now across the UK,Wales area and yes WC there is towering cumulus in the echoes off our coast. No sferics from them yet. This is a good a chance as ever for imports from wales if they maintain a NW track.

A very disturbed sky here and it has gotten quite windy in the last hour.
The south of england looks to be in a great position for t-storms this evening, my brother in london is gloating about it. I hope we see something:rolleyes:
Also, it has started raining lightly here in last few mins but the drops themselves are large and "blobby".

Some big clouds to my south, had a short sharp light downpour 20 minutes ago with huge drops. This one to my southeast looks alot more powerful.

    Will keep ya all posted.

Yep Snowbie that cell is amazing!! Lucky sods!

Been pissing it down here in Portlaoise the past couple of hours, with a few very heavy bursts on and off as well. No sign of any thunder or anything, though.

What the hell is going on with that Isle of Wight lightning detector, though? Surely what I'm seeing at the moment on it can't be right, can it? It looks like all hell is breaking loose over there right now. Does it seem accurate or do you all think it's mis-reporting?

That huge cell coming out of the Normandy region is just amazing waching it on the link above it really explodes in a very short time..it may be touch and go whether some of those thundery showers coming out of Wales impact on the
East coast..hope ye get some fireworks..here in Thurles the torrential downpour has eased and its just spitting rain again.

Nice to hear that that clump is electrified, it is moving northwestwards and has a decent look to her on the radar.. Will be affecting Dublin pretty shifty, whether it will be electrified is another matter.

    Enjoy yourself Earthman )
