Tesco don’t chop and change the offers. All offers have a start date and an end date. If you order online and the delivery slot is past the offers end date then you don’t get the offer. Like wise if you order an item that’s full price but in the delivery date there’s a half price offer, then you’re charged half price.

Here’s a tip though if you’re in store. Look at the price label. The special offer price labels are yellow and white. At the bottom they have an offer end date. But it’s written backwards so 200325 is 25/03/2020

That means the offer will still be on for all of trade on 25th but new price will start on 26th.
By law they can’t have an ‘always on offer’ price as that then has to be the new price. Products have to have a certain amount of time at full RRP in order for a special to be special.

Some times an offer will stop prior to it’s official end date but it’s most definitely an exception rather than a rule. Typically an availability issue or an error correction.

All promotions are agreed with the supplier up to a maximum qty , once that qty is hit the promotion would have to be paid for by the retailer and they never do that. So pretty much every successful promotion ends early !

You'd think that the supermarkets wouldn't be bothered doing many offers at the moment. Everyone drinking at home pushing up demand. I have noticed Heineken gone from shelves at various times in my local places.

the promotions are done by the supplier not the retailer and a set amount are agreed for the year in advance as part of price negotiations .

Suppliers have to honour these over the year anyway and right now as a marketing strategy you could argue is a better time to promote than normal.

When is Lidl bottles for 14.99 offer on?

  • Registered Users Posts: 215 ✭✭Lazy Bhoy

Does anybody know if Dunnes are doing any offers on slabs of Bulmers or Heineken?
They usually do the promo on slabs at the same time as Tesco.

I wont be doing the shopping until Saturday so I haven't checked yet.

Went to Tesco at midday and kept driving. Queues were mental. Won't be going near the big supermarkets for the foreseeable.

At that rate I don't think I will bother so. There will more than likely be no slabs left, especially if they are on special.

The government, in their infinite wisdom, banned the use of promotional vouchers like the above for being used against alcohol sales from I think January 6th. So your discount vouchers cannot be used against alcohol purchases.

From next year I think this comes in to play, I used vouchers last week €10 off €50 to buy primarily booze.

The legislation coming into force next January bans the earning & redemption of loyalty points on alcohol (as well as discounts that last for three days or less).

It's not entirely clear to me whether spend & save vouchers come within the scope of the ban but I guess time will tell.

    Tesco

Stella Artois/ carlsberg / bud regular / carling / molson
    Special OfferAny 24 For 25.00
    valid from 2/4/2020 until 14/4/2020

I got the stella, I have said before that is 4.8% and quite different from the old 5.3% stuff, it is more generic tasting to me, anybody I know who tried it found it OK.

My tesco closed at 10pm instead of the usual 11pm, people were still pulling in just before 10pm. checking the site it looks like they are all possibly closing an hour earlier these days.

Did you actually bring it to a till to check?

My local Lidl regularly don't put the promotional price signage up for certain offers but the offers still work (case in point, the half-price wine yesterday).

Jaysus I just got mine. 3 quid in vouchers and that’s it. No 10 off 40 or anything like it.

Wife also got her mailing, much the same as my own.

Why does it be different for different people?

I guess it's calculated by the amount you spend but I may be wrong.

Try putting all your purchases on one card and see what happens.

    Dunnes has Jack Daniels €25.

    same in tesco
    SAVE 9.00 Was 34.00 Now 25.00
    valid from 2/4/2020 until 14/4/2020

Also in tesco the smirnoff/morgans/gordons 1Litres have dropped 2euro to €25, still not calling it an offer so no end date, a date might appear in a couple of days.

Know how long that’s in dunnes for? I’ve to get shopping for my old man later on so should come out of it with a 10 back off 50, so that’ll get me 2 bottles for 40 bucks later in the week :D

I bagged two with a voucher today.
€20 for JD is a happy day :)

Tesco have 24 Cans of Guinness or Heineken for €28 and 24 Cans of either Bud or Carlsberg for €25 (mix & match allowed).

Guinness at €1.17 a can is pretty damn good.

Absolutely agree with that. It’s a far cry from the two slabs for €30 a couple of Christmas’s a go but for just over a €1 a can ya can’t complain.

I don’t normally shop in Tesco but will go for this. When’s the offer on to does anyone know?

    Thanks!

There was an offer on Rockshore that was suppose to last till April 14th.
I'd added some into my basket on Tesco online but the offer seems to have been taken down now.
Will they honour this deal still?
I've sent an email with the screenshot but no reply
Just a little update.. they honoured the deal in the end by sending me back the €30 I would of saved
