Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Grand parents in their 30s.
Skanger cars like 05 Nissan Almeras or Honda civics parked up
    No trees
Local pub has no windows and is usually painted black / grey and is part of a shop complex that consists of a spar with a disproportionate off licence section selling predominantly cans, dominos pizza and paddy powers
AAA / no water meter posters
The estate is a "gardens" or named after a republican
Abandoned furniture, cars and completely random things
Every house has a satellite dish
A Lidl / Aldi near by or dealz is the main shop on the high street
    Pie balled ponies grazing
Ad hoc shops, usually in an old garage, selling huge quantities of toilet paper or washing powder
Women are in fake juicy couture tracksuit, men are in matching track suits
    Everyone wears unfeasibly white runners
A panel beating / car repair garage, usually it modifies cars as well.

Forgot the fellas whizzing about on scrambler bikes, terrorising people on the paths and destroying the public green space. That seems to be where the craic is.

If there is a perimeter wall next to a field, the other side of the wall is typically awash with old electrical appliances, cheap "leather" sofas and old baby car seats and or buggies, not to mention bags and bags of household waste.

    Glazers Out!

We have been told to stand back and not to get involved, as other students will break it up

That is kind of insulting to be fair.

Grand parents in their 30s. (Dont be Judging people what can you do ).

Skanger cars like 05 Nissan Almeras or Honda civics parked up. (To me a car is a car does not have to be BMW as long as it gets you from A to B)

No trees (Plenty of areas dont have them where i am from back home would be considered a very posh area and it has one Tree in the place).

Local pub has no windows and is usually painted black / grey and is part of a shop complex that consists of a spar with a disproportionate off licence section selling predominantly cans, dominos pizza and paddy powers. (Handy to have the pub where i live now 10 mins up the road has all this and to be fair i can get a pizza, Some nice craft beer in the off licence, Then pick up a few things is the shop how bad)

AAA / no water meter posters. (People Standing up to what they believe in fair play to them)

The estate is a "gardens" or named after a republican. (Thats quite a insult now to a lot of people just to do with the area there from)

Abandoned furniture, cars and completely random things. (Thats everywhere in Ireland)

Every house has a satellite dish. (Thats normal in my posh area back home every house has one as well. My mother and fathers has 2 one for Sky and one for my dads Italian TV)

A Lidl / Aldi near by or dealz is the main shop on the high street. (Be handy if i lived by a Dealz i have a LIDL and is very handy to have as the food i hope you know the meet is some of the best you can buy in the country and it comes from the same place as your posh meet)

    Pie balled ponies grazing.
Ad hoc shops, usually in an old garage, selling huge quantities of toilet paper or washing powder. (Handy to have as we do need both in our lives).

A panel beating / car repair garage, usually it modifies cars as well. (Handy to have as well in your area as cars do need to be fixed after all not everywhere will pay the 150 euro a hour main dealer charge)

A 'Working Class' area where no-one living there actually works.

    Cash for gold outlets.

    More bookies than regular shops.

Everyone wearing leisure wear, but they're not going to the gym or football training.

Fourteen year old mothers. A girl I went to school was fourteen when she had her first child, I presumed she was going to go to jail after my mum warning me of "having sex when you're too young means you go to prison!" :grin
The girl's mother had five children from five different fathers.

The takeaway has a different name every few weeks.

A police car and a screaming siren
A pneumatic drill and ripped up concrete
A baby wailing and stray dog howling
The screech of brakes and lamp light blinking

A smash of glass and a rumble of boots
An electric train and a ripped up 'phone booth
Paint splattered walls and the cry of a tomcat
Lights going out and a kick in the balls

Days of speed and slow time Mondays
Pissing down with rain on a boring Wednesday
Watching the news and not eating your tea
A freezing cold flat and damp on the walls

Waking up at 6 a.m. on a cool warm morning
Opening the windows and breathing in petrol
An amateur band rehearsing in a nearby yard
Watching the telly and thinking about your holidays

Waking up from bad dreams and smoking cigarettes
Cuddling a warm girl and smelling stale perfume
A hot summer's day and sticky black tarmac
Feeding ducks in the park and wishing you were far away

Two lovers kissing amongst the scream of midnight
Two lovers missing the tranquility of solitude
Getting a cab and travelling on buses
Reading the graffiti about slashed seat affairs

I think it was aimed towards the entertainment industry rather than a rant about social deprivation. Great song though.

I heard that it's a 'sign post' of sorts. So that buyers of certain commodities can easily locate the purveyors of said commodities.

So how does this work? Do you go and stand under the shoes until a drugs person comes? :pac:

Walking with the pimp cane is for protection against attacks from rival gangs, You cant be charged with having a walking stick, even though some of them are lethal.

No. We used to be able to hear it from the ENG block depending if it was busy or walking to college. I do remember a story of some dieing at a house party after eating a coke sandwich (I grad in 2012 for timeline). I can't shift the image of a group of lads off their tits and deciding that the only way to elevate the session was a coke sandwich. It makes me laugh. I'm a terrible person.....

If you work in admin in the public sector, you are basically a glorified social welfare recipient.

I say all of this as a public sector admin worker. The waste I see day to day is sickening.

A scouse girl goes to the dole office to register for child benefit.

"How many children?" asks the welfare officer.

    "Ten" replies the Scouse girl.

    "Ten?" says the welfare worker.

    "What are their names?"

"Nathan, Nathan, Nathan, Nathan, Nathan, Nathan, Nathan, Nathan, Nathan and Nathan" she says.

    "Doesn't that get confusing?"

"Naah..." says the Scouse girl, "It's great because if they're out playing in the street I just have to shout 'Nathan yer dinner's ready!' or 'Nathan go to bed now!' and they all do it"

"What if you want to speak to one individually?" says the curious welfare worker.

"That's easy," says the Scouse girl. "I just use their surnames."
