    What's poxy about it?

    Terrible weekend for Cork GAA.

It was clearly a lucky goal, plain and simple.

Footballers won and stayed in div 2.

Ladies qualified for the league final.

You make your own luck. Galway created it and scored. We aren't good enough going forward and 2021 championship will define that.

    I love your optimism.

I much prefer a little optimism, mixed with realism, rather than pessimistic all the time.

    Not a bother Shamoptimistic

Are you actually from Cork?:pac: The footballers secured their place in division 2, as for the hurlers yesterday was disappointing, but sure hopefully it will turn around for the championship. We'll need to tighten up at the back alright, but jesus just get behind your county (presuming Cork is your county) and stop the sniping and moaning. We won't stay down forever. Sure after all we are Cork.;)

And you are happy that Cork secured their position in division 2 after a Relegation Playoff with Westmeath? Have Cork football fans lowered themselves to that standard now? No disrespect to Westmeath but Cork won 3 in a row in division 1 less than 10 years ago.

You say we won't be down forever?

16 years this year we haven't won a senior Hurling title.

11 years this year we haven't won a senior football title. How long do we have to stay down before they rise? Not all of us will be around the next time Cork may bring home an All Ireland.

It's people like you that are willing to accept Corks fall from grace just like the people running Cork GAA. That's why we will never again win anything worth talking about.

    Speakerboxx,

Why are you ranting and raving about it? We all know the facts. No one is deluded maybe except you for "blaming" posters for being optimistic. That is a bad thing now?

What is it that Shamo and everyone else here should be doing? You are acting like people here decided to not win anything.

I understand the frustration though. We all are frustrated and want to be on top.

Keeping in Div 2 is better than Div 3 surely? Not where we want to be but we don't want to be Div 3.Tipp got relegated sure.

At the end of the day, Its Championship is what matters. Footballers look to have a bleak year but the hurlers in my view have all the ingredients. Just failing to put in consistent results. First half against Galway was great but then collapsed. Kingston put it down to the changes that he had to make with fellas getting tired and the need to get fellas on who were coming back from injury. Could be total bollocks but hopefully it was just that.

Yes both teams drive me nuts but I am from Cork and we support our teams as the represent us. When they come good, and they will, we can say we supported them in the tough times as well as great times.

Small tweaks may get the hurling firing on all cylinders. The same cannot be said for football.

I'm happy we won the playoff and are not in division 3. That was what was at stake, if a fan is not happy we won, then I'm not sure what kind of a supporter they would be.
Would I prefer to be top of div 1, of course, but we aren't. Being negative won't get anyone anywhere, plain and simple.
Are Cork fans happy with the lack of All Irelands- of course not, why would they be? You have to be somewhat realistic though.
Managers, selectors etc are trying their best I'm sure. If not them, then who? Who will turn it around? What can be implemented that is not being done at the moment?

Very easy to play the blame game.

    Everyone else's fault of course.

I'm not blaming managers. They can only be capable of doing their best. But managers have been kept in Cork GAA for far too long when they aren't delivering. Our current senior football manager is one and Denis Walsh was involved with the U21s hurlers for something like 15 years with no success and they stayed with him. Now we have hurlers in the county who don't know how to win. Its not their fault the damage was done by the County board. But that's fine sure we are Cork at the end of the day. Dare not question the motives. Once we get supporters turning up and paying good money to see our teams performing to sub standards who cares about All Irelands. I am at an age when I remember Cork winning All Irelands in both codes.

So the County Boards motives are the issue according to you?
If they kept changing managers every few years, that would change everything and the All Irelands would flow again?

We haven't won anything with what we are doing have we?

We haven't won anything with what we are doing have we?

So, you believe 'altering' the County board motives and change the managers more frequently will solve it.

    Interesting theory indeed.

Do you think any change is better than no change and continue every year without success?
