Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

As paulhardman said, contact vodafone for unlock code.
As you have been with them for 5 years, they should do it very quickly for you.
If it was under a year, you might have had a problem.

Ordered last week, arrived Tuesday, couldn't port number till Wednesday, set to port yesterday at 8am, still nothing at 10am today was told by Live Chat that it would take 24 hours (sigh) eventually she admitted that port had been "stalled" so new port set at 10:30 today being told it would take another 24 hours so 10:30 tomorrow morning

Anybody else with such issues? I know the OH was moved in a matter of minutes and a few others on the thread similarly

    Getting quite annoying now

Mine ported this morning as I had planned, it took a few minutes.
No idea what's going, the port is very fast for some and full of problems for others.

I am currently tethered to a Landline Broadband service that is achieving poor speeds.... approx 5Mbps
My current provider provides a VOIP service for calls as part of a bundle.
I use between 40-60 GB download per month.

Were I to switch to GOMO SIM in a 4G Router...what VOIP provider(s) can be recommended.
I want to Port and keep my existing Landline Number. (021) XXX XXXX

Using Goldfish.ie here and gs wave app on mobile phone. Only used for incoming calls though.

Yes as long as you pay the ten euro per month in the meantime. :)

Looks like everything went smooth. Did anyone with an iPhone have to go into settings - phone and edit their number to the one they’re keeping?

You won't need to do anything with the GoMo SIM
All it will do is provide your broadband connection so there is no need to port any number to it.
You will need to port your landline number to your new VoIP provider.
My home place has been using Vomino for VoIP for the past four years or so without issue over wireless internet.
We ported their number to them at the time. Fairly painless.
We pay a one off fee annually of aroun 110 euro for all national and mobile calls. Might cover international as well. Can't recall.

Irishvoip.com for your 021 number. 25 euro per annum

If possible, get a router that allows using the gomo calls through the router phone port, discussion here...

Ported successfully this morning too. Had used the sim in an iphone for a week beforehand. Phone asked me to edit the number which I did after the port.

    Another happy customer so far...

I was ported yesterday. My mobile data usage shows 2GB. Should it not show 80GB? I updated the APN settings as mentioned in previous posts.

That's your phone's default data warning level, nothing to do with Gomo, you can change it to whatever value you like.

Hi. Don't know if this was asked before. But how can you port your number to Gomo if you don't get a confirmation or text from your other network ? Thanks

Your current network won't send you a text. Gomo will put in the port request, once ported your current sim card will stop working, put the Gomo sim into your phone and away you go.

Gomo sends a verification code to the SIM of donor network before porting. The donor network doesn't have any function in sending anything.

AFAIK the donor network can block the port if there is an active contract in place. There have been some reports of ports (out of contract) failing and this may be because the donor network has blocked the port for an unknown reason, maybe they weren't happy to be losing so many customers to gomo but that would be unprofessional...

porting out cannot be manually blocked. that would be against the regulations.
Also, being in contract does not stop porting. Early termination fees usually apply in such cases (same way they apply if you cancel your contract before term). if a port is hanging in there, most likely there are some technical issues with it which require manual intervention

Just contacted 3, they “matched” but only for 12 months. Decided to go with that.
Transferred my daughter onto GOMO from Eir.
Seems we’ve only a few days left.

    Many thanks.

Get email confirmation from 3 and check your next bill, some customers who got same deal were overcharged in subsequent bills and had to chase 3 to resolve it.

    What new improved GoMo?
    Same brand.
    Same network.
    Same services.
Just a price increase after the initial offering.

Ported all my 4 sims to GoMo last week, no hassle, all working fine. I used to switch provider every 5-6 months depending on the offer and I'm very much looking forward to not having to move again.

Next step is to get the $$$ back from virginmobile that they overcharged me

Yes there are hundreds of posts in this thread of people having trouble after trying to port outside of business hours, some who have gotten stuck in limbo for weeks by doing so.

My port was originally set to happen on the October bank holiday, I noticed, changed it, then it worked like a wonder the next day.

When I was booking a porting date/time, it would only allow an option during business hours.

How many different ways are there to set a port time? If it's impossible to select a time outside of business hours online what method was used where this issue happened?

Edit: I believe it did allow me to select a Sunday, could that have caused an issue?

Gomo allow their customers to port outside of business hours. It's just that those customers have been reporting lots of problems and the people who port inside business hours on average seem much more successful with fewer problems.

How do you go about porting outside of business hours?

I ported at 11:00 am on Saturday 11th Jan.

My old SIM went inactive at 10:50am. I put in the GoMo SIM at 11:05 and my phone worked immediately.

I had set the port day and time 5 days in advance.

I've no idea, a decent number of people have done it. The weekend and bank/public holidays are also considered out of business hours.

Like the poster above it can go well, a small % have had endless issues over it.

I’ve had issues, supposed to port on sat but nothing and now they have escalated, should be done in “5 days”. Pretty useless to be honest since I’m already waiting 2 days.

I've been with Go Mo since November (changed from Three prepay after many years).

My port was more or less seamless, taking about an hour to change over. There was some issues with iMessage, but we'll pin that to Apple as opposed to Go Mo and I was able to resolve it quite easily.

I have notice no real issues in terms of data speed, call quality or texts. I nearly always have 4G and occasionally drops to 3G. I have had one or two instances where mobile data drops whilst on a phone call.

My first bill was just over €10, owing to the iMessage set up. My second bill was €9.99.

In short, I'm quite pleased at present. I'm paying half of what I used to for more service (calls to all networks!) that is operating at par compared to what I had before.

I think the iTunes issue may have been caused by putting in the Gomo SIM before it had your number on it. So iMessage transferred to the Gomo number and then back to your number.

And I remember reading about data during a call via 4g isn't possible, I don't know the details but I think that's normal.
