It looks like Carson wentz won't play on Sunday night against the Rams in LA. It's funny that last season he was injured against the Rams in LA and now he won't play because of back soreness.

Hopefully 2017 late season Foles makes an appearance.

Well the eagles might as well throw caution to the wind.

Apparently Wentz has been complaining of back soreness since October, medical staff don't see anything major, apparently got it checked outside of the medial team and has a fractured vertebrae, first things first fire the medical staff how can you mess this up that badly,

Apparently it's not a major injury (which sounds crazy) apparently a few months recovery time and it's ok again hopefully he is 100% for us for next season

The tweet from a radio guy in Philly that I read made it sound like the Eagles staff knew about the fracture but didn't tell the player. Is that not accurate then? Tweet is a few hours old now.

Either way they should all be replaced.

Best tweet of the season goes to the Chargers.

On TV this morning, Stephen A Smith made a fool of himself as you can see in the tweet below.

    https://twitter.com/DP_NFL/status/1073237342369013761?s=19

    And the Chargers response:

If the medical staff knew about it and left the starting QB of the franchise and future of the same franchise play for any length of time and didn't tell anyone including the player himself then Howie roseman should fire all of them before the owner gets to them. I actually hope it's not that as bad as it sounds hococop as that's bad on so many levels. So it was checked out by an outside medical staff and they picked it up ? Sweet Jesus and the orphans.

Cam Newton to miss the rest of the season now they're out of playoff contention. Not surprising really when he's apparently been struggling through with a shoulder injury the past few weeks. The game against the Saints it was very evident, with him throwing a fair share of wobblers.

Ridiculous it's so important for HOF yet fan-voted, but that's old news. Anyways, a few notable omissions, none more so than Chris Jones. Joke he wasn't picked but that's the pro-bowl for ya.
Also think Rodgers and Brady are both very lucky to get selected. Thought Luck in particular was hard done by, and also felt Wilson should've been the 3rd choice for the NFC.

Leighton Vander Esch a glaring omission on the NFC roster, thought TJ Watt was worth a pick on the AFC but i’m probably being bias saying that.

  • Registered Users Posts: 39,440 ✭✭✭✭Itssoeasy

Ah the pro bowl rosters. The rosters that every player on a team in the playoffs will spend until January trying to not play in. I wonder how long it will take to get to the 20th alternate ?

Wilson should be QB2 on the NFC behind Brees by any measure. Rodgers and Brady both there on reputation only.

    Aren't most of the players?

Speaking from a Redskins fan's point of view, Trent Williams has been playing injured most of the year and as a result is having probably his worst season but he's made the team. No way that's based on this year's performances.

  • Registered Users Posts: 37,512 ✭✭✭✭eagle eye

Melvin Gordon, when was the last time he played?

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,642 ✭✭✭Deco99

Darius Leonard most glaring omission by a long shot. Melvin Gordon has been great but has missed 3 games which charter won all 3. Who picks this team?

Why do people still even bother to both talk about and debate selections for the Pro Bowl? It’s nothing more than a popularity contest. The biggest waste of time in all of sport.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 23,495 ✭✭✭✭Billy86

A young or breakout player (especially if not a high first round type) making the Pro Bowl is about the only time it's really of much note in terms of merit.

True but there are bonus based on it and despite what we think, it seems to affect HOF voting. Easier to make a case for an 8-time Pro Bowler.

That went about as well as expected then. Shame as he’s such an exciting player to watch.

Holy jaysus. The guy is a loose cannon clearly. I hope he is able to sort himself out.

  • Registered Users Posts: 11,010 ✭✭✭✭Foxtrol

Was worth a gamble for the Patriots but at this stage it is clear why other teams didn't compete for him, especially those teams with WR needs that also had coaches with experience with him.

  • Registered Users Posts: 10,824 ✭✭✭✭Realt Dearg Sec

He played pretty well for them all the same, for a very low pick. Pats can feel they got value on the deal, hopefully he can get the help he needs.

Is there any issue now that sees someone put their hands up and say "my fault" without tacking on "but mental health issues"...

Ravens are going to extend Harbaugh. Surprised at that before the playoff picture emerges. It would make a lot more sense to make a decision in a couple of weeks’ time.

Delighted we're keeping him. Didn't understand the talk of him losing his job earlier in the year, he's clearly one of the better coaches in the NFL and unless we were going to replace him with Lincoln Riley or someone similar we'd have been worse off. Like what he's doing with Lamar and our defense is consistently excellent.

Having said that we do need to start drafting better. We've had a number of bad picks over the last few years (Perriman the obvious example) while hitting on the mid round picks less often than before.
