Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

In a dr's waiting room, I saw a man who was carrying himself as if he had a back injury,
one of the desk staff came in with his long term sick benefit booklet, she took him through it and told him it was a free post and to be sure to use it or he could hand it into the office in town.

As she walked away she said again for him to use the freepost, the older lady across the room, piped up, 'that right, dont give the lazy feckers a single penny more than you have too'.

Such an incongruous statement from a lady that age. I guess she's not be voting FG in the GE.

Our cat’s annual infatuation with our real Christmas tree. She loves to smell it and rub against it. We were prepared for this and are hanging our lights and baubles accordingly. It’s a family tree so it’s her tree too.

New book arriving in the post. Sitting with a cuppa, and the new book, with the sun beaming through the windows. Sheer happiness.

I thought my new painkillers might have got me high (unintentionally by me) but I'm just incredibly happy :) OH is officially going strong after his health scare and the future is clear and bright for us at last. Bone deep joy!

I forgot my TH. The pretty pattern on the Follain jam jars. I keep jam jars so it's cool to have patterned ones

My darling little kiddies in school brought me cake, flowers, balloons and a card! And not one of them spoiled the surprise which is a shock! Love my little class <3

I just love sitting in front of the fire during the winter. There's something so comforting about it!

Lovely boardsies comforting me last night, still supporting me even though I come and go.

My soon to be ex mother-in-law sent me a text last night asking me what I'd like for Christmas, that was really touching. I just sent off her presents today.

My soon to be ex-wife still being my best friend and loving the Birthday presents I bought her yesterday :)

I'd love to go the cinema by myself but I don't have the self confidence. It'd be great though and I wouldn't have to share my precious popcorn!

I have about a thousand other follow up questions but I'll resist! :)

Santa visited my classroom and left snowy footprints, a letter and some gold coins ;) oh the excitement! The kids were literally shaking with excitement. We went off to the Post Office and they all bought their own stamp and then we posted our letters. Such a magical day!

Doing homework with my son, and him proudly telling me that 5+3+2=10. You know why? Because 5+3=8 and 8+2 is 10. The pride on his face explaining how he worked it out is brilliant

TH for a real productive morning. :D

Sun is shining, the frost whitened everything and the air is absolutely clean and fresh. Perfect to air my whole flat.

The first round of mails was finished before the sun came up. Time to crack quite a few of hazelnuts, grind them to flour and put them into the dough in the breadmaker. The inherited printer from my former neighbour is installed and the scanner part is already working. The paper transport still needs a bit of maintenance.

And i already had a nice visitor. Saw him or her a few times already on my porch as it’s part of the local cat motorway. Obviously today was the day to check out my flat. After a few minutes of talking to each other i was even allowed to stroke her or him. Wonderful soft fur, definitely no stray cat.

Hhmmm, probably i have to invest into a few nice cat treats. 😺😂

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,172 ✭✭✭Bredabe

Leaving the venue last month, I went to pay the room rental and refreshments.
I was asked for the room rental fee and I asked if that now included the refreshments, the response was a careless 'wha?'
So I paid what was keyed in by the venue and got my receipt.

So far no contact looking for the additional money! which is wonderful as the cost was hugly inflated.
