Will pick the highlights in the morning

  • Registered Users Posts: 942 ✭✭✭tgdaly

Oh I can't believe that trip! At least we still came away with the td

  • Registered Users Posts: 942 ✭✭✭tgdaly

Was wondering when we'd see a Jones fumble... Oh well

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,043 ✭✭✭KrustyUCC

Bad teams always find ways to lose

Only the Giants would have lost the way we did last night

Bloody hate always losing to the Eagles

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,989 ✭✭✭wawaman

Evan Engram catchs that ball from Jones and the Giants win. But man oh man is Andrew Thomas, Erik Flowers 2.0

Early days yet but I fear you're right about Thomas

    Should we trade away Engram?

So much potential but we can't get the best out of him even when he's not injured

We should and Golden tate shouldnt be to far behind him

Surely we should be able to get someone to take Engram as a former first rounder

Not sure there's much market for Tate

Be nice to get some extra picks seeing as we only have 5 this year with the 5th and 7th rounders traded away

Just traded Markus Golden to the Cardinals for a 6th Rounder next year

It takes a special kind of bad to be last in the dumpster fire that is the NFC East this year

Will Hernandez has tested positive for COVID 19 along with some coaches.

    That's a shame

Be interesting to see how Shane Lemieux gets on

    Another hard fought loss

I must watch the game back but some really poor errors from Jones again

Even on the two pt conversion its a late throw and then poorly placed to Lewis

You'd like to see progress from Jones but he's repeating the same mistakes

He's done. The excuses for him with the turnovers have run out. Its pure stupidity at this stage with some of his throws

  • Registered Users Posts: 942 ✭✭✭tgdaly

I read somewhere that Jones has the most amount of turnovers through this many games starting a career since Ryan Leaf. Frightening stuff

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,043 ✭✭✭KrustyUCC

Yes it's getting very very hard to defend Jones

This BS about the PI call is a non story

I bet if the Giants were defending it still gets called but at the end of the day the story is just masking his deficiencies

On NFL network they said 30/32 of the other QBs in the league make that throw on the 2 pt try

    That's the story

Jones has 21 picks, 23 fumbles 15 of which were lost so far in his career

    That's 36 turnovers

Jones in his career has beat the Bucs last year and Washington three times

I just can't see where the improvement is going to come that we won't be picking a QB high in the draft next year

We currently would have the #2 pick

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,989 ✭✭✭wawaman

The PI call is just typical of the luck this season. The last 4 games have been decided by a total of 7 points ! We have held double digit leads in those 3 losses.
There are things to be slightly positive but they are undermined when you have issues at QB.
There were at least 2 occasions where Slayton was wide open and Jones didnt even see him. I think one of those was one of his interceptions.
But man...throw it out of bounds, take a sack but dont throw a ball when you are been tackled and turn it over. After about the 3rd time that happens you make sure it doesnt happen again.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,989 ✭✭✭wawaman

Somehow the Giants have a meaningful game against the Eagles this week. I mean we all know we beat Washington and lose to the Eagles all the time but its the hope that kills !!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,043 ✭✭✭KrustyUCC

If only we played Washington every week

We always find way of losing to the Eagles

Can't see that changing this week

2 possessions for the Eagles after HT

    2 very easy TD drives

They are killing us up front

Only 1 winner here I fear

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,043 ✭✭✭KrustyUCC

The more I see of him the more I fear that Thomas will be a big bust

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,043 ✭✭✭KrustyUCC

Gano has been a great signing

2 possession game with 3 mins left but I'm still nervous about us winning from here

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,989 ✭✭✭wawaman

    That ....was....good.
We were the better team throughout despite that wobble at the start of the second half.
Could have been a bigger win, that call against Thomas when Jones scored the TD should have been offset as their was hands to the face of Thomas.
But some how we come back after the bye playing meaningful football at thanksgiving

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,049 ✭✭✭boccy23

Christ, I love beating the Eagles. So long since the last one. Well done G-men.

Been a long time since we've had that :)

Marc Colombo fired as OL coach. Apparently Judge has been spending a lot of time with the OL recently so he obviously wasn’t happy with what was going on

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,049 ✭✭✭boccy23

Reports of fisty cuffs between Judge and Colombo

I like the look of that :)

Job done yesterday but boy did we make hard work of it

    Special Teams not good enough

    Almost cost us the game

Jones is going to be a loss with his hamstring I fear

  • Registered Users Posts: 942 ✭✭✭tgdaly

Early reports saying the injury isn't looking too good. More testing to be done on it today.

You'd have to think even if he does make it back this season that it'll badly effect his ability to run, which is obviously one of his big strengths

I would think they should be targeting the Browns game instead of the next 2 as the winnable game and we need DJ for that one.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,043 ✭✭✭KrustyUCC

Hard to see him back that quickly but yeah Browns is winnable if we can stop the run

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,989 ✭✭✭wawaman

In fairness yesterday was the first time all year that special teams has been below par.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,043 ✭✭✭KrustyUCC

    True that

Better not make a habit of it as our O will struggle with McCoy over the next few games

Yeeeeeeeees! Get in. The g men are fun and exciting again after years of suffering

Wow. Dare we dream of a return to the playoffs?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,941 ✭✭✭krustydoyle

Is it bad to think that Jones would of found a way to lose that for us?

I have doubts about Jones but you could see he was missed out there. He opens up QB runs for a start where McCoy couldn’t. And I may be wrong but I don’t think we had a throw over 20 yards.

I agree that Jones's throwing would have made a difference. But the interesting thing was that with McCoy, it forced us to stick to trying to run the ball. And in the second half that really worked. The O-Line has improved dramatically in the last 6-7 games. The rotations they employ are mad though. Apart from Thomas and Gates, everyone else seems to come and go per series or attempted plays. Lemieux, Hernandez and even Zeitler look like they interchange regularly. Maybe the competition and rest keeps them at the top of their game.

  • Registered Users Posts: 942 ✭✭✭tgdaly

I'm very impressed with how the run game has come along over the last few games with Gallman, even sprinkling in some good cameos from Morris here and there. If Barkley comes back fit next year we could potentially have a very good 1-2-3 punch there. O-line play has been improved too.

Also we have a top 10 defence at the moment which I wouldn't have expected coming into the season, 10th in total yards, 4th against the run, 10th in scoring.

As for Jones, the jury is still out, but he had been playing turnover free football for 2 games before the injury. If the defence and run game can both come together who's to say he can't keep playing steady

    What a brilliant unexpected win

Did not see that one coming

It's huge for that team to beat a team with a winning record

Fingers crossed the football team and the cowboys lose to round out the week

Looks like we should all be apologizing to Leonard Williams although Patrick Graham seems like a wizard. Probably the most important aspect of the next offseason will be keeping him as DC.

The offense is still a bit vanilla but I think Garrett is doing a decent job, I thought he did a good job yesterday, we were good at running the ball when we needed to. Impressed with Gallman and the OL seems to be working well by committee.

Not worried about Jones at all. We need a #1 WR. I think we either sign one in FA or go high with a WR in the draft. Shepard and particularly Engram are too inconsistent to be relied upon. Tate will be gone. Once we have the option of Jones/Saquon running and a true #1 WR, then I think we can start making a call on Jones' future.

Credit where credit is due. The Football team and ourselves can bring some credibility to the division yet.

And now both ourselves and WFT are only a game back from a wildcard spot

Didn't know that. Dare I say it, will the G-men be favoured against the Cards this week? Would never have anticipated that a few weeks ago.

In general my hatred for the Division is as follows:

    Eagles

    Cowboys

    WFT

Hatred for the Eagles outweighs all by multiples. So as long as they are imploding like this, looking at a huge cap hit if Wentz is done, crazy selections in their draft coming home to roost, I am a very happy man.

Surprising thing is that I would have said the above about us a few weeks ago.

  • Registered Users Posts: 942 ✭✭✭tgdaly

I'd be happy enough for Washington to make the playoffs once it wasn't at our expense. For Alex Smith alone it would be great to see after how he's come back from the injury
